Description
(1)流体の流路となり、流体の流入側の端面である流入端面から流体の流出側の端面である流出端面まで延びる複数のセルを区画形成する多孔質の隔壁と、
最外周に位置する外周壁と、
を有する柱状のハニカム構造体であって、
前記セルは、前記流体の流入側が開口して前記流体の流出側の端面に目封止部を有する複数のセルAと、前記セルAとそれぞれ交互に配置され、前記流体の流出側が開口して前記流体の流入側の端面に目封止部を有する複数のセルBとを含み、
前記セルAの目封止部及び前記セルBの目封止部の一方又は両方が、磁性体を含むハニカム構造体。
(2)(1)のハニカム構造体と、
前記ハニカム構造体の外周を螺旋状に周回するコイル配線と、
を有する排気ガス浄化装置。
図1には、本発明の一実施形態のハニカム構造体1を模式的に示す斜視図が記載されている。図2には、図1のハニカム構造体1の目封止部18、19を有するセル15及び隔壁12における、セルが延びる方向(ガスの流れる方向)に平行な断面を模式的に示す断面図が記載されている。図示のハニカム構造体1は、流体の流路となり、流体の流入側の端面である流入端面13から流体の流出側の端面である流出端面14まで延びる複数のセル15を区画形成する多孔質の隔壁12と、最外周に位置する外周壁11とを備える。図示のハニカム構造体1において、セル15は、流体の流入側が開口して流体の流出側の端面に目封止部18を有する複数のセルAと、セルAとそれぞれ交互に配置され、流体の流出側が開口して流体の流入側の端面に目封止部19を有する複数のセルBとを備える。セルA及びセルBは隔壁12を挟んで交互に隣接配置されており、両端面は市松模様を形成する。セルA及びセルBの数、配置、形状等及び隔壁12の厚み等は制限されず、必要に応じて適宜設計することができる。このようなハニカム構造体1は、排ガスを浄化するフィルタ(ハニカムフィルタ)として用いることができる。
水銀圧入法により表面層の気孔率を測定する方法として、表面層つきでの水銀ポロシカーブと表面層のみを削って取り除いた基材のみの水銀ポロシカーブの差を表面層の水銀ポロシカーブとみなし、削りとった質量と水銀ポロシカーブとから表面層の気孔率が算出される。SEM画像撮影を行い、表面層部分の画像解析により、空隙部と個体部の面積比率から表面層の気孔率を算出しても良い。
図5は、ハニカム構造体1が組み込まれた排気ガス浄化装置6の排気ガス流路の概略図である。排気ガス浄化装置6は、ハニカム構造体1とハニカム構造体1の外周を螺旋状に周回するコイル配線4とを有する排気ガスの流路は、金属管2により定められてもよい。金属管2の拡径部2aに排気ガス浄化装置6を配置することができる。コイル配線4は固定部材5によって金属管2内に固定されてもよい。固定部材5は、セラミック繊維等の耐熱性部材であることが好ましい。ハニカム構造体1は触媒を担持してもよい。
以下、ハニカム構造体の製造方法を説明する。まず、多孔質の隔壁を有し、隔壁によって複数のセルが区画形成されたハニカム構造体を作製する。例えば、コージェライトからなるハニカム構造体を作製する場合には、まず、坏土用材料としてコージェライト化原料を用意する。コージェライト化原料は、コージェライト結晶の理論組成となるように各成分を配合するため、シリカ源成分、マグネシア源成分、及びアルミナ源成分等を配合する。このうちシリカ源成分としては、石英、溶融シリカを用いることが好ましく、更に、このシリカ源成分の粒径を100~150μmとすることが好ましい。

Claims (13)
- 流体の流路となり、流体の流入側の端面である流入端面から流体の流出側の端面である流出端面まで延びる複数のセルを区画形成する多孔質の隔壁と、
最外周に位置する外周壁と、
を有する柱状のハニカム構造体であって、
前記セルは、前記流体の流入側が開口して前記流体の流出側の端面に目封止部を有する複数のセルAと、前記セルAとそれぞれ交互に配置され、前記流体の流出側が開口して前記流体の流入側の端面に目封止部を有する複数のセルBとを含み、
前記セルAの目封止部及び前記セルBの目封止部の一方又は両方が、磁性体及びガラスを母材に含むハニカム構造体。 - 前記目封止部の磁性体のキュリー点が700℃以上である請求項1に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記目封止部の磁性体のキュリー点が800℃以上である請求項2に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記磁性体を含む前記セルAの目封止部及び前記セルBの目封止部の一方又は両方のセルが延びる方向の深さが、前記ハニカム構造体の中心から前記最外周に向かうにつれて変化している請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記磁性体を含む前記セルAの目封止部及び前記セルBの目封止部の一方又は両方のセルが延びる方向の深さが、前記ハニカム構造体の中心から前記最外周に向かうにつれて徐々に小さくなっている請求項4に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記隔壁の表面の少なくとも一部に表面層を有し、前記表面層が、磁性体を含み、かつ、通気性を有する請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記セルAの開口と前記セルBの開口とが異なる大きさに形成され、小さい方の開口を有する前記セルA又は前記セルBの目封止部が、磁性体を含む材料で構成されている請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記セルBの開口が前記セルAの開口より小さく、前記セルBの目封止部が、磁性体を含む請求項7に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記隔壁及び外周壁がセラミックス材料で構成されている請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記セラミックス材料がコージェライト、炭化珪素、チタン酸アルミニウム、窒化珪素、ムライト、及び、アルミナからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つである請求項9に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記複数のセルの内壁を形成する前記多孔質の隔壁の表面及び/又は前記隔壁の細孔内に、三元触媒、酸化触媒、SCR触媒、及び、LNT触媒からなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの触媒を設けた請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 請求項1~11のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体と、
前記ハニカム構造体の外周を螺旋状に周回するコイル配線と、
を有する排気ガス浄化装置。 - 前記コイル配線が、前記セルAの目封止部及び前記セルBの目封止部の一方又は両方に対応する位置に設けられている請求項12に記載の排気ガス浄化装置。
