Description
基材と、その基材に接着されたホットメルト接着剤組成物とを含み、
ホットメルト接着剤が、接着領域に弾性を付与する、弾性複合材料を特徴とする。
弾性複合材料は、第1の基材及びホットメルト接着剤組成物を含み得る。ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、第1の基材に弾性を付与する。
接着剤組成物は、ホットメルト接着剤である。接着剤は、感圧性接着剤であってよい。接着剤組成物は、色が薄くてよく、また良好な熱安定性を有し得る。接着剤は、製造後に約3未満、又は更には約2未満の初期ガードナー色を有してよい。あるいは、接着剤は、例えばピンク、青、白などの不透明色に着色されてもよい。
第1のスチレンブロックコポリマー
ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、少なくとも約15g/10分(190℃、2.16kg)、少なくとも約20g/10分(190℃、2.16kg)、少なくとも約30g/10分(190℃、2.16kg)、少なくとも約50g/10分(190℃、2.16kg)、又は更には約15~約200のメルトフローレイトを有する第1のスチレンブロックコポリマーを含む。第1のスチレンブロックコポリマーは、約10重量%以下、約5重量%以下、約3重量%以下、又は更には約1重量%以下のジブロック含量を有する。
接着剤は、粘着付与剤を含む。粘着付与剤は、室温で流体であっても、固体であってもよい。好適な粘着付与剤の分類としては、例えば、芳香族、脂肪族、及び脂環式の炭化水素樹脂、混合芳香族及び脂肪族修飾炭化水素樹脂、芳香族修飾脂肪族炭化水素樹脂、並びにこれらの水添物;テルペン、修飾テルペン、及びこれらの水添物;天然ロジン、修飾ロジン、ロジンエステル、及びこれらの水添物;低分子量ポリ乳酸、及びこれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。有用な天然ロジン及び修飾ロジンの例としては、ガムロジン、ウッドロジン、トール油ロジン、蒸留ロジン、水添ロジン、二量体化ロジン、及び重合ロジンが挙げられる。有用なロジンエステルの例としては、例えば、ペールウッドロジンのグリセロールエステル、水添ロジンのグリセロールエステル、重合ロジンのグリセロールエステル、ペールウッドロジンのペンタエリスリトールエステルを含む天然ロジン及び修飾ロジンのペンタエリスリトールエステル、水添ロジンのペンタエリスリトールエステル、トール油ロジンのペンタエリスリトールエステル、並びにロジンのフェノール修飾ペンタスリトリトールエステルが挙げられる。
接着剤組成物は、可塑剤を含んでいてよい。あるいは、接着剤は、可塑剤を含んでいなくてもよい(すなわち、可塑剤を含有していなくてもよい)。好適な可塑剤としては、例えば、ナフテン系油、パラフィン系油(例えば、シクロパラフィン油)、鉱油、フタル酸エステル、アジピン酸エステル、オレフィンオリゴマー(例えば、ポリプロピレン、ポリブテン、及び水添ポリイソプレンのオリゴマー)、ポリブテン、ポリイソプレン、水添ポリイソプレン、ポリブタジエン、安息香酸エステル、動物油、植物油(例えば、ヒマシ油、大豆油(例えば、高オレイン酸大豆油))、油の誘導体、脂肪酸のグリセロールエステル、ポリエステル、ポリエーテル、乳酸誘導体、及びこれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。
接着剤組成物は、ワックスを含み得る。有用なワックスの分類としては、例えば、パラフィンワックス、マイクロクリスタリンワックス、高密度低分子量ポリエチレンワックス、副生ポリエチレンワックス、ポリプロピレンワックス、フィッシャー・トロプシュワックス、フィッシャー・トロプシュ酸化ワックス、官能化ワックス(例えば、酸ワックス、無水ワックス、及びヒドロキシ修飾ワックス)、動物性ワックス、植物性ワックス(例えば、大豆ワックス)、及びこれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。有用なワックスは、室温で固体であり、好ましくは、50℃~170℃の環球式軟化点を有する。有用なワックスは、Westlake Chemical Corporation(Houston,Texas)製の商標名EPOLENE Nシリーズ及びCシリーズ(例えば、EPOLENE N-21を含む)、並びにClariant International Ltd.(Muttenz,Switzerland)製の商標名LICOCENEシリーズ(例えば、TP LICOCENE PP 6102を含む)を含む、様々な供給業者から市販されている。
