Description
本発明に関し、下記の用語は以下に記載する意味を有するものである。
接着剤組成物は、ホットメルト接着剤組成物である。ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、感圧接着剤であってよい。ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、製造後の初期ガードナー色数が約3未満、更には約2未満でもよい。ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、少ない匂いを有し得る。
ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、2つの異なるプロピレン系ポリマーを含む。2つの異なるプロピレン系ポリマーは、1つ又は2つ以上の他のモノマー(例えば、エチレン、ブテン、ペンテン、ヘキサン、オクテンなど)を有するコポリマーである。一実施形態では、ポリマーの少なくとも一方は、プロピレンエチレンコポリマーである。プロピレン系ポリマーは、完全にオレフィンに基づくことができ、すなわちいずれの官能基も含まない。プロピレン系ポリマーは、75重量%を超えるプロピレン、又は更には80重量%を超えるプロピレンを含み得る。プロピレン系ポリマーは、多分散性(Mw/Mn)が約5未満、約3未満、又は更には約2であってよい。有用なプロピレン系ポリマーとしては、シングルサイト(例えば、メタロセン)触媒によるプロピレン系ポリマー及び非晶性ポリαオレフィン(APAO)が挙げられる。
第1のプロピレン系ポリマーは、シングルサイト触媒によるポリマーであってよい。一実施形態では、第1のプロピレン系ポリマーは、シングルサイト触媒によるプロピレンエチレンコポリマーである。第1のプロピレン系コポリマーは、コモノマー含量が約5重量%〜約20重量%、約6重量%〜約15重量%、又は更には約7%〜約12重量%である。
第2のプロピレン系コポリマーは、シングルサイト触媒によるポリマー及びAPAOポリマーからなる群から選択される。第2のプロピレン系コポリマーは、Tgが−26℃以下、−28℃以下、又は更には−30℃以下である。
ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、可塑剤を含む。適当な可塑剤としては、例えば、ナフテン系オイル、パラフィン系オイル(例えば、シクロパラフィンオイル)、鉱油、フタル酸エステル、アジピン酸エステル、オレフィンオリゴマー(例えば、ポリプロピレンオリゴマー、ポリブテンオリゴマー、及び水素添加ポリイソプレンオリゴマー)、ポリブテン、ポリイソプレン、水素添加ポリイソプレン、ポリブタジエン、安息香酸エステル、動物油、植物油(例えば、ヒマシ油、大豆油)、オイル誘導体、脂肪酸のグリセロールエステル、ポリエステル、ポリエーテル、乳酸誘導体及びこれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。
ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、粘着付与剤を含む。粘着付与剤は、接着剤の匂いを改善するために少なくとも部分的に水素化することができる。粘着付与剤は、室温下で液体状でもよいし、固体状でもよい。好適な粘着付与剤の種類としては、芳香族炭化水素樹脂、脂肪族炭化水素樹脂、脂環式炭化水素樹脂、混合芳香族炭化水素樹脂、脂肪族変性炭化水素樹脂、芳香族変性脂肪族炭化水素樹脂、及びそれらの水添化合物と、テルペン、変性テルペン、及びそれらの水素化物;天然ロジン、変性ロジン、ロジンエステル、及びそれらの水素化物;低分子量ポリ乳酸、及びそれらの混合物等と、が挙げられる。有用な天然ロジン及び変性ロジンの例としては、ガムロジン、ウッドロジン、トール油ロジン、蒸留ロジン、水素化ロジン、二量化ロジン、及び重合ロジンが挙げられる。有用なロジンエステルの例としては、例えばペールウッドロジンのグリセロールエステル、水素化ロジンのグリセロールエステル、重合ロジンのグリセロールエステル、ペールウッドロジンのペンタエリトリトールエステル、水素化ロジンのペンタエリトリトールエステル、トール油ロジンのペンタエリトリトールエステル、及びロジンのフェノール変性ペンタエリトリトールエステルを含む天然並びに変性ロジンのペンタエリトリトールエステルが挙げられる。
ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、ワックスを含まなくてもよく、あるいはホットメルト接着剤組成物は、ワックスを含んでもよい。有用なワックスの種類としては、例えば、パラフィンワックス、微結晶性ワックス、高密度低分子量ポリエチレンワックス、副生ポリエチレンワックス、ポリプロピレンワックス、フィッシャー・トロプシュワックス、フィッシャー・トロプシュ酸化ワックス、官能化ワックス(例えば、酸ワックス、無水ワックス、及びヒドロキシル変性ワックスなど)、動物性ワックス、植物性ワックス(例えば、大豆ワックス)、及びそれらの混合物などが挙げられる。有用なワックスは、室温において固体であり、好ましくは環球式軟化点が50℃〜170℃である。