Description
Claims (4)
- 石英ガラスの屈折率を増加させる添加物を含む原料ガスを石英ガラスパイプの内部に供給するとともに、前記石英ガラスパイプを外部からバーナにより加熱することにより前記原料ガスを反応させて、前記添加物を含む石英ガラス層を前記石英ガラスパイプの内壁面に堆積させる堆積工程と、
前記堆積工程の後に前記石英ガラスパイプの第1端側を加熱して封止する封止工程と、
前記封止工程の後に前記石英ガラスパイプを縮径しコラプスするコラプス工程と、
を有し、
前記堆積工程において、前記添加物としてGeO 2 を含む石英ガラス層を前記石英ガラスパイプの内壁面に2層以上堆積させ、最終層または最終層に近づくにつれて、GeO 2 の原料ガスの供給量を低減するとともに、同等の比屈折率差を得るためにAl 2 O 3 の原料ガスを供給する、
