Description
本出願は、その内容が本明細書中に参考として組み込まれている、2016年1月26日に出願の米国仮出願62/287,355号の優先権を主張するものである。
本発明の特定の実施形態では、繊維投入および切断機は1〜4つのナイフ刃を備えた調節可能な繊維切断長を有していてよく、繊維幅は4枚の刃を用いて500mmまでである。繊維供給速度は240m/分までに設定してよく、回転速度は12,000r.p.mである。例示的な細断システム機器は市販されている。図2に模式図を示すように、この機器は渦形成チャンバおよび下層コンベヤを用いて改良されている。

Claims (23)
- 繊維トウの1つまたは複数のリールと、
繊維トウを受け取って繊維トウの1つまたは複数のリールから細断繊維を形成するように構成された切断エレメントと、
シリンダー状チューブであって、細断繊維を受け取り、シリンダー状チューブにおいて解束渦を作り出すために回転流および鉛直流の構成要素をどちらも有する加圧ガス流を受け取るように構成されたシリンダー状チューブと、
シリンダー状チューブを出ていく細断繊維を重力の下で収集するために、シリンダー状チューブの下に配置された移動ベルトと、
結合剤または添加剤を細断繊維に施用するために、移動ベルトに沿って配置された分注器と、
処理された細断繊維を受け取る処理チャンバと
を備える繊維トウを細断繊維へと解束するシステム。 - 繊維トウの1つまたは複数のリールが、ガラス、炭素、ポリイミド、ポリエステル、またはポリアミドのうちの少なくとも1つ、およびその組合せである、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 結合剤を施用し、処理チャンバ内でプリフォーム(perform)マットを形成する、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- チューブがプラズマ発生器をさらに備える請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 分注器に結合剤が含まれる、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 分注器に添加剤が含まれる、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 添加剤がシランまたはシルセスキオキサンのうちの1つである、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- ガス流と流体連結した粒子リザーバーをさらに備える請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 細断繊維の一部を移動ベルトの中心線に向けて促すために、移動ベルトの移動方向に対して内向きの角度にしたレールをさらに備える請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 結合剤または添加剤と細断繊維との間の化学反応を促進するために、分注器と関連した熱化学線またはプラズマエネルギー源をさらに備える請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 処理チャンバが、移動ベルト上の処理された細断繊維を平らにする一組のローラーをさらに備える請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 処理チャンバが、化学処理した細断繊維を硬化させる第1の加熱セクションと、プリフォームマットが処理チャンバから出ていく前の第2の冷却セクションとをさらに備える請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 処理チャンバが上部移動ベルトをさらに備える請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 切断エレメントが一連の刃をさらに備える請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 繊維トウの1つまたは複数のリールを切断システムに供給して細断繊維を形成するステップと、
細断器(chopper)繊維を、渦の形成を用いて細断繊維を解束するために回転流および鉛直流の構成要素をどちらも有する導入加圧ガス流を備えたシリンダー状チューブ内に落として、渦の形成を用いて細断繊維を解束するステップと、
重力でシリンダー状チューブから移動ベルト上へ出ていく細断繊維を収集するステップと、
移動ベルトの上方の分注器から細断繊維を化学処理するステップと、
化学処理した細断繊維を処理チャンバに提供するステップと
を含む、処理チャンバに送達するために、移動ベルト上で塊として繊維トウを細断繊維へと解束する方法。 - 導入ガス流が回転および鉛直の構成要素を細断繊維に施用する、請求項15に記載の方法。
- チューブ内でプラズマ放電を施用することをさらに含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 粒子をガス流中に同伴させることをさらに含む、請求項15から17のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 結合剤の細断繊維への接着を促進するために、熱、化学線、またはプラズマのエネルギー源を施用することをさらに含む、請求項15から17のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 化学処理した細断繊維がプリフォームマットとして処理チャンバを出ていく、請求項15から17のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 化学処理した細断繊維を移動ベルト上で平らにすることをさらに含む、請求項15から17のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 処理チャンバの第1のセクション内の化学処理した細断繊維を加熱し、その後、化学処理した細断繊維を第1のセクションと比較して冷却することをさらに含む、請求項15から17のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 化学処理した細断繊維を処理チャンバ内で接触させることをさらに含む、請求項15から17のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
