観察者(4)の側に位置し、かつ少なくとも1つの第1の情報を表示するために配設された、少なくとも部分的に透明の第1の反射性液晶ディスプレイセル(20)であって、前記セルが反射性となり情報を表示するアクティブ状態と、前記セルが透過性となりいずれの情報も表示しないパッシブ状態との間で切り替えられるよう配設された、前記反射性液晶ディスプレイセル(20)と;少なくとも1つの第2の情報を表示するよう配設された、少なくとも部分的に透明の第2の発光ディスプレイセル(6)であって、前記セルが光を放出して情報を表示するアクティブ状態と、前記セルが光を全く放出しないパッシブ状態との間で切り替えられるよう配設された、前記発光ディスプレイセル(6)と;及び太陽電池(10)を、前記第2の発光ディスプレイセル(6)及び前記太陽電池(10)が前記第1の反射型液晶ディスプレイセル(20)の下側にこの順で配置されている状態で含み、前記第1の反射性液晶ディスプレイセル(20)及び前記第2の発光ディスプレイセル(6)は、情報を表示するアクティブ状態と、情報を表示しないパッシブ状態との間で切り替え可能であり、前記反射性液晶ディスプレイセル(20)は、ねじれネマティック方式液晶ディスプレイセル、超ねじれネマティック方式液晶ディスプレイセル及び垂直配向型液晶ディスプレイセルを含む群から選択されるとともに、前記観察者(4)の側に位置する吸収性偏光子(30)と、前記反射性液晶ディスプレイセル(20)の下側に配置された反射性偏光子(34)との間に配置され、円偏光子(38)が前記反射性液晶ディスプレイセル(20)と前記第2の発光ディスプレイセル(6)との間に配置される、ディスプレイアセンブリ。 - 前記第1の反射性液晶ディスプレイセル(20)は、接着層(8)を用いて前記第2の発光ディスプレイセル(6)に接着されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のディスプレイアセンブリ。
- 前記接着層(8)は、接着フィルム又は液体接着層で形成されることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載のディスプレイアセンブリ。
- 前記円偏光子(38)は、吸収性直線偏光子(40)及び1/4波長板(42)を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のディスプレイアセンブリ。
- 前記吸収性直線偏光子(40)は、前記反射性偏光子(34)の透過軸に対して平行な透過軸を有することを特徴とする、請求項4に記載のディスプレイアセンブリ。
- 前記反射性液晶ディスプレイセル(20)は双安定型であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のディスプレイアセンブリ。
- 前記第2の発光ディスプレイセル(6)は、前記セルが光を放出して情報を表示するアクティブ状態と、前記セルが光を全く放出しないパッシブ状態との間で切り替えられるよう配設された、透明有機発光ダイオード(TOLED)ディスプレイセル(60)を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載のディスプレイアセンブリ。
- 前記透明TOLEDディスプレイセル(60)は、電界発光層(64)の積層体を含み、前記積層体の各側には、上側透明電極(65)及び下側透明電極(66)が構成されることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載のディスプレイアセンブリ。
