Claims (11)
- 肺生検針であって、
近位端と、
遠位端と、
形状記憶材料からモノリシックに形成され、前記近位端と前記遠位端との間にわたる細長本体と、を備え、
前記細長本体は、第1の部分と、第2の部分と、前記第2の部分の遠位端を形成する穿刺端と、を有し、
前記第1の部分は、第1の可撓性レベルを有し、前記第2の部分は、前記第1の可撓性レベルよりも高い可撓性である第2の可撓性レベルを有し、
前記第2の部分は、前記第2の部分の第1の端と第2の端との間にわたる長さを有し、前記第2の部分の前記第2の可撓性レベルは、前記第2の部分の前記長さに沿って一定であり、
前記細長本体の前記第2の部分は、前記細長本体の前記第1の部分の遠位端の遠位側にあり、
前記細長本体は、前記近位端から前記穿刺端の始点にわたるルーメンを備え、前記ルーメンは一定の直径を有し、
前記細長本体の前記第1の部分は、前記第1の部分の近位端から前記第1の部分の前記遠位端にわたる長さに沿って一定である第1の外径を有し、前記細長本体の前記第2の部分は、前記第2の部分の近位端から前記第2の部分の遠位端にわたる長さに沿って一定である第2の外径を有し、前記第2の外径は、前記第1の外径よりも小さい、肺生検針。 - 前記第1の可撓性レベルは、3.0lbf/in(5.25×102N/m)から4.0lbf/in(7.00×102N/m)の間であり、前記第2の可撓性レベルは、0.1lbf/in(0.18×102N/m)から1.0lbf/in(1.75×102N/m)の間である、請求項1に記載の肺生検針。
- 前記細長本体は、前記第1の部分の前記遠位端と前記第2の部分の近位端との間にわたる移行部を備え、前記移行部は、その長さに沿って、前記第1の可撓性レベルから前記第2の可撓性レベルに徐々に移り変わる可撓性レベルを有する、請求項1に記載の肺生検針。
- 前記第1の部分は、前記第2の部分の長手中心軸と同心の長手中心軸を有する、請求項1に記載の肺生検針。
- 前記第1の部分は、前記第1の部分の第1の端から前記第1の部分の第2の端にわたる第1の長さに沿って一定の第1の壁厚を有し、前記第2の部分は、前記第1の壁厚よりも薄く、かつ、前記第2の部分の第1の端から前記第2の部分の第2の端にわたる第2の長さに沿って一定である第2の壁厚を有する、請求項1に記載の肺生検針。
- 前記第2の部分の近位端から前記第2の部分の遠位端にわたる前記細長本体の前記第2の部分の長さは、5インチ(12.7cm)から10インチ(25.4cm)の間である、請求項1に記載の肺生検針。
- 前記細長本体は、前記第1の部分の前記遠位端と前記第2の部分の近位端との間にわたる長さを有する移行部を備え、前記移行部の前記長さは、0.1インチ(0.25cm)から1.0インチ(2.54cm)の間である、請求項1に記載の肺生検針。
- 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の肺生検針を製造する方法であって、
前記細長本体の第1の端から前記細長本体の第2の端までの長さにわたる第1の壁厚を有する前記細長本体を前記形状記憶材料からモノリシックに形成するステップと、
前記第1の壁厚を有する前記細長本体の前記第1の部分から遠位方向に延びる、前記細長本体の第2の部分の壁厚を、前記第1の壁厚よりも薄い第2の壁厚に調整するステップと、
を備える方法。 - 移行部の壁厚を調整するステップであって、前記移行部の壁厚が、前記移行部の長さにわたって前記第1の壁厚から前記第2の壁厚に徐々に薄くなるように調整することをさらに備える、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記細長本体の前記第2の部分の壁厚を調整するステップは、前記第2の部分の外径を前記第1の部分の前記第1の外径から前記第2の外径に下げるために、前記第2の部分から材料を除去するステップを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の部分は一定の壁厚を有する、請求項8に記載の方法。
