を含み、さらに前記受け取ること、前記結合すること、及び前記引き出すことは同時に実施される方法。 - 前記方法は、前記母材(290)から形成される前記半径充填材(390)の所望の断面積、前記母材(290)から形成される前記半径充填材(390)の所望の断面形状、及び前記母材(290)から形成される前記半径充填材(390)の所望の機械剛性のうちの少なくとも1つに、少なくとも部分的に基づいて、前記複数の複合テープ(160)のうちの少なくとも1つの幅、相対方向、及び構成材料うちの少なくとも1つを選択的に変えることを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の複合テープ(160)は任意の数の複合テープ(160)を含み、且つ前記方法は前記任意の数の複合テープ(160)の数を選択的に変えることをさらに含み、前記選択的に変更することは、(i)前記母材(290)から形成される前記半径充填材(390)の断面積を増すこと、及び前記母材(290)から形成される前記半径充填材(390)の機械剛性を変えることのうちの少なくとも1つを行うために、前記任意の数の複合テープ(160)の数を選択的に増すこと、並びに(ii)前記半径充填材(390)の前記断面積を減じること、及び前記半径充填材(390)の前記機械剛性を変えることのうちの少なくとも1つを行うために、前記任意の数の複合テープ(160)の数を選択的に減じること、のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記選択的に変えることは、前記引き伸ばすこと、前記受け取ること、前記結合すること、及び前記引き出すことと同時に実施される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記結合することは、前記複数の複合テープ(160)の中の少なくとも第1の複合テープ(160)を配置することを含み、その結果、前記第1の複合テープは、前記複数の複合テープ(160)の中の第2の複合テープ(160)に平行でない平面に配向される、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記結合することは、前記母材(290)を形成するため母材金型(234)内に前記複数の複合テープ(160)を収束することを含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 半径充填材金型(306)を通って延在する母材供給経路(294)に沿って前記母材(290)を引き伸ばすことと、
前記半径充填材金型(306)内で前記母材(290)から前記半径充填材(390)を形成することと
をさらに含む、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 前記形成することは、前記半径充填材金型(306)の第1端部で前記母材(290)を受け取ること、及び前記半径充填材金型(306)の第2端部から前記半径充填材(390)を引き出すことを含み、前記引き出すことは前記受け取ることと同時に行われる、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記方法は、前記母材(290)を加熱することをさらに含み、前記加熱することは、前記形成に先立って前記母材(290)を加熱すること、前記形成中に前記母材(290)を加熱すること、前記母材(290)に放射熱を供給すること、及び前記半径充填材金型(306)を加熱することのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項7又は8に記載の方法。
- 半径充填材(390)用の母材(290)を形成するように構成された装置(300)であって、前記装置(300)は、
複数の複合テープ(160)を供給するように構成された複合テープ供給源(150)と、
前記複数の複合テープ(160)を受け取り、前記母材(290)を製造するため前記複数の複合テープ(160)を収束するように構成された予備形成構造物(230)と、
前記複合テープ供給源(150)と前記予備形成構造物(230)との間で前記複数の複合テープ(160)を運ぶように構成された駆動機構(120)と
を含み、
前記予備形成構造物(230)は母材金型(234)を含み、前記母材金型(234)は、
第1端部(242)及び第2端部(250)を含む金型本体(238)と、

前記複数の第1開口部(246)の各々は、前記複数の第1開口部(242)のそれぞれの第1開口部(242)の幅に平行な主開口軸(247)を画定し、さらに前記複数の第1開口部(246)の中の選択された第1開口部(246)の選択された主開口軸は、前記複数の第1開口部(246)の中の別の第1開口部(246)の別の主開口軸に対してスキュー角(245)で配向されている、装置。 - 前記装置(300)は、前記予備形成構造物(230)に前記複数の複合テープ(160)を選択的に供給するように構成された複合テープ選択構造物(220)をさらに含む、請求項10に記載の装置(300)。
- 前記複数の複合テープ(160)は任意の数の複合テープ(160)を含み、さらに前記複合テープ選択構造物(220)は、前記任意の数の複合テープ(160)の数を選択的に増すこと、前記任意の数の複合テープ(160)の数を選択的に減じること、及び選択基準に対応して前記複数の複合テープ(160)の少なくとも1つの構成を選択的に変更することのうちの少なくとも1つを行うようにプログラムされる制御装置(224)を含む、請求項11に記載の装置(300)。
- 前記選択基準は、前記母材(290)から形成される前記半径充填材(390)の所望の断面積、前記母材(290)から形成される前記半径充填材(390)の所望の断面形状、前記母材(290)から形成される前記半径充填材(390)の所望の機械剛性、及び前記半径充填材(390)の形成に利用される半径充填材金型(306)の形状のうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項12に記載の装置(300)。
