Description

a)少なくとも0.125である窒素/炭素(N/C)比、及び/又は
b)前記炭素繊維の表面上にアミン官能化ポリマーが電解グラフトされていない元の炭素繊維と比較して、約50〜3,000%である窒素表面濃度の増加
を特徴とする、複合炭素繊維。
Claims (21)
- 表面上にアミン官能化ポリマーがグラフトされた炭素繊維を含む、複合炭素繊維であって、
前記アミン官能化ポリマーが、前記炭素繊維の表面に共有結合しており、
前記複合炭素繊維が、表面上にアミン官能化ポリマーがグラフトされていない元の炭素繊維の窒素表面濃度の1.5倍以上大きい窒素表面濃度を有する、
複合炭素繊維。 - 前記複合炭素繊維が、少なくとも0.125、少なくとも0.150、又は0.15〜0.3、又は0.15〜0.2である窒素/炭素(N/C)比を有する、請求項1に記載の複合炭素繊維。
- 前記複合炭素繊維が、表面上にアミン官能化ポリマーがグラフトされていない元の炭素繊維と比較して、少なくとも75%、少なくとも100%、少なくとも125%、少なくとも150%、少なくとも175%、少なくとも200%、又は少なくとも250%増大した窒素表面濃度を有する、請求項1または2に記載の複合炭素繊維。
- 前記複合炭素繊維が、表面上にアミン官能化ポリマーがグラフトされていない元の炭素繊維と比較して、少なくとも495%増大した窒素表面濃度を有する、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の複合炭素繊維。
- 前記複合炭素繊維が、表面上にアミン官能化ポリマーがグラフトされていない元の炭素繊維と比較して、50〜500%増大した窒素表面濃度を有する、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の複合炭素繊維。
- 前記複合炭素繊維が、表面上にアミン官能化ポリマーがグラフトされていない元の炭素繊維と比較して、100〜500%、150〜500%、200〜500%、100〜250%、又は125〜200%増大した窒素表面濃度を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の複合炭素繊維。
- 前記アミン官能化ポリマーが、直鎖ポリエチレンイミン(PEI)、分枝ポリエチレンイミン(PEI)、分枝ポリプロピレンイミン、直鎖ポリ(アリルアミン)(PAA)、ポリアミドアミン(PAMAM)デンドリマー、ポリ(アリルアミン)をジビニルベンゼンによって分枝させることにより調製された分枝ポリ(アリルアミン)(PAADVB)及びブロックコポリマー、コア−シェル粒子並びにその組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の複合炭素繊維。
- 前記アミン官能化ポリマーが分枝ポリエチレンイミンを含む、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の複合炭素繊維。
- 前記炭素繊維が少なくとも400ksiの引張強度、または600〜1,050ksiの引張強度を有する、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の複合炭素繊維。
- 前記アミン官能化ポリマーが5,000〜35,000の範囲に及ぶ重量平均分子量を有する、請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の複合炭素繊維。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の複合炭素繊維を含む、繊維強化複合材料。
- 表面上にアミン官能化ポリマーがグラフトされた炭素繊維を含む複合炭素繊維、及び前記炭素繊維に注入された樹脂マトリックスを含む繊維強化複合材料であって、ショートビーム剪断(SBS)試験によって特徴付けられるように、17〜25ksi、又は20〜22ksiの層間強度を示し、
前記アミン官能化ポリマーが、前記炭素繊維の表面に共有結合しており、
前記複合炭素繊維が、表面上にアミン官能化ポリマーがグラフトされていない元の炭素繊維の窒素表面濃度の1.5倍以上大きい窒素表面濃度を有する、
繊維強化複合材料。 - 前記繊維強化複合材料が、前記炭素繊維の表面がアミン官能化ポリマーを含まないことを除いて前記炭素繊維が同一である、同様の繊維強化複合材料と比較して、5〜25%の範囲に及ぶ増大したSBSを有する、請求項11または12に記載の繊維強化複合材料。
- 複合炭素繊維の表面が、0.15〜0.3である窒素/炭素(N/C)比を有する、請求項11〜13のいずれかに記載の繊維強化複合材料。
- 前記樹脂がエポキシ系樹脂、ビスマレイミド系樹脂、シアナートエステル系樹脂及びフェノール系樹脂からなる群から選択される、請求項12〜14のいずれかに記載の繊維強化複合材料。
- 前記炭素繊維が600から1,050ksiの引張強度を有する、請求項12から15のいずれかに記載の繊維強化複合材料。
- 前記アミン官能化ポリマーが、直鎖ポリエチレンイミン(PEI)、分枝ポリエチレンイミン(PEI)、分枝ポリプロピレンイミン、直鎖ポリ(アリルアミン)(PAA)、ポリアミドアミン(PAMAM)デンドリマー、ポリ(アリルアミン)をジビニルベンゼンによって分枝させることにより調製された分枝ポリ(アリルアミン)(PAADVB)並びにその組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項12〜16のいずれかに記載の繊維強化複合材料。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の複合炭素繊維を作製する方法であって、
アミン官能化ポリマーを含む槽に炭素繊維を通過させること、
セルに電位を印加すること、及び
前記アミン官能化ポリマーを前記炭素繊維上に電解グラフトして、表面上にアミン官能化ポリマーが電解グラフトされた複合炭素繊維を製造すること、
を含む、方法。 - 前記複合炭素繊維が0.15〜0.3、0.15〜0.2、又は0.165〜0.195である炭素/窒素(N/C)比を示す、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記アミン官能化ポリマーが、直鎖ポリエチレンイミン(PEI)、分枝ポリエチレンイミン(PEI)、分枝ポリプロピレンイミン、直鎖ポリ(アリルアミン)(PAA)、ポリアミドアミン(PAMAM)デンドリマー、ポリ(アリルアミン)をジビニルベンゼン(PAADVB)によって分枝させることにより調製された分枝ポリ(アリルアミン)並びにその組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項18または19のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記アミン官能化ポリマーを前記炭素繊維上に電解グラフトするステップが、30秒〜2分間の期間にわたって、又は45秒から90秒の期間にわたって継続する、請求項18〜20のいずれかに記載の方法。
