Description
(塗工装置10の構成)
図1は、実施形態1に係る塗工装置10の構成を模式的に示す図である。塗工装置10は、搬送ローラR1・R2により搬送されて走行するセパレータ9(電池部材)に、容器7に収容された塗液8を塗布する。
塗液8は、セパレータ9の耐熱性を向上させるためのフィラーを含む。セパレータ9の耐熱層を形成する塗液8に含まれるフィラーは、電池用セパレータとして用いたときに、電池の圧縮等の外力によって変形、破砕しないように一定以上の硬度が必要である。また、セパレータ9の基材フィルムが溶融した後も正極と負極とを絶縁し続ける必要があるため、フィラーは耐熱性も必要である。上記特性を満たす材質として、フィラーには無機フィラー(無機微粒子)が用いられることが好ましい。
塗工装置10には、ドクターブレード1が設けられている。ドクターブレード1は、塗工ローラ5の周面6上の塗液8を掻き落とす。
図4は、ドクターブレード1により塗液8を掻き落とされた塗工ローラ5の表面状態を示す写真であり、(a)は掻き落とし状態が不良である表面状態を示し、(b)は掻き落とし状態が良好である表面状態を示す。
ドクターブレード1の表面の材質として、本発明者らは特に樹脂に着目し、超高分子量ポリエチレン(UHPE、ブレード名称:メイラー)、ポリエステル(ブレード名称:マニーベール)、及びポリアセタール(ブレード名称:PS)についてドクターブレード1の設備条件及び刃先形状を検討した。
MD塗工目付の変化は、各測定点でサンプリングしたうちの中央部分の試験片目付を比較することで評価した。具体的には初期状態である250m地点の目付量から各測定点における中央部分の位置15aにおけるサンプルの目付量を減算した値である。結果を(表7)に示す。

Claims (12)
- 走行する電池部材にフィラーを含む塗液を塗工するための塗工ローラの周面上の塗液を掻き落とすドクターブレードであって、
表面が非導電性材料により形成されており、
前記非導電性材料が樹脂を含み、
前記樹脂が超高分子量ポリエチレンを含むことを特徴とするドクターブレード。 - 前記ドクターブレードは、板状の基部と前記基部よりも薄く形成された板状の先端部とを含む段付形状を有する請求項1に記載のドクターブレード。
- 前記先端部は、前記塗工ローラの周面に圧接される圧接面を有し、
前記圧接面と前記先端部の表面との間のべベル角が30°以上60°未満である請求項2に記載のドクターブレード。 - 走行する電池部材にフィラーを含む塗液を塗工するための塗工ローラの周面上の塗液を掻き落とすドクターブレードであって、
表面が非導電性材料により形成されており、
前記ドクターブレードは、板状の先端部を有し、
前記先端部は、前記塗工ローラの周面に圧接される圧接面を有し、
前記圧接面と前記先端部の表面との間のべベル角が30°以上60°未満であることを特徴とするドクターブレード。 - 前記非導電性材料が樹脂を含む請求項4に記載のドクターブレード。
- 前記樹脂が超高分子量ポリエチレンを含む請求項5に記載のドクターブレード。
- 前記電池部材がセパレータである請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載のドクターブレード。
- 前記フィラーが無機フィラーである請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載のドクターブレード。
- 前記フィラーのモース硬度が4以上である請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載のドクターブレード。
- 前記フィラーが無機酸化物を含む請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載のドクターブレード。
- 走行する電池部材にフィラーを含む塗液を塗工するための塗工ローラと、
前記塗工ローラの周面上の塗液を掻き落とす請求項1〜10の何れか1項に記載のドクターブレードとを備えた塗工装置。 - 請求項11に記載の塗工装置を用いて塗液をセパレータに塗布し、塗布層を形成する工程を含むことを特徴とする積層セパレータの製造方法。
