Description
表4に記載のFC1およびF1~F19のフィルム形成組成物15~25グラムをそれぞれ、ステンレス鋼圧伸バーを使用してポリエチレンテレフタレート基材上にキャスティングして、76μmの目標厚さを有する乾燥フィルムを形成することによって、比較例C1および実施例1~19の各々でフィルムを調製した。圧伸フィルムを直ちに熱風乾燥器に移し、65~95℃で10~15分間乾燥して乾燥フィルムを形成した。次いで乾燥フィルムを炉から取り出し、数時間の間放置して室温に平衡化させた。フィルムが室温に平衡化されたら、フィルムをポリエチレンテレフタレート基材から剥離して、厚さ60~90μmの自立型フィルムを得た。
各自立型フィルムから試験片(幅0.5インチ×長さ1.5インチ)を採取し、20mLの水道水を有する別個の容器にそれらを入れ、市販の改質ポリ水酸化ビニルフィルム、ならびに比較例C1および実施例1~19からの自立型フィルムの冷水溶解度について試験した。試験片をおよそ2分間静置した後、容器を手で60秒間振盪した。次いで容器の内容物を、25μmメッシュスクリーンに通して濾過した。濾過前の容器内容物およびメッシュスクリーン上の残留物の観察に基づく以下の評価尺度を使用して、主題の自立型フィルムの全体的な冷水溶解度を特徴付けた。
優良≡透明な溶液、スクリーン上に残留物なし
非常に良好≡わずかな濁り、スクリーン上に残留物なし
良好≡少量の残留物/スクリーン上に微細な粒あり
普通≡大量の残留物/スクリーン上に粒あり
悪い≡スクリーン上に無傷の大きなフィルム断片あり
周囲温度(68~72°F)ならびに低い(18~23%の相対湿度)および高い(68~70%の相対湿度)状態での貯蔵後の、フィルムの脆性および粘着性または残留物について物理的に調べることによって、市販の改質ポリ水酸化ビニルフィルム、ならびに比較例C1および実施例1~19からの自立型フィルムの貯蔵安定性について試験した。合格/不合格の評価尺度を使用した。
合格≡フィルムは、1週間の間条件下で貯蔵した後も靭性および柔軟性を維持した。
不合格≡フィルムは、1週間の間条件下で貯蔵後に脆弱になる。
無し≡フィルム表面に油状残留物は観察されない
少量≡フィルム表面に少量の油状残留物が観察される
中程度≡フィルム表面に中程度の油状残留物が観察される
大量≡フィルム表面にかなりの量の油状残留物が観察される
水溶性容器を熱成形するのに有用であると考えられる水溶性フィルムの機械的特性としては、100%伸び時の引張応力が挙げられ、ヤング率および破断応力が、熱成形の成功のため、および必要量の液体洗剤を保持するフィルムの能力においても重要である。Tinius Olsenから入手可能なTinius Olsen Model H10K-Sベンチトップ材料試験機およびフィルム試料(長さ3.0インチ×幅0.5インチ)を使用して、市販の改質ポリ水酸化ビニルフィルムならびに比較例C1および実施例1~19からの自立型フィルムの機械的特性を測定した。引張試験は、ASTM D882に従って、試験速度20インチ/分で1.2インチのゲージ長さを使用し、温度および湿度が71°Fおよび相対湿度53%の温度および湿度が制御された部屋の周囲条件下で実施した。100%伸び時の引張応力とヤング率(弾性率としても知られる)との比によって得られる弾性指数を使用して、弾性(回復可能)または塑性(回復不可能)変形を受けるフィルムの能力を予測した。弾性指数の評価尺度は以下の通りである。
優良≡0.5以上
非常に良好≡0.4~0.49
良好≡0.3~0.39
普通≡0.2~0.29
悪い≡0.19以下
比較例PC2および実施例P1~P19の各々の単位用量パウチを、表8に示されるフィルム組成を有するフィルムから3インチ×2インチに切断された2つのフィルム片から手で調製した。フィルム片を積み重ね、3つの端部に沿って一緒にヒートシールして開口パウチを形成した。次いで、開口パウチを20gの洗剤で満たした。次いで、パウチの第4の(開口)端部を次いでヒートシールして、完成した単位用量パウチを形成した。
次いで、単位用量パウチを小さなジップロックバッグに入れ、37℃および相対湿度70%の環境で14日間貯蔵した。次いで、フィルム破損のいくつかの兆候について単位用量パウチを評価した。観察結果を、表8に提供する。
14日間の貯蔵後、各単位用量パウチを水道水で満たした1Lのボトルに入れた。次いで、1Lボトルの内容物を撹拌棒で30分間撹拌し、次いで25μmメッシュスクリーンに通してボトル内容物を濾過することによって、パウチ溶解度について評価した。濾過前のボトル内容物およびメッシュスクリーン上の残留物の観察に基づく以下の評価尺度を使用して、主題の自立型フィルムの全体的な冷水溶解度を特徴付けた。

Claims (10)
- 34~70重量%の部分的に加水分解されたポリ酢酸ビニルと、
10~15重量%の20,000~2,000,000ダルトンの重量平均分子量を有するポリ(エチレンオキシド)と、
1~35重量%の250~5,300ダルトンの重量平均分子量を有するポリアルキレングリコールと、
0.5~25重量%の可塑剤であって、前記ポリ(エチレンオキシド)および前記ポリアルキレングリコール以外の有機トリオール、ジオールおよびグリコールから選択される可塑剤と、
1~10重量%のポリ(イソブチレン-co-無水マレイン酸)コポリマーであって、前記ポリ(イソブチレン-co-無水マレイン酸)コポリマーが少なくとも部分的に中和されている、ポリ(イソブチレン-co-無水マレイン酸)コポリマーと、
0.01~1.8重量%のポリビニルピロリドンと、
10重量%以下の添加剤であって、0.1~0.5重量%のナノクレイおよび1~7.5重量%の消泡剤を含む添加剤と、を含む、自立型フィルム。 - 前記自立型フィルムが、
1~7.5重量%の前記ポリ(イソブチレン-co-無水マレイン酸)コポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載の自立型フィルム。 - 前記部分的に加水分解されたポリ酢酸ビニル対前記ポリビニルピロリドンの重量比が、>10:1である、請求項2に記載の自立型フィルム。
- 前記自立型フィルムが、架橋剤を含む、請求項3に記載の自立型フィルム。
- 前記自立型フィルムが、
0.05~0.2重量%の前記ポリビニルピロリドン、
0.1~0.5重量%の前記ナノクレイ、および
3~7重量%の前記消泡剤を含有する、請求項4に記載の自立型フィルム。 - 前記自立型フィルムが、冷水可溶性である、請求項1に記載の自立型フィルム。
- 前記自立型フィルムが、空洞を形成する、請求項1に記載の自立型フィルム。
- 前記空洞が、前記自立型フィルムによって封入されている、請求項7に記載の自立型フィルム。
- 請求項1に記載の自立型フィルムと、
洗剤配合物であって、
14~60重量%の界面活性剤、
3~25重量%の塩、および
20~75重量%の水、を含む、洗剤配合物とを含み、
前記自立型フィルムが空洞を形成し、前記洗剤配合物が前記空洞内に配置され、前記洗剤配合物が前記自立型フィルムと接触している、単位用量パッケージ。 - 前記自立型フィルムが前記空洞を封入している、請求項9に記載の単位用量パッケージ。
