本明細書に記載されているように、キャノーラ系統NS-B50027-4は安定して均一な育種系統である。これは植物の種類の均一性に細心の注意を払って育てられてきており、均一性について継続的に観察しながら系統を増やした。NS-B50027-4は、種子におけるLC-PUFA、特にLC-ω3脂肪酸、さらに特にはDHAの産生のために、特に識別される。キャノーラ系統NS-B50027-4は、系統NS-B50027-4の特許出願時に商品化された他のキャノーラ栽培品種の親ではない。

を含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載のキャノーラ植物。 - 請求項2に記載の植物、またはそれらの誘導体あるいはハイブリッドの少なくとも95%の種子を含む種子の集まりであって、
前記種子は、5乃至16%のドコサヘキサエン酸(DHA)(種子における全脂肪酸の重量%)、あるいは5乃至17%の長鎖多不飽和脂肪酸(種子における全脂肪酸の重量%としてのエイコサペンタエン酸、ドコサペンタエン酸、及びDHAの合計)を含む、
