Claims (6)
- 推進剤にレーザー光を照射して推力を得るレーザー推進装置において、
前記推進剤は、ダイラタント流体であり、ダイラタンシー特性を調整するためのホウ素、流動性を調整するためのグリセリン及び光吸収率又は熱伝導率を調整するための添加物を含み、
前記推進剤に前記レーザー光を照射したときに前記推進剤を剛体化させ、前記推進剤に前記レーザー光を照射しないときに前記推進剤を流動化させることにより、前記レーザー光の照射中に前記推進剤の表面をアブレーションさせて推力を得るとともに、前記レーザー光の照射停止中に前記推進剤の表面を自律的に再生させるようにした、
ことを特徴とするレーザー推進装置。 - 前記ダイラタント流体はシリコーンを主成分とする、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレーザー推進装置。
- 前記添加物は、金属、ダイヤモンド、グラファイト、カーボンナノチューブ又はこれらの組み合わせである、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレーザー推進装置。
- 前記推進剤を収容するとともにレーザー光の照射面を形成する開口部を備えた本体部と、前記開口部に向かってレーザー光を照射するレーザー照射装置と、を備え、前記本体部は、前記推進剤に対して一定の圧力を負荷可能な圧力調整装置を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレーザー推進装置。
- 前記本体部は、前記本体部に対して相対移動可能に配置された移動体を備え、前記圧力調整装置は、前記移動体を介して前記推進剤に圧力を負荷する、ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載のレーザー推進装置。
- 前記圧力調整装置は、前記本体部と前記移動体により形成された加圧空間にガスを供給する気蓄器と、供給する圧力を調整するレギュレータと、前記加圧空間の排気と給気を切り替える切替弁と、を有していることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のレーザー推進装置。
