Description
[1.表示装置の全体構成]
まず、実施の形態に係る表示装置の全体構成について図1~図4を用いて説明する。
次に、電流制限回路40の動作について説明する。
次に、本実施の形態に係る処理回路20における処理方法について、図10を用いて説明する。図10は、本実施の形態に係る処理回路20における処理方法を示すフローチャートである。
なお、本実施の形態では、重みaは0より大きく、1未満の定数である。重みaを小さくするほど過渡応答に現れるピーク電流値が小さく、かつ、過渡応答時間が長くなる。また、重みaを大きくするほど過渡応答に現れるピーク電流値が大きく、かつ、過渡応答時間が短くなる。このトレードオフがあるので、製品として許容されるピーク電流と応答時間との最適なバランスに応じてaの値を決定する。
また、映像信号がRGB信号である場合、重み付け平均は、RGB信号の各々に対して行えばよい。
次に、本実施の形態に係る表示装置10の作用及び効果について、比較例の表示装置と比較しながら説明する。ここでは、比較例の表示装置として、本実施の形態に係る表示装置10から処理回路20を取り除いた表示装置を用いる。
本実施の形態に係る処理回路20の変形例について説明する。本実施の形態に係る処理回路20においては、処理回路20における処理を簡素化するために、重み付け平均において用いられる重みaを定数としたが、重みaは定数でなくてもよい。本変形例では、重みaは、輝度IN(n)の関数である。以下、このような重みaについて図13を用いて説明する。図13は、本変形例に係る重みaと輝度IN(n)との関係を示すグラフである。

Claims (8)
- 各々が自発光素子を含む複数の画素を有する表示パネルと、前記複数の画素に供給される電流を制限する電流制限回路とを有する表示装置用の映像信号を処理する処理回路であって、
前記処理回路に入力される現フレームの前のフレームである前フレームの前記複数の画素に対応する前記映像信号を記憶するフレームメモリと、
前記複数の画素に含まれる一つの画素に対応する前記現フレームの前記映像信号が示す輝度と、前記一つの画素に対応する前記前フレームの前記映像信号が示す輝度とを比較し、前記現フレームの前記映像信号が示す輝度が、前記前フレームの前記映像信号が示す輝度以下であるか、又は、所定の閾値以下である場合には、前記一つの画素に対応する前記現フレームの前記映像信号をそのまま出力し、それ以外の場合には、前記一つの画素に対応する前記現フレームの前記映像信号と前記前フレームの前記映像信号との重み付け平均を出力する信号処理部とを備える

前記複数の画素に含まれる一つの画素に対応する前記現フレームの前記映像信号が示す輝度と、前記一つの画素に対応する前記前フレームの前記映像信号が示す輝度とを比較し、前記現フレームの前記映像信号が示す輝度が、前記前フレームの前記映像信号が示す輝度以下であるか、又は、所定の閾値以下である場合には、前記一つの画素に対応する前記現フレームの前記映像信号をそのまま出力し、それ以外の場合には、前記一つの画素に対応する前記現フレームの前記映像信号と前フレームの前記映像信号との重み付け平均を出力するステップとを含む
