Description
[001]本発明は、磁気的に二軸配向された小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子を含む光学効果層(OEL)を生成するための、プロセスの分野に関する。特に、本発明は、セキュリティ文書もしくはセキュリティ物品に対する偽造防止手段として又は装飾目的で、上記OELを生成するための、デバイス及びプロセスを提供する。
[002]セキュリティ要素及びセキュリティ文書を生成するための、磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子、特に小板形状の光学可変の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子を含有するインク、コーティング組成物、コーティング、又は層の使用は、当技術分野で公知である。
a)i)小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子及びii)結合剤を含む、第1の状態にある放射線硬化性コーティング組成物を、基材表面に付着させるステップと、
b)放射線硬化性コーティング組成物を、ハルバッハシリンダアセンブリを備える磁性アセンブリの動的磁場に曝露して、前記小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子の少なくとも一部を二軸配向させるステップであって、このハルバッハシリンダアセンブリが、i)3個以上の磁石棒、及び上記アセンブリを取り囲む単一磁石−ワイヤコイル、又はii)3個以上の磁石棒、上記アセンブリを包含し且つ上記アセンブリに面した2つの極を備える磁極片であり、各極が、磁石−ワイヤコイルによって取り囲まれているもの、又はiii)磁石棒及び上記磁石棒を取り囲む磁石−ワイヤコイルを、それぞれが備えている3つ以上の構造、のいずれかを備えており、上記少なくとも3個の磁石棒が横方向に磁化されるステップと、
c)ステップb)の放射線硬化性コーティング組成物を少なくとも部分的に硬化して、小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子がそれらの採用された位置及び配向に固定されるような第2の状態にするステップであって、ステップb)と部分的に同時に又は同時に実施されるステップと、を含む。
a)小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子の少なくとも一部を二軸配向させるようなハルバッハシリンダアセンブリと、
b)硬化ユニットと、を備えるデバイスも開示される。
定義
[037]下記の定義は、本記述及び特許請求の範囲で使用される用語の意味を明確にする。
[038]本明細書で使用される不定冠詞「a」は、1つ並びに複数を示し、指示名詞を必ずしも単数に限定する必要はない。
a)ハルバッハシリンダの磁気双極子場(Hxy)は、横方向、均質であり、シリンダの内部に閉じ込められる。このため、z方向を、任意の長さで延びる磁化ユニットの構成が可能になり、且つ
b)ハルバッハシリンダの磁石棒は、閉表面を形成してはならず、便宜上、間隔を空けていてもよい。このため、放射線硬化性コーティング組成物を保持する基材は、ハルバッハシリンダの磁場領域を容易に通過できるようになり、それと共に、ハルバッハシリンダ内の機能ユニットの付加及び接触も可能になる。
a)本明細書に記述される基材の表面に、本明細書に記述される小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子を含む放射線硬化性コーティング組成物を付着させるステップであって、上記放射線硬化組成物が第1の状態にあるステップと、
b)放射線硬化性コーティング組成物で作製されたモチーフを、ハルバッハシリンダアセンブリを備える磁性アセンブリの動的磁場に曝露して、小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能顔料粒子の少なくとも一部を二軸配向させるステップであって、このアセンブリが、i)3個以上の磁石棒、及び上記アセンブリを取り囲む単一磁石−ワイヤコイル、又はii)3個以上の磁石棒、上記アセンブリを包含し且つ上記アセンブリに面した2つの極を含む磁極片であり、各極が磁石−ワイヤコイルによって取り囲まれているもの、又はiii)本明細書に記述されるような磁石棒及び上記磁石棒を取り囲む磁石−ワイヤコイルを、それぞれが備えている3つ以上の構造、のいずれかを備え、上記3個以上の磁石棒が横方向に磁化されているステップと、
c)ステップb)の放射線硬化性コーティング組成物で作製されたモチーフの第1のパターンを少なくとも部分的に硬化して、第1のパターンの小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子を、それらの採用された位置及び配向に固定するような第2の状態にするステップであって、ステップb)と部分的に同時に又は同時に実施されるステップであり、部分的に硬化するステップが、第2のパターンが照射に曝露されないようにフォトマスクを備える硬化ユニットで実施されるステップと、
