動物および治療
1)同時飼育群(同時飼育対照、n=6)には、エタノール(EtOH)が等カロリーのマルトースデキストランで置き換えられた対照液体飼料を与えた。
2)EtOH群(EtOH、n=7)には、EtOHを含むLieber-DeCarli液体飼料を不断給餌で与えた(EtOHの量を徐々に増加させ、1週間後、カロリー摂取量の36%(最終濃度6.2%(vol/vol)に対応する)まで上げた)。
3)BCAAem群(BCAAem、n=6)には、EtOHが等カロリーのマルトースデキストランで置き換えられた対照液体飼料を与え、1.5g/kg/日のBCAAemを提供する分岐鎖アミノ酸組成物(表1の「BCAAem」)を補給した。
4)アルファ5群(α5m、n=6)には、EtOHが等カロリーのマルトースデキストランで置き換えられた対照液体飼料を与え、1.5g/kg/日を提供するアミノ酸組成物(表1の「α5m」)を補給した。

組成物。 - クエン酸、リンゴ酸、コハク酸の総量と、ロイシン、イソロイシン、バリン、リシン、トレオニンの総量との重量比は、0.05~0.3である、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- クエン酸、リンゴ酸、コハク酸の総量と、ロイシン、イソロイシン、バリンの総量との間の重量比は、0.1~0.4である、請求項1または2に記載の組成物。
- クエン酸と、リンゴ酸およびコハク酸の総量との重量比は、1.0~4.0である、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- クエン酸:リンゴ酸:コハク酸の重量比は、10:1:1~2:1.5:1.5である、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記活性剤は更に、ヒスチジン、フェニルアラニン、メチオニン、トリプトファン、チロシン、システインからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つのアミノ酸を有する、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記活性剤は更に、ヒスチジン、フェニルアラニン、メチオニン、トリプトファン、システイン、および、任意選択的にチロシンを有する、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- クエン酸、リンゴ酸、コハク酸の総モル量と、メチオニン、フェニルアラニン、ヒスチジン、トリプトファンの総モル量との比は1.35より高い、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 3つのカルボン酸、すなわち、クエン酸、コハク酸、リンゴ酸の総モル量と、リシンおよびトレオニンの総モル量との比は、0.10~0.70である、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- クエン酸の重量またはモル量は、リンゴ酸およびコハク酸の両方の総重量または総モル量より高い、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- ロイシンとクエン酸との重量比は、1~5である、請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
