Description
The present invention relates to a particulate filter with a catalyst that is provided in an exhaust gas passage of an engine and collects and burns away particulates in the exhaust gas.
The exhaust gas of diesel engines and lean-burn gasoline engines contains particulates (particulate particulate matter) mainly composed of carbon. Therefore, a filter is arranged in the exhaust gas passage to collect particulates, and when the collected amount increases, the particulates are burned and removed from the filter to regenerate the filters. It is. A catalyst is supported on the filter body in order to promote the combustion of the particulates.
Pt is generally used as the catalyst metal contributing to the particulate combustion, but Pd and Ag are also known to be effective. For example, Patent Document 1 describes a particulate filter including a catalyst material in which Ag is supported on a complex oxide having oxygen releasing ability. Here, the complex oxide having oxygen releasing ability is one or more selected from perovskite type, spinel type, rutile type, delafossite type, magnetoplumbite type, fluorite type, and ilmenite type. It is said that there is. Furthermore, the composite oxide comprises a combination of two or more elements selected from alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, rare earth metals, transition metals, and noble metals, and absorbs and releases oxygen by changing the valence of atoms. It has been specified that
However, in the above-mentioned Patent Document 1, it is said that the composite oxide having oxygen releasing ability has high heat resistance, so that stable particulate combustion can be obtained over a long period of time. However, the durability of Ag is described in detail. Absent.
For example, in the case of a diesel engine using light oil as fuel, it is known that Ag is easily converted to silver sulfide due to S (sulfur) contained in the light oil, that is, susceptible to sulfur poisoning. Further, in the composite oxide having oxygen releasing ability, for example, when Co, Mn, W, Pr, etc. are contained as components, compounds are also formed by reaction with sulfur. There is also concern about the decline.
Therefore, the present invention has an object of obtaining a particulate filter with a catalyst, in which the performance deterioration due to sulfur poisoning is small even when a catalyst material in which Ag is supported on a complex oxide having an oxygen releasing ability is used in a particulate filter with a catalyst. And
In order to solve the above problems, in the present invention, Ag and a component having an effect of suppressing sulfur poisoning of Ag are co-supported on the composite oxide having an oxygen exchange reaction function.
That is, the particulate filter with catalyst presented here is a particulate combustion catalyst provided on the exhaust gas passage wall of the filter body for collecting particulates in the exhaust gas,
The catalyst is
An Ag-supported Zr-based composite oxide in which Ag is supported as a catalyst metal on a Zr-based composite oxide containing Zr and a rare earth element other than Ce;
A Pt-supported Zr-based composite oxide in which Pt is supported as a catalytic metal on a Zr-based composite oxide containing Zr and a rare earth element other than Ce;
A sulfur poisoning suppressing material that suppresses sulfur poisoning of Ag is supported on the Ag-supported Zr-based composite oxide.
The Zr-based composite oxide has an oxygen exchange reaction in which oxygen in the exhaust gas is continuously taken in and active oxygen is released even when the air-fuel ratio is constantly in a lean state. When Ag is supported on this Zr-based composite oxide, oxygen adsorbed on the Ag surface works as active oxygen and promotes oxidation of particulates. In this Ag-supported Zr-based composite oxide, in the rapid combustion region of particulates (for example, in the first combustion period until the remaining particulate ratio of the filter is 100% to 60% to 50%), the adsorbed oxygen on the Ag surface, In addition, the active oxygen released from the Zr-based composite oxide contributes to rapid combustion by quickly burning particulates adhering to the catalyst surface. Also, after the particulates on the catalyst surface are burned and removed by the rapid combustion, a slow combustion region where the combustion of the particulates becomes slow (combustion until the residual rate of particulates reaches 60% or 50% to 0%). In the latter stage, the particulates that are in a state separated from the catalyst surface can be burned by the released active oxygen and contribute to the promotion of particulate combustion in the slow combustion region.
On the other hand, the Pt-supported Zr-based composite oxide is somewhat inferior in total particulate combustibility combined with rapid combustion and slow combustion compared to the Ag-supported Zr-based composite oxide, but the particulates in the slow combustion region Combustibility is relatively high, and durability (heat resistance) and oxidation performance of HC and CO in exhaust gas are high.
However, as described above, the exhaust gas contains sulfur compounds such as SO 2 , which causes the metal elements in Ag and Zr-based composite oxides to be poisoned by sulfur, and their catalytic activity and oxygen release capacity. There is a fear of lowering.
According to the present invention, the sulfur compound in the exhaust gas is absorbed by the sulfur poisoning suppression material co-supported with Ag on the Zr-based composite oxide, so that Ag as the catalyst metal and Zr as the oxygen release material are absorbed. Sulfur poisoning of the system composite oxide can be suppressed, and a decrease in catalyst performance can be prevented.
Here, the Pt-supported Zr-based composite oxide is not limited to the one in which only Pt is supported on the Zr-based composite oxide, but in addition to Pt, another catalyst metal, for example, Pd is supported (Comparative Example described later) PtPd-supported Zr-based composite oxide which is a second component of 2,5.
The sulfur poisoning suppression material is preferably an alkaline earth metal compound. Alkaline earth metal compounds such as carbonates and oxides can adsorb and / or store SO 2 and the like in the exhaust gas in the form of sulfates. Thereby, the sulfur poisoning of Ag and Zr system complex oxide can be controlled, and the fall of catalyst activity can be controlled. In this case, Sr is preferable as the alkaline earth metal, and Ba can also be preferably used. In addition, as the sulfur poisoning suppressing material, a composite oxide containing Li and Ti, for example, lithium titanate can be preferably used.
