Description
テーバー摩耗:ASTM D4060−14の「Standard Test Method for Abrasion Resistance of Organic Coatings by the Taber Abraser」に記載されている手順に従って、テーバー摩耗を試験した。約50gの比較用複合コアAをシリコーン剥離ライナー上に注いで平円板を形成し、次に、121℃で30分間にわたり硬化させた。176.7℃に加熱したプラテンプレス(PhiモデルPW−220H)を使用し、複合コア1〜3を圧して直径20cm、厚さおよそ3mmの平円板にした。次に、Taber Abraser(モデル5130、ニューヨーク州ノーストナワンダのTeledyne Taberから取得)での試験のために、円板を10cm四方の試料に切断し、中央に6mmの穴を開けた。CS−17ホイールを使用し、合計2000サイクルによって試料を試験した。結果をTaber Abraser摩滅指数として報告する。この指数が低いほど、材料の摩耗耐性が高い。
屈折率(R.I.)1.9を有するガラスビーズの調製
3M Scotchlite(商標)反射材8912銀色布地をマッフル炉内で30分間にわたり600℃に加熱し、取り出して室温に冷まし、ガラスビーズをふるい分けることによって、1.9の屈折率を有するガラスビーズを反射材から分離した。
比較用コアA
比較用コア材料は、概ね米国特許公開第2005/0100709号(Bescupら)の実施例1に記載されているように調製し、以降、比較用コアAと称す。
複合コア1〜2は、以下の表1に列記した成分(重量%)を二軸押出し成形機で混合することによって調製し、ペレタイザーでペレット化した。複合コア1〜2のそれぞれは、直径約1.5mm〜約2mmの最終的な直径、及びおよそ約2mm〜3mmの長さを有した。
複合コア3〜5は、以下の表1に列記した成分(重量%)を、Thermo ScientificのHAAKE PolyLab QC Modular Torque Rheometerに取り付けたローラーロータを用いて計量ミキサにおいて200℃で混合することによって調製した。混合されたコア材料はミキサから取り出し、加圧のために取っておいた。

Claims (3)
- 周辺部を有する本体によって画定されるコアと、
前記コアの前記周辺部の少なくとも一部の周囲に配置された複数の第1のビーズとを含み、
前記コアは、イオン性コポリマーと、前記コアの前記本体にわたって分散された、大きさ、組成、又は、屈折率の少なくとも1つが前記第1のビーズと異なる複数の第2のビーズと、を含む複合コアであり、
前記第1及び第2のビーズは、ガラスビーズ又はガラスセラミックビーズである、
再帰反射反射素子。 - 前記イオン性コポリマーが、ペンダント基部分としてポリマー主鎖に共有結合した15モルパーセント以下のイオン化単位を含む、請求項1記載の再帰反射反射素子。
- 前記イオン性コポリマーが、イオンで架橋したエチレンメタクリル酸コポリマーである、請求項1記載の再帰反射反射素子。
