Description
該方法は、第2のアイテムが目的のために必要か否かを判定することと、ユーザがアクセス制御領域に保管される新たなアイテムに関して新たな目的を有するか否かを判定することとを含むことができる。本発明の実施形態では、該方法はアクセス制御領域の外部に位置するアイテムからの情報を外部スキャナを用いて読み取ることを含む。
本発明は医療施設内の保管キャビネット、カート、または位置などの使用場所で採用されるRFID技術を利用するが、医療施設にのみ限定されない。RFID技術は、キャビネット、またはRFIDリーダとアンテナによって監視されるその他の密閉領域内のアイテムの定期的スキャンを通じて、自動在庫管理性能を提供するのに使用される。また、RFID技術は、アイテムがRFIDキャビネットまたはその他の監視位置から抜き取られる際に、アイテムを個別にスキャンするためにも採用される。
したがって、トランザクションRFIDリーダ108は、扉102が開放され、アイテムがキャビネットの内部から取り出されている、あるいはキャビネットの内部に補充されているときにスキャンを実行できるように、扉102に対して適切に位置決めすることができる。上記アイテムの取出または補充に関する情報は、コンピュータシステム110を用いてデータベースに記憶させ、あるいはデータベースと照合(遠隔コンピュータシステムに送信する)することができる。個々のアイテムの検出および記憶プロセスは約2秒未満で実行し、多忙な医師のために遅延を最小限にする、あるいは排除することができる。アイテムを含むトランザクションはデータベースに記録する、および/またはデータベースと照合することができる。
Claims (20)
- RFIDタグ付きアイテムを監視するキャビネットシステムであって、
アイテムを保管する内部と、
前記アイテムへのアクセスを提供する少なくとも1つの扉と、
を備えるキャビネットと、
前記キャビネット内に置かれた前記アイテムの少なくともいくつかに位置するRFIDタグに埋め込まれたデータを読み取り識別する静的RFIDシステムであって、前記少なくとも1つの扉が閉鎖されているとき、前記キャビネットの内部に配置されるほぼすべての前記アイテムをスキャンするように構成される静的RFIDシステムと、
前記キャビネットから前記アイテムのうちの1つが取り出される時に、前記キャビネット内におけるその他のアイテムをスキャンすることなく、取り出される前記アイテムのRFIDタグのデータのみを読み取るトランザクションRFIDシステムであって、前記扉が開放されているときに動作可能であるトランザクションRFIDシステムと、
前記少なくとも1つの扉の開閉を検出するように構成されるコンピュータシステムと、
を備え、
前記コンピュータシステムがユーザを識別する入力を受信し、
前記コンピュータシステムが前記静的RFIDシステムと前記トランザクションRFIDシステムとによって前記RFIDタグから読み取られるデータを定期的に記録するように構成されるキャビネットシステム。 - 前記キャビネットが複数の扉をさらに備え、前記内部が複数の保管領域を備え、前記複数の扉がそれぞれ前記複数の保管領域の対応する保管領域へのアクセスを制御する、請求項1に記載のキャビネットシステム。
- 前記複数の保管領域のそれぞれが異なるアクセスレベルを備える、請求項2に記載のキャビネットシステム。
- 前記トランザクションRFIDシステムが、約2秒未満の検出時間で前記RFIDタグのうちの1つのデータを読み取るように構成される、請求項1に記載のキャビネットシステム。
- 前記コンピュータシステムが前記キャビネット内のアイテムと使用期限情報とを相関させて記録するように構成され、前記アイテムのそれぞれの使用期限が近づいている、あるいは使用期限切れであるという表示を提供する、請求項1に記載のキャビネットシステム。
- 前記入力が、生体認証識別子、ユーザ名、パスワード、ユーザに割り当てられた無線装置からの信号のうち1つ以上を備える、請求項1に記載のキャビネットシステム。
