Description
以下の実施形態は、本開示の特定の特徴を説明するために列挙されており、限定することを意図するものではない。
ベルトを移動させるための第1のローラと、
ベルトを移動させるための第2のローラと、
第1のローラ及び第2のローラの周囲でテンションをかけられたベルトと、
ベルトに面するように配置されて、少なくとも第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層をベルトに付着させるための第1の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素を含む第1の堆積ステーションと、
ベルトに吹き付けるガスカーテンを提供するために、第1の堆積ステーションの下流に配置された第1の方向性ガスカーテン生成要素と、を備えている装置。
(a)ベルトの少なくとも一部分が第1の堆積ステーションに面するように、第1のローラ及び第2のローラの周囲でベルトの形態の基材にテンションをかけるステップであって、
第1の堆積ステーションは、第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層をベルトに付着させるための第1の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素を含む、ステップと、
(b)第1の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素を連動させながら、第1のローラ及び第2のローラの周囲でベルトを移動させて、第1の自己制限的単層形成材料を含む第1の液体をベルト上に適用するステップと、
(c)第1の堆積ステーションの下流に配置された第1の方向性ガスカーテン生成要素を連動させて、ベルト上に少なくとも第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層を残しながら、ベルト上の第1の液体を同時に計量して乾燥させるガスカーテンを提供するステップと、を備えている方法。
第2の堆積ステーションは、
第2の自己制限的単層形成材料の少なくとも単層をベルトに付着させるための第2の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素を含み、
当該方法は、
(d)第2の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素を連動させて、第2の自己制限的単層形成材料を含む第2の液体をベルト上に適用するステップと、
(e)第2の堆積ステーションの下流に配置された第2の方向性ガスカーテン生成要素を連動させて、ベルト上に少なくとも第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層を残しながら、ベルト上の第1の液体を同時に計量して乾燥させるガスカーテンを提供するステップと、を更に備えている、実施形態33又は34に記載の方法。
材料
ポリジアリルジメチルアンモニウムクロライド(PDAC)は水中の20mM(繰り返し単位質量に基づく)溶液として使用し、分子量(MW)100〜200Kを有し、Sigma Aldrich(St.Louis,MO,USA)から入手した。
図1に記載された装置を使用して、本明細書に記載されたデータを生成した。操作条件は表1に記載されている。PDACを繰り返し単位に関して20mMの濃度で使用し、TMAOHの添加によりpHを10.0に調整した。TiO2は、TMACl(最終TMACl濃度は65mM)と混合した10g/Lの濃度で使用し、TMAOHの添加によりpHを11.5に調整した。SiO2は、TMACl(最終TMACl濃度は48mM)と混合した9.6g/Lの濃度で使用し、TMAOHの添加によりpHを11.5に調整した。
10個の二重層をベルト上にコーティングし、余剰の噴霧材料をリサイクル要素に回収した。ベルトを取り外し、新しいベルトを装置の周囲でテンションがかけられた。回収された余剰の材料を新しいベルトにコーティングし、合計6個の二重層を得た。回収された余剰物を回収し、1回以上リサイクルし、更に堆積させた。結果として生じたコーティングにおける各層の平均厚さを表2に示す。この表において、リサイクルが0回のものは、コーティング材料の新鮮なバッチを指し、リサイクルが1回のものは、新鮮なバッチからリサイクルされた材料を指し、リサイクルが2回のものは、1回リサイクルされたバッチからリサイクルされた材料を指す。
2つのローラの間でSKYROLベルトがテンションをかけられた。第1のローラの上流のベルト上に、液体を噴霧するための噴霧器を設置した。方向性ガスカーテン生成要素を第1のローラに垂直に配置した。各実験の開始時に、ベルトを表示された速度で移動させ、水噴霧器を水の特定の流量で作動させた。エアーナイフとローラとの間の距離、方向性ガスカーテン生成要素によって生成されるガスの地面に対する角度、及び方向性ガスカーテン生成要素を通る空気の流量を、各実験の順番に変化させて、方向性エアカーテン生成要素の下流に乾燥したベルトをうまく生成する条件を決定した。乾燥は、移動するウェブにラテックス片を接触することによって決定した。湿ったウェブはラテックスにマークを残すが、乾燥したウェブはマークを残さない。「乾燥までの距離」は、ベルトが乾燥していた点までのエアーナイフから下流の距離である。第2のローラは、方向性ガスカーテン生成要素から43.2cm下流にあった。したがって、乾燥までの距離がないということは、ウェブが第2のローラに達したときにウェブがまだ湿っていることを意味する。乾燥までの距離が0であることは、ウェブが方向性ガスカーテン生成要素の下流の、測定を取り得る最も早い点にあったことを示している。
Claims (5)
- ベルトを移動させるための第1のローラと、
ベルトを移動させるための第2のローラと、
前記第1のローラ及び前記第2のローラの周囲でテンションをかけられたベルトと、
前記ベルトに面するように配置されて、第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層を前記ベルトに付着させるための前記ベルト上に前記第1の自己制限的単層形成材料を含む第1の液体を堆積させる、第1の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素を備える第1の堆積ステーションと、
前記ベルトに吹き付けるガスカーテンを提供するために、前記第1の堆積ステーションの下流に配置された第1の方向性ガスカーテン生成要素と、を備え、前記第1の方向性ガスカーテン生成要素が、前記ベルト上に少なくとも前記第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層を残しながら、前記ベルト上の前記第1の液体の計量と乾燥とを同時に行なうガスカーテンを供給するように構成され、
前記ベルトから過剰な第1の液体を除去するためのリンス要素を含まない、装置。 - 前記第1の方向性ガスカーテン生成要素の下流に配置されて、第2の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層を前記ベルトに付着させるための前記ベルト上に前記第2の自己制限的単層形成材料を含む第2の液体を堆積させる、第2の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素を備える第2の堆積ステーションと、
前記ベルトに吹き付けるガスカーテンを提供するために、前記第2の堆積ステーションの下流に配置された第2の方向性ガスカーテン生成要素と、を更に備えている、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記第1の液体の少なくとも一部を回収して前記回収された第1の液体の少なくとも一部を前記第1の堆積ステーションに戻すための第1のリサイクル要素を更に備えている、請求項1又は2に記載の装置。
- 前記第2の液体の少なくとも一部を回収して前記回収された第2の液体の少なくとも一部を前記第2の堆積ステーションに戻すための第2のリサイクル要素を更に備えている、請求項2又は3に記載の装置。
- 基材上にコーティングを作製する方法であって、
(a)ベルトの少なくとも一部分が第1の堆積ステーションに面するように、第1のローラ及び第2のローラの周囲で前記ベルトの形態の基材にテンションをかけるステップであって、
前記第1の堆積ステーションは、
第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層を前記ベルトに付着させるための前記ベルト上に前記第1の自己制限的単層形成材料を含む第1の液体を堆積させる、第1の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素を備える、ステップと、
(b)前記第1の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素を連動させながら、前記第1のローラ及び前記第2のローラの周囲で前記ベルトを移動させて、第1の自己制限的単層形成材料を含む第1の液体を前記ベルト上に適用するステップと、
(c)前記第1の堆積ステーションの下流に配置された第1の方向性ガスカーテン生成要素を連動させて、前記ベルト上に少なくとも第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層を残しながら、前記ベルト上の前記第1の液体の計量と乾燥を同時に行うガスカーテンを提供するステップと、を備え、
前記方法は、前記ベルトから過剰な第1の液体を除去するためのリンスステップを含まない、方法。
