前記材料系がガラス材料、ガラスセラミック材料、ポリマー材料およびポリセラミック材料のうちの少なくとも一つを含む一つ以上の層を含む実施形態1記載の材料系。
前記材料系が該材料系の前記第一の側に最も近い第一の表面と、該材料系の前記第二の側に最も近い第二の表面とを有する材料体を含み、該材料体は該第二の表面上よりも該第一の表面上の方が不透明度が高い実施形態1または2記載の材料系。
前記第一の表面は光散乱面を含み、前記第二の表面は光透過性である実施形態3記載の材料系。
前記材料体は、異なる光学的特性を提供するために前記第一の表面と前記第二の表面の間に微細構造の変化を含む実施形態3または4記載の材料系。
前記第一の表面に最も近い平均結晶粒径が、前記材料体の前記第二の表面に最も近い平均結晶粒径よりも大きくなるように結晶サイズの勾配を有するガラスセラミック材料体を含む実施形態5記載の材料系。
前記材料系が前記体の前記第一の表面と前記第二の表面の間で微細構造の変化を有する分相ガラスを含む実施形態5記載の材料系。

該第一の層の該遠位面上にある光学的に活性化される発光要素アレイと

前記光学的に活性化される発光要素アレイは、有機発光要素アレイおよび量子ドットアレイのうちの少なくとも一方を含む実施形態13記載の材料系。
前記光学的に活性化される発光要素アレイは、前記表面表示ユニット用の不透明な被照背景の外観を提供するように構成される実施形態13または14記載の材料系。
前記光学的に活性化される発光要素アレイは、前記表面表示ユニット用のユーザ変更可能な背景色を提供するように構成される実施形態13から15のいずれかに記載の材料系。
前記光学的に活性化される発光要素アレイは、前記第一の層と第二の層の間で気密的に封止される実施形態13から16のいずれかに記載の材料系。
前記光学的に活性化される発光要素アレイは、光学的励起源によって照らされるときに異なる色および/またはパターンの光を表示するように構成される実施形態13から17のいずれかに記載の材料系。
前記光学的励起源は、該材料系の前部、後部、または側部から前記光学的に活性化される発光要素アレイを照らすように構成される実施形態18記載の材料系。
前記光学的励起源は紫外光源を含む実施形態18記載の材料系。
前記第一の層は、前記光学的に活性化される発光要素アレイから該材料系の前記観察者側への発光を促進するための励起機能部を含む実施形態13から20のいずれかに記載の材料系。
前記励起機能部は、前記観察者側から前記第一の層に向かう光の散乱面を提供する実施形態21記載の材料系。
前記材料系が少なくとも二つの異なる種類のディスプレイを、該ディスプレイの間に間隙を挟んだ積重構成で含む実施形態1から22のいずれかに記載の材料系。
第一のディスプレイが、
該材料系の観察者側に対向する近位面と、該観察者側に対向しない遠位面とを有するガラス材料またはガラスセラミック材料を含む第一の層と、
該第一の層の該遠位面上にある光学的に活性化される発光要素アレイと
を含み、
第二のディスプレイが、該材料系に背景画像を表示するように構成された近位面を有する電気泳動ディスプレイを含む実施形態23記載の材料系。
前記光学的に活性化される発光要素アレイは、該材料系の背景色を変更するために前記電気泳動ディスプレイの前記近位面上に光を放出するように構成される実施形態24記載の材料系。
前記電気泳動ディスプレイの前記近位面は、光散乱を促進するために粗面化、パターン加工、かつ/またはテクスチャ加工されている実施形態24または25記載の材料系。
少なくとも二つのディスプレイ間の前記間隙は、前記第一のディスプレイから前記第二のディスプレイの正面上へのあらゆるシャドーイングまたは投影画像を拡散するのに十分である実施形態24から26のいずれかに記載の材料系。

Claims (3)
- 表面表示ユニットの観察者に対向するように構成された第一の側と、該第一の側の反対側でありかつ該観察者に対向しない第二の側とを含む該表面表示ユニット用の材料系であって、
(i)該表面表示ユニットが画像を表示していないときの概して不透明な第一の外観状態と、
(ii)前記観察者に知覚可能な第一の画像を表示するために該材料系が前記第一の側から照らされる第二の外観状態と、
(iii)前記観察者に知覚可能な第二の画像を表示するために該材料系が前記第二の側から照らされる第三の外観状態と
を含む少なくとも三つの外観状態を有するように構成され、
前記材料系は、該材料系の前記第一の側に最も近い第一の表面と、該材料系の前記第二の側に最も近い第二の表面とを有する材料体を含み、
該材料体は、前記第二の表面上よりも前記第一の表面上の方が不透明度が高く、
前記材料体は、前記第一の表面に最も近い第一平均結晶粒径が、前記第二の表面に最も近い第二平均結晶粒径よりも大きくなるように結晶粒径の勾配を有する材料系。 - ガラス材料、ガラスセラミック材料、ポリマー材料およびポリセラミック材料のうちの少なくとも一つを含む一つ以上の層を含む請求項1記載の材料系。
