Description
an=(Tn+Xn)−(Tn−1+Xn−1)
(ただし、nは1以上N以下の整数、T0=0、X0=0とする。)
で与えられる前記加算時間anを、1〜N番目の形態のドット夫々について演算する演算手段と、前記n番目の形態のドットを形成するのに必要な前記エネルギーPの印加時間を加熱時間Anとしたとき、

ただし、nは1以上N以下の整数である。Tnは規定時間であり、発熱素子32にエネルギーPを通電する規定の時間(定数)である。Xnは補正時間であり、環境要因にあわせてn番目の形態のドットの形成状態を補正するため、規定時間Tnに付加する時間(変数)である。補正時間Xnは、ヘッド温度と、ユーザによる発色色の濃度設定に応じて変化する。例えば、ヘッド温度が、補正が不要な標準温度であり、且つ、発色色の濃度設定が、補正が不要な標準濃度の設定である場合、Xnが0となり、加熱時間Anは、規定時間Tnになる。補正時間Xnは、ヘッド温度又はその対応値と、発色色の濃度設定値とを引数とする関数で与えられる。

Claims (8)
- 1つの印刷領域に印加するエネルギーの量に応じてN種類の形態にドットを形成可能な印刷媒体に印刷する印刷装置であって、
直線状に並ぶ複数の発熱素子を備えたサーマルヘッドと、
前記サーマルヘッドにおいて前記複数の発熱素子が並ぶ直列方向に直交する搬送方向へ前記印刷媒体を搬送する搬送装置と、
印刷データに基づいて、前記複数の発熱素子に対するエネルギーの印加と、前記搬送装置による前記印刷媒体の搬送とを制御し、前記印刷媒体にドット列からなる複数のラインを印刷する制御装置と、
を備え、
前記制御装置は、
印刷環境によって値が異なる環境値を取得する取得手段と、
ドットの形成に必要なエネルギー量の少ない順にn番目の形態のドットを形成するため、前記発熱素子にエネルギーPを印加する規定の印加時間を規定時間Tnとし、前記環境値に応じて前記n番目の形態のドットの形成状態を補正するため、前記規定時間Tnに付加する印加時間を補正時間Xnとし、n−1番目の形態のドットを形成するのに必要な前記エネルギーPの印加時間に加算して前記n番目の形態のドットを形成するための印加時間を加算時間anとしたとき、
an=(Tn+Xn)−(Tn−1+Xn−1)
(ただし、nは1以上N以下の整数、T0=0、X0=0とする。)
で与えられる前記加算時間anを、1〜N番目の形態のドット夫々について演算する演算手段と、
前記n番目の形態のドットを形成するのに必要な前記エネルギーPの印加時間を加熱時間Anとしたとき、
前記設定手段が設定した前記加熱時間Anに基づき前記印刷対象ラインの各ドットに前記エネルギーPを印加する印加手段と、
を備えたこと
を特徴とする印刷装置。 - 前記設定手段は、
前記印刷対象ラインよりも前の印刷時に印刷対象となる前対象ラインが含む各ドットのうち、前記印刷対象ラインで前記加熱時間Anの設定対象となる対象ドットに隣接する前対象ドットの形成状態を判断する判断手段と、
前記判断手段が判断した前記前対象ドットの形成状態に応じ、前記対象ドットの前記加熱時間Anに追加する印加時間である追加時間を付加する付加手段と、
を備えたこと
を特徴とする請求項1に記載の印刷装置。 - 装置内の温度を検出する検出手段を備え、
前記環境値は、前記検出手段が検出した温度であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の印刷装置。 - 前記発熱素子に印加する前記エネルギーPの電圧を検出する検出手段を備え、
前記環境値は、前記検出手段が検出した電圧であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の印刷装置。 - 前記印刷媒体に形成可能なドットの形態は2種類であることを特徴とする請求項1から7のいずれかに記載の印刷装置。
