Description
本出願は2015年02月16日付け韓国特許出願第10−2015−0023159号に基づいた優先権の利益を主張し、該当韓国特許出願の文献に開示されたすべての内容は本明細書の一部として含まれる。
本出願は、液晶素子、液晶素子の製造方法および液晶素子の用途に関するものである。
(ne+no)/2−b≦{(2no 2+ne 2)/3}0.5≦(ne+no)/2+b
液晶素子は遮光率可変特性が優秀である。液晶素子は、例えば、初期状態および電圧の印加のような外部作用が存在する状態での遮光率が3%〜90%範囲内で可変する素子であり得る。本出願に係る液晶素子は、異方性染料がポリマーネットワーク内に汚染されることを防止することによって、透過度阻害要因を解消することができるため、優秀な遮光率可変特性を示すことができる。
ウレタンアクリレート多官能性オリゴマー(SU530、Mw:5、000、ソルテック社製)100mg、2官能性アクリレート(HDDA、aldrich社製)300mg、3官能性アクリレート(PETA、aldrich社製)20mg、一官能性アクリレート(EHA、TCI社製)570mgおよび光開始剤(Zs−539、fuji film社製)10mgを混合して高分子前駆物質を製造し、前記前駆物質に液晶化合物(HPC21600、HCCH社製)2.3gを添加した後、直径10μmのボールタイプのスペーサー40mgを入れて、7時間の間攪拌器で攪拌した後PDLC組成物を製造した。ITO透明電極層が蒸着されたPETフィルム(100mm×100mm)(以下、PET/ITOフィルム)のITO層表面に前記PDLC組成物をmayer bar(#10)を利用してバーコートした後、soft mold(直径:200um、隔壁幅:20um、隔壁高さ:15um)を覆ってラミネーションした後、30mWの高圧水銀灯下で20秒の間UVを照射してPET/ITOフィルム面にImprinted PDLCを転写させた。次に、他のPET/ITOフィルムに液晶化合物(HPC21600、HCCH社製)2gおよび異方性染料(X12、BASF社製)20mgを含む第2液晶組成物をコーティングした後、前記二つのフィルムをラミネーションした。
ウレタンアクリレート多官能性オリゴマー(SU530、Mw:5、000、ソルテック社製)100mg、2官能性アクリレート(HDDA、aldrich社製)300mg、3官能性アクリレート(PETA、aldrich社製)20mg、一官能性アクリレート(EHA、TCI社製)570mg、異方性染料(X12、BASF社製)23mgおよび光開始剤(Zs−539、fuji film社製)10mgを混合して高分子前駆物質を製造し、前記前駆物質に液晶化合物(HPC21600、HCCH社製)2.3gおよび異方性染料(X12、BASF社製)20mgを添加した後、直径25μmのボールタイプのスペーサー20mgを入れて、7時間の間攪拌器で攪拌した後、液晶組成物を製造した。その後、PET/ITOフィルムのITO層表面に前記液晶組成物をmayer bar(#14)を利用してバーコートした。コーティングされた組成物上に他のPET/ITOフィルムが接するように積層した後、30mWの高圧水銀灯下で20秒の間UVを照射して液晶素子を製造した。
実施例1および比較例1の液晶素子に対して、ヘイズメータ(hazemeter、NDH−5000SP)を利用して初期状態での総透過率および電圧が印加された状態での総透過率を測定して遮光率を評価し、その結果を図4および表1に示した。総透過率評価結果、比較例1の液晶素子は初期状態および電圧が印加された状態での総透過率が21%〜55%で変化する反面、実施例1の液晶素子は初期状態および電圧が印加された状態での総透過率が23%〜72%で変化した。このような遮光率評価結果から、比較例1の液晶素子は異方性染料によるポリマーネットワークの汚染により遮光率可変特性が低下する反面、実施例1の液晶素子は異方性染料によるポリマーネットワーク汚染を減少させることができるため、遮光率可変特性が優秀であることを確認することができる。

Claims (15)
- 液晶素子であって、
ポリマーネットワークおよび前記ポリマーネットワーク内に分散された状態で存在する第1液晶化合物を含む2つ以上の隔壁、および
前記2つ以上の隔壁の間に形成される領域に存在する第2液晶化合物および異方性染料を含む液晶層を有し、
前記2つ以上の隔壁は前記異方性染料を含まず、
前記ポリマーネットワークは、視認される面と、前記視認される面とは反対側の面とを有し、
前記液晶層は、前記ポリマーネットワークの、前記視認される面と、前記視認される面とは反対側の面との、いずれか一方の面にのみ接する、
液晶素子。 - 隔壁間の間隔が10μm以上〜1000μm以下の範囲内である、
請求項1に記載の液晶素子。 - 隔壁の幅は3μm以上〜100μm以下の範囲内である、
請求項1または2に記載の液晶素子。 - 隔壁の高さは3μm以上〜100μm以下の範囲内である、
請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の液晶素子。 - 液晶層の全体面積100%対比隔壁の面積比率は0.1%〜50%範囲内である、
請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の液晶素子。 - 第1液晶化合物、第2液晶化合物または異方性染料は、初期段階において、整列されていない状態で存在する、
請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の液晶素子。 - 異方性染料は黒色染料またはカラー染料である、
請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の液晶素子。 - 隔壁、または第2液晶化合物および異方性染料が存在する領域と隣接している基材層をさらに含む、
請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の液晶素子。 - 隔壁、または第2液晶化合物および異方性染料が存在する領域と隣接している電極層をさらに含む、
請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の液晶素子。 - 遮光率が3%〜90%範囲内で可変する、
請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の液晶素子。 - 前記2つ以上の隔壁の間に形成される領域に前記ポリマーネットワークは存在しない、
請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の液晶素子。 - 硬化性のポリマーネットワーク前駆物質と第1液晶化合物を含む組成物を用いて2つ以上の隔壁を形成し、
前記2つ以上の隔壁の間に形成されている領域に第2液晶化合物および異方性染料を含む液晶層を位置させることを含み、
前記2つ以上の隔壁は前記異方性染料を含まない、
液晶素子の製造方法。 - 隔壁は硬化性のポリマーネットワークの前駆物質と第1液晶化合物を含む組成物の層をインプリントして形成する、
請求項12に記載の液晶素子の製造方法。 - 硬化性のポリマーネットワーク前駆物質と第1液晶化合物を含む組成物を用いて形成した2つ以上の隔壁が表面に存在する第1基材と第2液晶化合物および異方性染料を含む層が形成されている第2基材を互いに積層することを含む、
請求項12または13に記載の液晶素子の製造方法。 - 請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載の液晶素子を含む、
