Claims (13)
- 入力カプラーおよび出力カプラーを含む透過型導波路と、
前記出力カプラーの前のアイ・ボックス内の前記導波路を通して現実世界のシーンと共に見える仮想画像を生成するために、前記入力カプラーの方向に光を発するマイクロディスプレイを含む自己発光型マイクロディスプレイシステムと、
前記現実世界のシーンの異なる部分内の光のレベルを検出するための二次元光センサと、
前記自己発光型マイクロディスプレイシステムが含む、前記仮想画像と前記現実世界のシーンとの間の所望の局所的なコントラスト値を保存するために前記自己発光型マイクロディスプレイの各画素からの光出力を制御する駆動電子装置と、
を含む接眼ディスプレイであって、
前記駆動電子装置が、前記仮想画像の第1および第2の部分と重なる前記現実世界のシーン内のそれぞれ異なる検出された局所的な光のレベルに応じて、前記仮想画像の前記第1の部分における前記各画素の光出力を、前記仮想画像の前記第2の部分における前記各画素の光出力に対して調節し、
前記マイクロディスプレイが、前記導波路と同一平面上に取り付けられる、接眼ディスプレイ。 - 前記入力カプラーおよび前記出力カプラーが、回折格子として形成され、前記入力カプラー回折格子と前記出力カプラー回折格子との間の回折格子の形態のビーム拡大器を更に含む、請求項1記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記透過型導波路を通した前記現実世界のシーンからの光の通過を調整する電子光学変調器を更に含む、請求項1記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記電子光学変調器が、前記仮想画像と前記現実世界のシーンとの間の所望の局所的なコントラスト値を保存するために前記即時の現実世界のシーンからの光の局所的な通過を差動的に減衰させることに備えた制御電子装置を含む、請求項3記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記マイクロディスプレイからの光を前記入力カプラーへと伝えるための正の結像光学系およびミラーを更に含む、請求項1記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記マイクロディスプレイと前記導波路との間にヒートシンクを更に含む、請求項1記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記マイクロディスプレイが、ヒートシンクとともに前記導波路に取り付けられる、請求項1記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記マイクロディスプレイ及び前記ヒートシンクは、前記導波路に沿って、内部全反射条件を維持するための空隙を設けるためにシムにより取り付けられている、請求項6又は7記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記ミラーが、光を前記マイクロディスプレイから前記正の結像光学系に導くためのプリズム形状の反射構造を含む、請求項5記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記正の結像光学系が、前記正の結像光学系と前記マイクロディスプレイとの間の光路長に等しい焦点距離を有する、請求項5記載のディスプレイ。
- アイ・ボックス内の現実世界のシーンと重なる仮想画像を提示する方法であって、
自己発光型マイクロディスプレイシステムを用いて、アイ・ボックスまでの導波路の長さに沿って伝えられる前記仮想画像であって、前記導波路を透過した現実世界のシーンと共に見える前記仮想画像を生成する工程であって、前記マイクロディスプレイシステムが、前記導波路と同一平面上に取り付けられている工程と、
前記現実世界のシーンのそれぞれ異なる部分内の光のレベルを検出する工程と、
前記仮想画像と前記現実世界のシーンとの間の所望の局所的なコントラスト値を保存するために、前記自己発光型マイクロディスプレイシステムの各画素からの光出力を制御する工程と、
を含み、
制御する前記工程が、前記仮想画像の第1の部分および第2の部分と重なる前記現実世界のシーン内の検出されたそれぞれ異なる局所的な光のレベルに従って、前記仮想画像の前記第1の部分における前記各画素の光出力を、前記仮想画像の前記第2の部分における前記各画素の光出力に対して調節することを含む、方法。 - 前記仮想画像と前記現実世界のシーンとの間の所望の局所的なコントラスト値を保存するために、前記導波路を通る前記現実世界のシーンからの光の通過を減衰させる工程を含む、請求項11記載の方法。
- 前記仮想画像と前記現実世界のシーンとの間の所望の局所的なコントラスト値を保存するために、前記導波路を通る前記現実世界のシーンからの光の局所的な通過を差動的に減衰させる工程を含む、請求項11記載の方法。
