Description
(1)セラミック多孔体からなるフィルタ基材に、平均粒径が0.8μm以下である粉末を含む、触媒コート層を形成するためのスラリーを、フィルタ基材1L当たり60〜140gのコート量でコートして、平均開口率が、式:−0.12x+22.90(xはコート量(g/フィルタ基材1L)である。)により算出される値以上となるフィルタ触媒を製造する方法。
フィルタ基材として、セル数300cPsi(cells per square inch)、容量1.3L、全長122mm、概形118mm、隔壁の平均細孔径20μm、隔壁の気孔率65%のコージェライト製のウォールフロー型のハニカム基材を用いた。
圧損上昇率(%)=(触媒コート後の圧損−触媒コート前の圧損)/触媒コート前の圧損
により求めた。
開口率測定のイメージ図を図3に示す。
(1)フィルタ触媒の入口端面から出口端面までを等間隔で区切り、各区間について、隔壁表面を排ガス流入側及び排ガス流出側からSEMによりそれぞれ撮像した。
(2)撮像したSEM画像の2値化処理を行った。
(3)2値化処理を行ったSEM画像のイメージ図を図4に示す。2値化処理を行った画像において、開口部は信号強度が弱く、暗く表示される。観察視野における暗い領域(開口部)の面積率を求めることで、観察視野における開口率を算出した。
(4)フィルタ触媒の各観察区間について、排ガス流入側と排ガス流出側から観察して得られた開口率のうち低い方の値をその観察区間の開口率とし、その値の平均値を算出することで平均開口率を求めた。

- 入口端面から出口端面まで延びる複数のセルと、各セルを仕切る隔壁とを有し、セルの入口端面側の端部と出口端面側の端部が目封止部により交互に目封止されたウォールフロー型のセラミック多孔体からなるフィルタ基材に、平均粒径が0.8μm以下である粉末を含む、触媒コート層を形成するためのスラリーを、フィルタ基材1L当たり60〜140gのコート量でコートして、触媒コート層が形成された領域の平均開口率が、式:−0.12x+22.90(xはコート量(g/フィルタ基材1L)である。)により算出される値以上となるフィルタ触媒を製造する方法であって、
触媒コート層を形成するためのスラリーとして、異なる触媒粉末を含み、粉末の平均粒径が同じである2種以上のスラリーを用いる、フィルタ触媒の製造方法。