ワックスは、メトラー軟化点(ASTM D 6092)が130℃超、140℃超、又は更には150℃超であるプロピレン系ワックスであってよい。有用なワックスは、例えばEPOLENE N−21、EPOLENE N−15を含む、Westlake Chemical Corporation(Houston,Texas)よりEPOLENE Nシリーズ及びEPOLENE Cシリーズの商品名で販売されるもの、並びに例えばLICOCENE PP 6102、LICOCENE PP 6502 TP、及びLICOCENE PP 7502 TPを含む、Clariant International Ltd.(Muttenz,Switzerland)よりLICOCENEシリーズの商品名で販売されるものをはじめとする様々な供給業者により市販されている。
ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、場合により、例えば、安定化剤、酸化防止剤、追加ポリマー(例えば、スチレンブロックコポリマー、ポリエチレンコポリマー)、接着促進剤、紫外線安定化剤、腐食防止剤、着色剤(例えば、顔料及び色素)、充填剤、界面活性剤、濡れ指示剤、超吸収剤、及びこれらの組み合わせを含む追加成分を含む。
ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、例えばフィルム(例えばポリオレフィン(例えばポリエチレン及びポリプロピレン)フィルム)、剥離ライナー、多孔質基材、セルロース基材、シート(例えば紙及び繊維シート)、紙製品、織布及び不織布、繊維(例えば合成ポリマー繊維及びセルロース繊維)、弾性材、並びにテープ裏材をはじめとする使い捨て吸収性物品内の様々な基材に塗布する(すなわち接着剤組成物が基材と直接接触するように)か又はその様々な基材に含有させることができる。
ホットメルト接着剤組成物は、匂いが少なく、良好な結合力を有する。接着剤はまた、塗布量が少なくてもこの強度を維持する。これらの特性のため、接着剤は、使い捨て吸収性物品の構造において有用である。
実施例において、また、本明細書の全体を通じて用いられる試験手順は、特に断らないかぎりは以下のものを含む。
粘度は、表題が「Standard Test Method for Apparent viscosity of Adhesives and Coating Materials」であるASTM D−3236(1988年10月31日)に従い、ブルックフィールド社製のモデルRVDV2、スピンドル番号27のThermosel粘度計を用いて測定する。結果はセンチポアズ(cps)で記録する。
Tgは、標準セルRCを備えたTA Instruments Thermal Analysis−DSCを用いて示差走査熱量測定(DSC)により得た。以下の方法を用いた。報告値は、ステップ8において測定された中点Tgであった。

ホットメルト接着剤組成物(溶融状態)を試験して、ASTM D−1544に記述されているガードナー色数に対するサンプルの色を比較することより、ガードナー色を測定する。Pacific Scientific(メリーランド州ベセスダ)より入手可能な、イルミネータを備えたガードナー・デルタ・コンパレータを使用して比較を行う。
スロットコートアプリケータ及びラミネータを、表に示される塗布温度、41.4キロパスカル(6psi)のニップ圧、表に示される塗布重量、並びにフィルムを引き伸ばさないような最小巻き戻し張力及び巻き出し張力に設定する。連続スロットパターンは、幅7.6センチメートル(3.0インチ)である。一方の面を38ダイン/平方cm(ダイン/cm2)(ダインペンで測定したもの)の表面エネルギーとなるまでコロナ処理した、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンと低密度ポリエチレンとのブレンドを含む厚さ0.025mm(1mil)の白色エンボス加工ポリエチレンフィルム(例えば、Clopay Plastic Products Company,Inc.,(Cincinnati,Ohio)より販売される、0.046mm(1.8mils)(ASTM D374)のエンボスゲージ、70グラムのF50衝撃強度(ASTM D1709)、670%の機械方向の破断点伸び率(ASTM D882)、920%の機械横方向の破断点伸び率(ASTM D882)、機械方向の伸び率10%における張力590グラム(ASTM D882)、機械横方向の伸び率10%における張力550グラム(ASTM D882)、機械方向の最大張力2500(ASTM D882)、及び機械横方向の最大張力1700グラム(ASTM D882)を有するDH−284PE MICROFLEXエンボス加工非通気性フィルム、又はこれに相当するもの)を、アプリケータに通す。指定された接着剤の塗布量及びパターンをポリマーフィルムのコロナ処理面に塗布した後、このフィルムと接着剤を、0.18mm(7mil)のThwing−Albert厚さを有する坪量15g/平方メートル(g/m2)のスパンボンドポリプロピレン不織布ウェブ(例えば、Midwest Filtration Companyより販売されるUNIPRO 45不織布ウェブ)に対してニッピングして積層体を形成する。