接着剤組成物は、任意に、追加のポリマー(例えば、単一部位触媒ポリオレフィン、非晶質ポリαオレフィン、ポリエチレンホモポリマー/コポリマー、及びポリプロピレンホモポリマー/コポリマー)を含む。有用な追加のポリマーとしては、ExxonMobil Chemical(Houston,Texas)から入手可能なVISTAMAXX 6102(プロピレン/エチレンコポリマー)及びRextac LLC(Odessa,Texas)から入手可能なREXTAC 2730(非晶質ポリαオレフィン)が挙げられる。
接着剤組成物は、任意に、例えば、安定剤、酸化防止剤、接着促進剤、紫外線安定剤、腐食阻害剤、臭気吸収剤/中和剤、着色剤(例えば、顔料及び染料)、芳香剤、充填剤(例えば、ナノ粒子、粘土、タルク)、界面活性剤、湿潤指示剤、超吸収剤、共押出コーティング、加工助剤、及びこれらの組み合わせを含む追加の成分を含む。
本発明の接着剤組成物及び弾性複合材料は、パーソナルケア衣類、外科用衣類、及び産業労働者用衣類を含む、任意の好適な物品に組み込むことができる。
実施例及び明細書全体を通して用いられる試験手順は、特に明記しない限り、以下のものを含む。
粘度は、ASTM D-3236、表題「Standard Test Method for Apparent viscosity of Adhesives and Coating Materials」(1988年10月31日)に従い、Brookfield Thermosel粘度計モデルRVDV 2及び27号のスピンドルを用いて決定する。結果は、センチポアズ(cps)で報告する。
メルトフローレイトは、指定の条件下でASTM D 1238に従って実施した。
80.6℃(177°F)の塗布温度、103キロパスカル(kPa)(15ポンド/平方インチ(PSI))のニップ圧、及び少なくとも0.1m/s(20フィート/分)の走行速度にて、2枚の不織布*基材間に弾性接着剤組成物を連続スロットコーティングすることによって、試験用積層体を調製した。積層体は、100gsm(対照1~2、実施例3~5)及び130gsm(実施例1~2)の接着剤コート重量で調製し、接着剤の幅は、少なくとも8センチメートル(3インチ)であった。少なくとも152センチメートル(60インチ)の代表的な積層体を試験用に確保し得るように、十分な量の積層体を調製した。
上記の試験用積層体調製方法に従って2枚の基材間に接着剤をコーティングすることによって、試験用積層体を調製した。引き剥がし力は、ASTM D1876に記載のように10秒間にわたって25センチメートル/分(10インチ/分)の代わりに30センチメートル/分(12インチ/分)の速度で試験を実行し、10個の代わりに7個の複製物を用いて実行したことを除いて、ASTM D1876-01、表題「Test Method for Determining Peel Resistance of Adhesive(T-Peel Test Method)」を使用して決定する。サンプルは、INSTRON型試験装置で試験する。試験用サンプルは、幅2.5センチメートル(1インチ)及び長さ少なくとも10センチメートル(4インチ)である。10秒間にわたる引き剥がしによる平均引き剥がし力を記録し、結果をグラムで報告する。積層体を調製した少なくとも24時間後に、初期引き剥がし力を測定する。
上記の試験用積層体調製方法に従って2枚の基材間に接着剤をコーティングすることによって、試験用積層体を調製した。幅2.5センチメートル(1インチ)及び長さ少なくとも8センチメートル(3インチ)に、クロスウェブ方向に積層体を切断することによって試験用サンプルを調製した。不織布積層体を調製した少なくとも24時間後に、試験を実施する。
