表1には、本発明の実施例1であるメタクリル酸ステアリルでグラフト化した塩素化ポリエチレン(CPE−g−SMA)の生成に使用した成分と量を示している。脱イオン水、The Dow Chemical Company (Midland, MI, USA)から市販されている塩素化ポリエチレンであるTYRIN 7100、Sigma−Aldrich Corporation (St. Louis, MO, USA)から市販されているメタクリル酸ステアリル(SMA)、Sigma−Aldrichから市販されているグラフト結合モノマーであるメタクリル酸アリル(ALMA)、及びAkzo Nobel Chemicals (Pasadena, TX, USA)から市販されているペルオキシ‐2‐エチルヘキサン酸tert−ブチルフリーラジカル開始剤であるTRIGONOX 21Sを、25℃にて10分間にわたって混合しながら一緒にし、さらに10分間そのまま混合した。次に混合物を85℃に加熱してグラフト重合を開始し、その温度で2時間維持した。次に混合物を95℃に加熱し、その温度で1時間維持した。次に得られたスラリーをろ過し、水で洗浄した。その後、ろ過した固体を乾燥した。
試験方法としては、以下のものが挙げられる。
ポリマー密度は、ASTM D792に準拠して測定する。
メルトインデックスI2は、ASTM D1238(190℃/2.16kg)に準拠して測定する。
寸法1mm(0.04インチ)×0.5インチ×5インチの試験細片は、試料の最上部0.5インチをバタフライクリップで挟んで鋼棒に掛けることによって、温度140℃(LLPDE用)に設定したBlue M対流式オーブン内に吊した。試験細片に隣接して、試験細片の最下部が定規のゼロインチの印に一致するよう、(下方向が正の方向になるようにして)インチ目盛りの定規を据えた。ストップウォッチを使用して、オーブンのドアののぞき窓から観察することにより試験細片の伸び(垂下)を測定した。記録したデータは、時間に対する伸びとした。HDPEの場合には、試験細片の最下部を挟んで14グラムの重しを付け、オーブンの設定温度は160℃とした。吊す重しは、単純に、14グラムの重量を有するバタフライクリップとし、試験試料の最下部0.5インチに付けた。
Claims (7)
- 1種または複数のポリオレフィンと、1〜5重量%の、(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルでグラフト化した塩素化ポリオレフィンと、を含むポリオレフィン組成物であって、前記アルキルが10個よりも多い炭素原子を含み、前記(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルの前記アルキルが、ステアリル、ラウリル、及びそれらの組合せからなる群から選択され、前記1種または複数のポリオレフィンが、前記塩素化ポリオレフィンではない、ポリオレフィン組成物。
- ポリプロピレンホモポリマー、高密度ポリエチレン及び直鎖低密度ポリエチレンからなる群から選択される1種または複数のポリオレフィンと、1〜5重量%の(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルでグラフト化した塩素化ポリオレフィンと、を含むポリオレフィン組成物であって、前記アルキルが10個よりも多い炭素原子を含み、前記(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルの前記アルキルが、ステアリル、ラウリル、及びそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、ポリオレフィン組成物。
- 前記塩素化ポリオレフィンが塩素化ポリエチレンである、請求項1又は2記載のポリオレフィン組成物。
- 前記(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルでグラフト化した塩素化ポリオレフィンが、メタクリル酸ラウリルグラフト化塩素化ポリエチレン、メタクリル酸ステアリルグラフト化塩素化ポリエチレン、及びそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項1又は2記載のポリオレフィン組成物。
- 1種または複数のポリオレフィンに、(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルでグラフト化した塩素化ポリオレフィンを1〜5重量%添加することであって、前記(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルの前記アルキルが、ステアリル、ラウリル、及びそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される、添加すること
を含む、オレフィン系ポリマーの耐垂下性を改良する方法。 - 1種または複数のポリオレフィン;及び
1〜5重量%の、(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルでグラフト化した塩素化ポリオレフィンであって、前記アルキルが10個よりも多い炭素原子を含む塩素化ポリオレフィン
