記排気通路を画定する排気管の周方向にガイドするガイド部を有し、該ガイド部には、複数の貫通孔が設けられる。
材によって上述したようにその流れ方向が変えられると、該排気がある程度拡散する。その結果、排気が排気浄化触媒に一様に流入し易くなる。この場合、排気浄化触媒における排気の流通範囲が広くなり、排気中の有害成分が浄化され易くなる。これにより、エミッションを可及的に低減することが可能となる。

<内燃機関の吸排気系の構成>
図1は、本実施形態に係る内燃機関とその吸排気系の概略構成を示す図である。図1に
示す内燃機関1は、4つの気筒2を含む気筒群を備えた火花点火式の内燃機関(ガソリンエンジン)である。ただし、本発明は、圧縮着火式の内燃機関(ディーゼルエンジン)にも適用することができる。内燃機関1には、各気筒2内へ直接燃料を噴射する燃料噴射弁3が設けられている。なお、燃料噴射弁3は、各吸気ポートへ燃料を噴射するように構成されてもよい。また、各気筒2には、筒内の混合気に着火するための図示しない点火プラグが取り付けられている。
タービンハウジング60と排気浄化触媒7との間の排気通路5には、整流部材11が設
けられている。そして、本実施形態に係る内燃機関の排気浄化装置では、排気浄化触媒7を暖機するときには、バイパス排気が上流側触媒端面7aに向かうように、且つ、内燃機関1が所定の高負荷領域で運転されるときには、バイパス排気が、整流部材11に向かうように、排気浄化触媒7および整流部材11が配置されている。これについて、図2A、図2B、および図3に基づいて説明する。
貫通孔11bを通過すると、バイパス排気へ整流部材11の干渉が低減される。そのため、整流部材11がバイパス排気の流れを阻害することで生じ得る圧力損失が低減される。これにより、タービン60aの背圧が高くなる事態が抑制され、以て、内燃機関1の出力低下を抑制することができる。

- 内燃機関の排気通路に設けられたタービンを具備する過給機と、
前記タービンより下流の前記排気通路に設けられた排気浄化触媒と、
前記タービンより上流の前記排気通路から分岐し、該タービンを迂回して前記排気浄化触媒より上流の該排気通路に合流するバイパス通路と、
前記バイパス通路に設けられ、該バイパス通路を流通する排気の流量を調整するウェイストゲートバルブであって、その開度が変化すると、前記バイパス通路から前記排気通路に流出する排気であるバイパス排気の流れ方向が変化するように構成されたウェイストゲートバルブと、
前記タービンと前記排気浄化触媒との間の前記排気通路に設けられ、排気の流れ方向を変化させる整流部材と、を備えた内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