d)第2のパターンがステップc)の下でフォトマスクの存在により第1の状態にある、ステップc)の放射線硬化性コーティング組成物で作製されたモチーフを、磁場発生デバイスの磁場に曝露し、それによって、第2のパターンの小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子の少なくとも一部を、第1のパターンの小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能顔料粒子の配向とは異なる配向に従うように、且つランダム配向以外の任意の配向に従うように配向させるステップと、
e)同時に、部分的に同時に、又はその後に続けて、放射線硬化性組成物を硬化して、小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子がそれらの採用される位置及び配向に固定されるような第2の状態にするステップと、を含む。
i)完全に異なる配向パターン、又は
ii)第1のパターンの二軸配向とは異なる二軸配向、例えば、a)第1のパターンは、基材表面に実質的に平行なそれら2つの長軸及び短軸を有する顔料粒子を含み、b)第2のパターンは、基材表面に対して実質的に非ゼロ仰角でX−Y平面内にそれらの長軸を有し且つ基材表面に実質的に平行なそれらの短軸を有する、顔料粒子を含む。
i)寸法が115×90×10mmの、POM(ポリオキシメチレン)で作製されたホルダ(19);
ii)ホルダ(19)に直交するように糊付けされ且つ寸法が70×70×10mmの、POMで作製された背板(20);
iii)それぞれが磁石棒と上記磁石棒の周りの磁石−ワイヤコイルとを備え、40×40mm平方に配置構成された4つの構造であって、磁石棒の個々の磁化方向は、ハルバッハシリンダアセンブリを構築するように配置されており;それぞれが
a)固定された、0.5mmのラッカーで絶縁された銅線の、450回の巻き数を有する磁石−ワイヤコイル(21)、
b)POMで作製された、直径20mm/長さ40mmのコイル支持体(22)、
c)Nd2Fe14Bで作製され且つ寸法が3×5×64mmの、横方向に磁化された、即ち短(3mm)軸に沿ってそれらのN→S方向を有する磁石棒(23)、及び
d)純鉄(ARMCOから供給)で作製された、寸法が1×5×64mmの、磁石棒(23)のN及びS極上に糊付けされた2つの鉄磁極片(24)であり、
このときそれらを中心位置に機械的に保持した状態の磁極片を備える4つの構造;
iv)寸法が115×70×2mmの基材ホルダ(25)であって、2対の構造のそれぞれの間の鏡面において、上記ハルバッハシリンダアセンブリの中心を通るように配置されている上記ホルダ。
Claims (13)
- 基材上に光学効果層(OEL)を生成するための方法であって、
a)i)小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子、及びii)結合剤を含む、第1の状態にある放射線硬化性コーティング組成物を、基材表面に付着させるステップと、
b)前記放射線硬化性コーティング組成物を、ハルバッハシリンダアセンブリを備える磁性アセンブリの動的磁場に曝露して、前記小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子の少なくとも一部を二軸配向させるステップであり、前記ハルバッハシリンダアセンブリが、i)3個以上の磁石棒、及び前記アセンブリを取り囲む単一磁石−ワイヤコイル、又はii)3個以上の磁石棒、前記アセンブリを包含し且つ前記アセンブリに面した2つの極を備える磁極片であり、各極が、磁石−ワイヤコイルによって取り囲まれているもの、又はiii)磁石棒及び前記磁石棒を取り囲む磁石−ワイヤコイルを、それぞれが備えている3つ以上の構造、のうちのいずれかを備えており、前記3個以上の磁石棒が横方向に磁化されているステップと、
c)ステップb)の前記放射線硬化性コーティング組成物を少なくとも部分的に硬化して、前記小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子がそれらの採用された位置及び配向に固定されるような第2の状態にするステップであり、前記ステップb)と部分的に同時に又は同時に実施されるステップと、を含む方法。 - ステップb)は、前記小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子の少なくとも一部を二軸配向させて、i)前記基材表面に実質的に平行な前記粒子の長軸及び短軸を有するように、又はii)前記基材表面に対して実質的に非ゼロ仰角で前記粒子の長軸を有し且つ前記基材に実質的に平行に前記粒子の短軸を有するように、実施される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 付着させる前記ステップa)が、スクリーン印刷、輪転グラビア印刷、フレキソ印刷、及び凹版印刷からなる群から選択される印刷プロセスによって実施される、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- ステップb)で使用される前記動的磁場が、前記ハルバッハシリンダアセンブリ内の磁気双極子場(Hxy)と、適切な振幅及び周波数のAC電流を前記磁石−ワイヤコイル(複数可)に印加することによって得られる動的成分(Hz)と、から得られる、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- ステップc)が、UV−可視光放射線硬化によって実施される、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子の少なくとも一部が、小板形状の光学可変な磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子によって構成される、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記小板形状の光学可変な磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子が、小板形状の磁性薄膜干渉顔料粒子、小板形状の磁性コレステリック液晶顔料粒子、磁性材料を含む小板形状の干渉コーティング付き顔料粒子、及びこれらの2種以上の混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子の少なくとも一部が、コバルト(Co)、鉄(Fe)、ガドリニウム(Gd)、及びニッケル(Ni)からなる群から選択される磁性金属と、鉄、マンガン、コバルト、ニッケル、及びこれらの2種以上の混合物の磁性合金と、クロム、マンガン、コバルト、鉄、ニッケル、及びこれらの2種以上の混合物の磁性酸化物と、これらの2種以上の混合物と、を含む、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記OELが、第1のパターン及び前記第1のパターンに隣接した第2のパターンで作製されたモチーフを含み、前記モチーフが、前記放射線硬化性コーティング組成物で作製され、
少なくとも部分的に硬化させる前記ステップc)は、前記第2のパターンが照射に曝露されないようにフォトマスクを備える硬化ユニットで実施され、
前記方法は、ステップc)の前記放射線硬化性コーティング組成物で作製された前記モチーフであって、前記第2のパターンがステップc)の下での前記フォトマスクの存在に起因して第1の状態にある前記モチーフを、磁場発生デバイスの磁場に曝露し、それによって前記第2のパターンの前記小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子の少なくとも一部を、前記第1のパターンの前記小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能顔料粒子の配向とは異なる配向に従うように、且つランダム配向以外の任意の配向に従うように、配向させるステップd)をさらに含み、
前記方法は、前記放射線硬化性組成物を同時に、部分的に同時に、又は順次硬化して第2の状態とし、前記小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子をそれらの採用された位置及び配向で固定するようにする、ステップe)をさらに含む、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 基材上に光学効果層(OEL)生成するためのデバイスであって、
前記OELが、硬化した放射線硬化性コーティング組成物中で二軸配向された小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子を含んでおり、
a)ハルバッハシリンダアセンブリであって、i)3個以上の磁石棒、及び前記アセンブリを取り囲む単一磁石−ワイヤコイル、又はii)3個以上の磁石棒、前記アセンブリを包含し且つ前記アセンブリに面した2つの極を備える磁極片であり、各極が、磁石−ワイヤコイルによって取り囲まれているもの、又はiii)磁石棒及び前記磁石棒を取り囲む磁石−ワイヤコイルを、それぞれが備えている3つ以上の構造、のうちのいずれかを備えており、前記小板形状の磁性又は磁化可能な顔料粒子の少なくとも一部が二軸配向するようになされ、少なくとも3個の前記磁石棒が横方向に磁化されている、ハルバッハシリンダアセンブリと、
b)硬化ユニットと、を備えるデバイス。 - 前記硬化ユニットがフォトマスクを備える、請求項10に記載のデバイス。
- 基材支持要素及び/又は基材ガイド要素をさらに備える、請求項10又は11に記載のデバイス。
- 印刷ユニット、好ましくはスクリーン印刷ユニット、輪転グラビア印刷ユニット、フレキソ印刷ユニット、又は凹版印刷ユニットをさらに備える、請求項10〜12のいずれか一項に記載のデバイス。
