Claims (1)
- 液晶表示パネルのグレースケール電圧の補正方法であって、
前記液晶表示パネルは、交流駆動方式を採用するとともに、
共通電極と、
前記共通電極と向かい合って設置された複数の画素電極と、からなり、
前記共通電極には共通電圧を印加し、
任意の位置点の座標をxで表わすとき、座標xの前記画素電極にはグレースケール値と対応するグレースケール電圧V(x)を印加し、
前記グレースケール電圧V(x)は、正極性グレースケール電圧Vp(x)と負極性グレースケール電圧Vn(x)とを備え、
前記グレースケール電圧V(x)の補正方法は、
前記共通電極における前記共通電圧の実電圧分布Vcom(x)を取得する共通電極実電圧分布取得手順と、
前記実電圧分布Vcom(x)に基づいて、各前記画素電極の前記正極性グレースケール電圧Vp(x)と前記負極性グレースケール電圧Vn(x)をそれぞれ補正するグレースケール電圧補正手順と、を備え、
前記共通電極実電圧分布取得手順では、
前記共通電極上の基準位置点Oを選択し、前記基準位置点Oの座標をμで表わし、
前記基準位置点Oの前記共通電圧Vcom(μ)及び前記基準位置点Oと向かい合う基準画素電極上の前記正極性グレースケール電圧Vp(μ)と前記負極性グレースケール電圧Vn(μ)を調整することによって、前記基準画素電極が対応する最適な共通電圧Vcom(μ)と、最適な正極性グレースケール電圧Vp(μ)と、最適な負極性グレースケール電圧Vn(μ)とを取得し、
前記基準位置点Oの前記共通電圧Vcom(μ)が前記最適な共通電圧となった状態で、前記基準位置点O以外のその他の位置点の前記共通電圧の実電圧値Vcom(x)を確定し、
前記確定した前記共通電圧の電圧分布Vcom(x)を記憶装置に記憶し、
前記グレースケール電圧補正手順は、
前記共通電極における前記基準画素電極以外のその他の画素電極に向かい合う位置の前記共通電圧の実電圧値Vcom(x)に基づいて、
各前記画素電極上の補正後の正極性グレースケール電圧Vp(x)'と、前記共通電極における各前記画素電極に向かい合う位置の前記共通電圧Vcom(x)と、の間の階差と、
各前記画素電極上の補正後の負極性グレースケール電圧Vn(x)'と、前記向かい合う位置の前記共通電圧Vcom(x)と、の間の階差と、を同じにする手順であって、
前記記憶装置に記憶された前記共通電圧の電圧分布Vcom(x)を呼び出し、
前記基準位置点O以外のその他の位置点の前記共通電圧の電圧分布Vcom(x)に基づいて、前記基準画素電極以外の前記その他の各画素電極のグレースケール電圧補正値Cp(x)およびCn(x)を次式によって計算し、
前記基準画素電極には前記最適な正極性グレースケール電圧Vp(μ)および前記最適な負極性グレースケール電圧Vn(μ)を印加し、
前記基準画素電極以外のその他の画素電極には前記補正後の正極性グレースケール電圧Vp(x)'および前記補正後の負極性グレースケール電圧Vn(x)'を印加し、
さらに、
前記基準位置点Oの前記共通電圧Vcom(μ)が前記最適な共通電圧となった状態のとき、前記共通電圧の電圧分布Vcom(x)がガウス分布である場合には、前記基準位置点O以外のその他の位置点の前記共通電圧の実電圧値Vcom(x)を、ガウス関数と、前記基準位置点の前記最適な共通電圧Vcom(μ)と、前記基準位置点O以外のその他の位置点の座標xと、に基づいて次式により算出する
ことを特徴とするグレースケール電圧の補正方法。