- 外部アイテムリーダをさらに備え、前記外部アイテムリーダがRFIDスキャナとバーコードリーダの少なくとも一方を備える、請求項1に記載のキャビネットシステム。
- RFIDタグ付きアイテムの監視方法であって、
アクセス制御領域を画定する筐体の内部に複数のアイテムを記憶することであって、前記内部へのアクセスが1つ以上の扉を介して取得され、前記アイテムの少なくともいくつかが電子的に読取可能な識別データに関連付けられることと、
前記扉が閉鎖されているとき、前記アクセス制御領域内に位置するほぼすべてのRFIDタグのデータを読み取り、ほぼすべての前記アイテムを監視するために1つ以上の静的RFIDスキャナを用いることと、
在庫をデータベースに記憶することと、
前記アクセス制御領域へのアクセスを要求するユーザを認証することと、
前記アクセス制御領域に補充される、あるいは前記アクセス制御領域から取り出されるアイテムに関して入力された目的を受信することと、
前記扉が開放されている間、ユーザが前記アクセス制御領域から前記アイテムを取り出す、あるいは前記アクセス制御領域に前記アイテムを補充する際に、1つ以上のトランザクションRFIDスキャナを用いて、前記アクセス制御領域内におけるその他のアイテムをスキャンすることなく、取り出されるあるいは補充される前記アイテムのRFIDタグのみをスキャンすることと、前記データベースに前記アイテムの取出または補充を記録することと、
を備える方法。 - ユーザを認証することが、生体認証識別子、ユーザ名、パスワード、前記ユーザに割り当てられた無線装置からの信号から選択される1つ以上のユーザ入力を認証することを備える、請求項8に記載のアイテムの監視方法。
- 1つ以上の静的RFIDスキャナを用いることが、予定された間隔でほぼすべての前記アイテムを定期的にスキャンすることを備える、請求項8に記載のアイテムの監視方法。
- RFIDタグをスキャンすることが約2秒未満で完了する、請求項8に記載のアイテムの監視方法。
- 前記アイテムと使用期限情報とを相関させて記憶することと、前記アイテムが使用期限に近づいている、あるいは使用期限切れであるという表示を提供することとをさらに備える、請求項8に記載のアイテムの監視方法。
- 前記1つ以上の扉が開放されているとき、前記1つ以上のトランザクションRFIDスキャナを始動することと、前記1つ以上の扉が閉鎖されているとき、前記1つ以上のトランザクションRFIDスキャナを停止することとをさらに備える、請求項8に記載のアイテムの監視方法。
- 前記1つ以上の扉が閉鎖されているとき、前記1つ以上の静的RFIDスキャナを起動することと、前記1つ以上の扉が開放されているとき、前記1つ以上の静的RFIDスキャナを停止することとをさらに備える、請求項8に記載のアイテムの監視方法。
- 外部スキャナを用いて、前記アクセス制御領域の外部に位置するアイテムから情報を読み取る、請求項8に記載のアイテムの監視方法。
- RFIDタグ付きアイテムの監視方法であって、
アクセス制御領域へのアクセスを制御する1つ以上の扉が閉鎖されているとき、アクセス制御領域内に配置された少なくともいくつかのアイテムに位置するRFIDタグに埋め込まれたデータを読み取り識別して、ほぼすべての前記アイテムの在庫を監視するために1つ以上の静的RFIDスキャナを使用することと、
前記在庫をデータベースに記憶することと、
在庫管理システムのユーザを認証することと、
前記ユーザに前記アイテムへのアクセスを提供するため前記1つ以上の扉を解錠することと、
前記ユーザが前記アクセス制御領域から前記アイテムのうちの1つを取り出す際に、1つ以上のトランザクションRFIDスキャナを用いて、前記アクセス制御領域内におけるその他のアイテムをスキャンすることなく、取り出される前記アイテムのRFIDタグのみをスキャンすることと、
前記ユーザが前記アイテムにアクセスするのを防止するため前記1つ以上の扉を施錠することと、
前記データベースに前記アイテムの取出を記録することと、
を備える方法。 - アクセス制御領域内のアイテムに関して入力された目的を受信することをさらに備える、請求項16に記載のRFIDタグ付きアイテムの監視方法。
