Description
Claims (4)
- 画像表示要素および透明なディスプレイカバーを備える多色画素化ディスプレイであって、
前記画像表示要素は、各々が、それぞれ専用の表示色成分に関連する複数の表示サブピクセルにそれぞれ分けられた表示画素のアレイを備え、多数の表示画素にわたる所定の色成分の前記表示サブピクセルは、その所定の色成分のサブピクセルアレイを形成し、
前記透明なディスプレイカバーは、表示面およびスパークル低減面を備え、
前記スパークル低減面は、前記多色画素化ディスプレイの光路に沿って、前記画像表示要素と前記表示面との間に配置され、かつ光学距離Dだけ前記画像表示要素から離間され、
前記スパークル低減面は、複数の前記表示サブピクセルによって放射された光を少なくとも1つの方向へある距離X1にわたって拡散させるテキスチャを有するマイクロメートル級の回折素子を備え、当該ある距離X1とは、前記表示面において、1つの表示サブピクセルのサイズよりも大きく、かつ前記表示画素のアレイの画素ピッチxよりも小さい、距離であり、ここで前記1つの表示サブピクセルのサイズとは前記画素ピッチxの1/3であり、
前記回折素子はランダムな位相パターンを含むとともに、前記回折素子は5マイクロメートルから50マイクロメートルの間の回折周期Tによって特徴づけられ、当該回折周期Tは、以下の関係
- 前記ランダムな位相パターンは、拡散角度エネルギ分布が、前記表示画素の画素サイズを前記光学距離Dによって除したものに等しい回折コーンを伴う分布であるように選択された、カットオフ周波数を有し、ここで、前記ランダムな位相パターンは、画素化ディスプレイ内のサブピクセル間のギャップを充填することによってスパークルを低減することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の多色画素化ディスプレイ。
- 前記スパークル低減面に接触し且つ前記画像表示要素と前記透明なディスプレイカバーとの間の前記光路に沿って配置された部分屈折率整合媒体をさらに備え、前記部分屈折率整合媒体と前記透明なディスプレイカバーの前記スパークル低減面との界面は、0.02から0.3の屈折率の不一致と0.03%の反射係数を有することを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の多色画素化ディスプレイ。
- 方向Xに沿ったわずかな色画素デューティファクタと、前記方向Xに垂直な方向Yに沿った100%に近い色画素デューティファクタとを伴う異方性表示を定義するために、前記複数の表示サブピクセルは、前記表示画素のそれぞれの内部に配列されていることを特徴とする、請求項1、2、または3に記載の多色画素化ディスプレイ。