試験は、伸長及び収縮の両方について、51センチメートル/分(20インチ/分)のクロスヘッド速度を有するINSTRON型試験装置を用いて実施する。試験試料の幅は5センチメートル(2インチ)である。また、グリップ分離も5センチメートル(2インチ)に設定する。サンプル試験セットは、通常、5つの複製物からなる。弾性材は、10ニュートンの力に達するまでグリップによって引き伸ばされる。その時点で、試料を30秒間保持し、次いで、試料が初期ギャップ設定の5センチメートル(2インチ)に戻る点まで収縮させる。回収したデータは、試料が10ニュートンにおける伸長率(mm/mm及び/又はパーセント)である。30秒間保持している間、力は経時的に減少し、力の損失の程度をニュートン(N)で力緩和として報告する。30秒間の保持時間が経過した後、試料を5センチメートル(2インチ)のギャップに戻す。試料の歪み率(%)は、弾性材に対する力がゼロに近づくにつれてクロスヘッドが元のギャップに戻った直後の試料の伸長率(%)によって決定された、5センチメートル(2インチ)の試料の長さのずれによって測定される。
ポリマー実施例1は、30重量%のスチレンを含有し、168g/10分(190℃、2.16kg)のMFRを有する、ジブロック<1重量%のSISトリブロックコポリマーである。
Claims (13)
- 弾性複合材料であって、
第1及び第2の不織布と、
前記第1の不織布と前記第2の不織布との間にあることにより、前記第1及び第2の不織布を互いに恒久的に接着させ、かつ接着領域に弾性を付与する、ホットメルト接着剤組成物と、を含み、
前記ホットメルト接着剤組成物が、少なくとも15g/10分(190℃、2.16kg)のメルトフローレイト及び10重量%以下のジブロック含量並びに不飽和中間ブロックを有する第1のスチレンブロックコポリマーを少なくとも15重量%含み、
前記ホットメルト接着剤組成物が粘着付与剤を15重量%~50重量%含み、
前記ホットメルト接着剤組成物が、177℃で20,000cps以下の粘度を有する、弾性複合材料。 - 2ピークヒステリシス試験法により50%の歪みを与えた第1のサイクル後の永久歪みが10%以下である、請求項1に記載の弾性複合材料。
- 前記ホットメルト接着剤組成物が、177℃で5,000cps以下の粘度を有する、請求項1に記載の弾性複合材料。
- 前記第1のスチレンブロックコポリマーが、少なくとも18重量%のスチレン含量を有する、請求項1に記載の弾性複合材料。
- 前記ホットメルト接着剤組成物が5~30重量%の可塑剤を更に含む、請求項1に記載の弾性複合材料。
- 前記不織布が、クロスウェブ方向に100%を超えて伸張可能である、請求項1に記載の弾性複合材料。
- 請求項1に記載の弾性複合材料を含む、使い捨て物品。
- 前記弾性複合材料が、耳部、ウエストバンド、腹帯、及びサイドパネルからなる群から選択される用途において使用される、請求項7に記載の使い捨て物品。
- おむつ、成人失禁用製品、女性用衛生製品、及び医療用包帯からなる群から選択される、請求項7に記載の使い捨て物品。
- 接着した弾性化領域を作製するために用いることができるホットメルト接着剤組成物であって、
50重量%~70重量%のスチレンブロックコポリマーであって、前記組成物の重量に基づいて少なくとも20重量%の、少なくとも15g/10分(190℃、2.16kg)のメルトフローレイト及び10重量%以下のジブロック含量並びに不飽和中間ブロックを有する第1のスチレンブロックコポリマーを含む、スチレンブロックコポリマーと、
15重量%~50重量%の粘着付与剤と、
5重量%~30重量%の可塑剤と、を含み、
177℃で20,000cps以下の粘度を有する、ホットメルト接着剤組成物。 - 前記ホットメルト接着剤組成物が、5以下の粘度比(149℃における粘度(cps)/177℃における粘度(cps))を有する、請求項10に記載のホットメルト接着剤。
- 177℃で15,000cps以下の粘度を有する、請求項10に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。

不織布と、
前記不織布に接着された請求項10に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物と、を含み、
