式中、パラメータは、式Iに述べられた意味を有し、かつL13およびL14は、互いに無関係に、HまたはFを意味し、かつ好ましくは
R1は、7までのC原子を有するn-アルキルを意味し、
X1は、F、Cl、6までのC原子を有するハロゲン化されたアルキルまたはハロゲン化されたアルコキシを意味し、
L11~L14は、それぞれ互いに無関係に、HまたはFを意味する。
X1は、特に好ましくは、F、Cl、CF3、OCF3、またはOCHF2である。
式中、R1は、1~7のC原子を有するn-アルキルを意味する。
全く特に好ましくは、この媒体は、式I-1bの少なくとも1つの化合物を含む。
式中、パラメータは、式Iに述べられた意味を有し、かつ好ましくは

Z3は、出現することに、互いに無関係に、-CH2CH2-、-COO-、トランス-CH=CH-、トランス-CF=CF-、-CH2O-、-C≡C-または単結合を意味し、好ましくは1つまたは両方は、単結合を意味する。

L31およびL32は、互いに無関係に、HまたはFを意味し、
X3は、F、Cl、6までのC原子を有するハロゲン化されたアルキルまたはハロゲン化されたアルコキシ、好ましくはFまたはOCF3を意味する。

R41およびR42は、互いに無関係に、1~7のC原子を有するn-アルキルを意味し、かつ
L4は、HまたはF、好ましくはFを意味する。

R51およびR52は、互いに無関係に、上述の式IIにおいてR2について述べた意味を有し、好ましくはR51はアルキルを意味し、かつR52はアルキルまたはアルケニルを意味し、
rは、0、1または2、好ましくは1または2、特に好ましくは1を意味する。
式中、R51およびR52は、それぞれ上述の式Vにおいて述べた意味を有し、かつ好ましくはアルキルを意味する。
- 媒体は、式Iの1以上の化合物を、40~70%、好ましくは40~60%、特に好ましくは40%~50%の範囲内の全体濃度で含む。
- 媒体中の式IIの化合物の全体濃度は、18~50%、好ましくは23~45%、特に好ましくは30~40%である。
- 媒体は、式II-1bの1以上の化合物を、10~35%、好ましくは12~30%、特に好ましくは15~25%の全体濃度で含む。
- 媒体中の式IV-1、IV-2、IV-3、IV-4、IV-5およびIV-6の化合物の全体濃度は、3~20%、好ましくは5~18%、特に好ましくは8%~16%である。好ましくは、媒体は、式IV-5の少なくとも1つの化合物を含む。
- 式IV-7、IV-8、IV-9、IV-10、IV-11、IV-12およびIV-13の化合物の全体濃度は、2~20%、好ましくは4~16%、特に好ましくは6~13%である。好ましくは、媒体は、式IV-8またはIV-11の少なくとも1つの化合物を含む。
- 媒体は、化合物CCGU-n-F、CCCG-n-F、CCCQU-n-F、CCCQU-n-OTおよびCDUQU-n-Fの群から選択される1以上の化合物を含む(頭文字の意味は、下記の表AおよびBから推知することができる)。
- 媒体中の不飽和側鎖(つまりRが、アルケニルまたはアルキニルを意味する)を有する化合物の割合は、0~10%、好ましくは0~5%、特に好ましくは0~2%である。
上述の範囲内の適切な量比は、各場合に応じて容易に決定することができる。

Claims (11)
- 正の誘電異方性を有する極性化合物の混合物を基礎とする液晶媒体において、前記媒体は、式I-1~I-5
R1は、1~15のC原子を有するアルキル基またはアルコキシ基を意味し、前記基中で、1以上のH原子はFに置き換えられていてもよく、かつ1以上のCH2基は、それぞれ互いに無関係に、
L11、L12、L13およびL14は、互いに無関係に、HまたはFを意味し、
X1は、F、Cl、CN、6までのC原子を有するハロゲン化されたアルキル基、ハロゲン化されたアルケニル基、ハロゲン化されたアルコキシ基、またはハロゲン化されたアルケニルオキシ基を意味する]
の化合物の群から選択される1以上の化合物を≧40%の全体濃度で含み、且つ、
前記媒体は、式II-1~II-14
R 2 は、1~7のC原子を有するアルキル基を意味し、
L 21 およびL 22 は、互いに無関係に、HまたはFを意味し、
X 2 は、F、Cl、CN、6までのC原子を有するハロゲン化されたアルキル基、またはハロゲン化されたアルコキシ基を意味する]
の化合物の群から選択される1以上の化合物を18%~50%の全体濃度で含み、
前記媒体は、さらに、式IV-8及び/又は式IV-11
R 41 およびR 42 は、互いに無関係に、1~7のC原子を有するn-アルキルを意味し、かつ
L 4 は、HまたはFを意味する、
で示される化合物の少なくとも1つを6~13%の濃度範囲で含み、
更に120℃を超える透明点を有することを特徴とする、液晶媒体。 - 前記媒体は、さらに、式IV-5で示される化合物の少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする、請求項4記載の媒体。
- 請求項1から5までのいずれか1項記載の液晶媒体の、電気光学目的のための使用。
- 自動車用の照明装置のための液晶光バルブまたは液晶表示装置中での請求項6記載の使用。
- 請求項1から5までのいずれか1項記載の液晶媒体を含む電気光学部品。
- 前記部品は液晶光バルブであることを特徴とする、請求項8記載の電気光学部品。
- 請求項9記載の液晶光バルブを含む、自動車用の照明装置。
- 請求項9記載の液晶光バルブを含む液晶表示装置。