T字剥離試験を用いて、2枚の可撓性基材間に塗布された接着剤の接着強度を測定する。T字剥離力は、ASTM D1876で指定される毎分25.4センチメートル(毎分10インチ)の代わりに毎分30.5センチメートル(毎分12インチ)で10秒間行い、10回の代わりに7回行う点以外は、表題が「Test Method for Determining Peel Resistance of Adhesive(T−Peel Test Method)」であるASTM D1876−01を使用して測定する。試料は、インストロン型試験機で試験する。特に断らないかぎり、試験の試料は、上記の「試料調製」で述べたのと同様にして調製する。10秒間の剥離にわたって平均の剥離力の値を記録し、結果をグラムの単位で記録する。積層体の作製の24時間後に初期T字剥離力の値を測定する。

Claims (15)
- ホットメルト接着剤組成物であって、
a.)コモノマー含量が5重量%〜20重量%、かつ、メルトインデックス(190℃、2.16kg)が20以下である第1のプロピレン系コポリマーと、
b.)Tgが−26℃以下、かつ、190℃におけるブルックフィールド粘度が20,000cps以下である、シングルサイト触媒によるポリマーである第2のプロピレン系コポリマーと、
c.)粘着付与剤と、
d.)22重量%以上の可塑剤と、を含む、ホットメルト接着剤組成物。 - 前記粘着付与剤が、少なくとも部分的に水素化された炭化水素樹脂である、請求項1に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。
- 前記可塑剤がナフテン系オイルである、請求項1に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。
- 前記粘着付与剤が35重量%以下で存在し、前記可塑剤が25重量%以上で存在する、請求項1に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。
- ワックスを更に含む、請求項1に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。
- 前記ワックスが、2重量%〜10重量%で存在するポリプロピレンワックスである、請求項5に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。
- 前記第1のプロピレン系コポリマー及び前記第2のプロピレン系コポリマーが、プロピレン及びエチレンのコポリマーである、請求項1に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。
- プロピレン系ポリマーの総量が、25重量%〜55重量%で存在する、請求項1に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。
- 前記第2のプロピレン系コポリマーの190℃における粘度が12,000cps以下である、請求項1に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。
- ホットメルト接着剤組成物であって、
a.)6重量%〜15重量%の、コモノマー含量が7重量%〜20重量%、かつ、メルトインデックス(190℃、2.16kg)が20以下である第1のプロピレン系コポリマーと、
b.)15重量%〜40重量%の、Tgが−26℃以下、かつ、190℃におけるブルックフィールド粘度が20,000cps以下である第2のプロピレン系コポリマーと、
c.)15重量%〜45重量%の粘着付与剤と、
d.)20重量%〜45重量%の可塑剤と、
e.)2重量%〜10%のポリプロピレンワックスと、を含む、ホットメルト接着剤組成物。 - 前記a.)、b.)、c.)、d.)、及びe.)の合計が、前記組成物の少なくとも90%を構成する、請求項10に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。
- 148.9℃におけるブルックフィールド粘度が16,000cps以下である、請求項1に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物。
- 使い捨て吸収性物品であって、
a.)第1の基材と、
b.)第2の基材と、
c.)請求項1に記載のホットメルト接着剤組成物と、を含み、
前記ホットメルト接着剤組成物が、前記第1及び第2の基材の少なくとも一方に塗布されている、使い捨て吸収性物品。 - おむつ、成人失禁用物品、及び生理用衛生物品からなる群から選択される、請求項13に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
- 前記ホットメルト接着剤組成物が、前記使い捨て吸収性物品において、構造用及びバックシートのラミネーション用からなる群から選択される用途で使用される、請求項13に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