The mass ratio Ag / Pt between Ag and Pt in the catalyst is preferably 1/3 or more and 6/1 or less. As a result, good particulate combustion performance can be reliably obtained.
According to the present invention, the catalyst supported on the particulate filter includes an Ag-supported Zr-based composite oxide and a Pt-supported Zr-based composite oxide, and the Ag-supported Zr-based composite oxide suppresses Ag sulfur poisoning. Since the sulfur poisoning suppression material is supported, it is possible to improve the particulate combustion performance in the rapid combustion region and the slow combustion region by effectively using Ag with high catalytic activity, so that the combustion of the particulates can be promoted efficiently.

[Evaluation of filter with catalyst]
-Sample filter-
Sample filters of Examples 1-5 and Comparative Examples 1-6 shown in Table 1 were prepared, and after these samples filters were subjected to S poisoning, the carbon burning rate by these filters was measured. “ZrNdPrOx” in Table 1 means a ZrNdPr composite oxide. Further, “PtPd supported” in Comparative Examples 2 and 5 in Table 1 does not mean an alloy of Pt and Pd, but means that Pt and Pd are supported. Moreover, about Example 1, the carbon burning rate was measured also about the case which does not perform S poisoning process.
Each sample filter uses a SiC honeycomb filter (capacity: 11 mL, cell wall thickness: 16 mil, number of cells: 178 cpsi) as the filter body, and the composition of the ZrNdPr composite oxide is ZrO 2 : Nd 2 O 3 : Pr. 6 O 11 = 70: 12: 18 (molar ratio).
In each sample filter, the amount of support material per 1 L of filter (amount of the first component support material and the second component support material) is 20 g, and the total amount of catalyst metal (noble metal) (first component catalyst metal) And the amount of the catalyst metal of the second component) was 0.5% by mass of the support material amount of 20 g.
The ratio of the amount of support material of the first component and the amount of support material of the second component in Example 1-5 and Comparative Examples 2, 3, 5, and 6 is 1: 1 (mass ratio).
In Example 1-5, the ratio Ag: Pt (mass ratio) of Ag carried by the support material of the first component and Pt carried by the support material of the second component was changed. Sr was used as the S poison control material. The amount of Sr supported was 3.0% by mass of the amount of support material of the first component.
-Measurement of carbon burning rate-
A sample filter is attached to the simulated gas flow reactor, and simulated exhaust gas (C 3 H 6 : 200 ppmC, CO: 400 ppm, NO: 100 ppm, O 2 : 10%, CO 2 : 4.5%, H 2 O as pretreatment) : 10%, remaining N 2 ) was passed through the sample filter at a flow rate of 40 L / min. At this time, after the temperature was raised to 600 ° C. at 30 ° C./min, the temperature was lowered to room temperature by natural temperature falling with the same gas composition conditions.
Thereafter, as S poisoning treatment, a gas containing S component (SO 2 : 500 ppm, O 2 : 10%, remaining N 2 ) was passed through the filter at a flow rate of space velocity SV = 50000 / h for 1 hour. The temperature of the filter was 300 ° C.
After the S poisoning treatment, carbon was deposited on the sample filter. The carbon was deposited by immersing the inlet side of the filter in a solution in which carbon black equivalent to 5 g per liter of filter was dispersed in ion-exchanged water, and sucking from the outlet side. Thereafter, excess water was removed, and drying was performed at 150 ° C. for 1 hour.
After the above treatment, a filter was attached to the simulated gas flow reactor, and the gas temperature was raised while flowing N 2 gas. After the filter inlet temperature is stabilized at 540 ° C., the N 2 gas is switched to the simulated exhaust gas (O 2 ; 7.5%, NO; 300 ppm, remaining N 2 ), and the simulated exhaust gas is flowed at a space velocity of 45000 / h. did. Then, the CO and CO 2 gas concentrations produced by carbon combustion are measured in real time at the filter outlet, and from these concentrations, the carbon combustion rate (unit time) is determined at predetermined intervals using the following formula. Per particulate combustion amount) was calculated.
Carbon burning rate (g / h)
= {Gas flow rate (L / h) x [(CO + CO 2 ) concentration (p particulate) / (1 x 10 6 )]} x 12 (g / mol) /22.4 (L / mol)
The time required for the carbon combustion rate to reach 0% to 40%, from 40% to 90%, and from 0% to 90% is determined based on the carbon combustion rate for each predetermined time. And the integrated value of the amount of carbon combustion in the meantime, the carbon combustion speeds of the rapid combustion region (
-Discussion-
Although not described in Table 1, the carbon combustion rate of Example 1 in which the S poisoning treatment was not performed was 289 mg / min-L in the rapid combustion region (
According to Table 1 showing the results after the S poisoning treatment, Example 1 and Comparative Example 3 differ from Example 1 without the S poisoning treatment in that only the presence or absence of the S poisoning suppression material is different. Although the carbon combustion rate is small, Example 1 has a lower degree of decrease in the carbon combustion rate than Comparative Example 3. That is, comparing the carbon combustion rates of Example 1 and Comparative Example 3 in Table 1, the carbon combustion rate in Example 1 is significantly higher than that in Comparative Example 3 (the carbon in the slow combustion region). As a result, the total carbon combustion rate is increased. This is recognized as a result of suppression of S poisoning of Ag by the S poisoning suppressing material. In addition, it is considered that the S-poisoning of the Pr constituting the Zr-based composite oxide is suppressed by the S-poisoning suppression material, and the decrease in the oxygen exchange reaction is suppressed, which also affects the above result.
Looking at Example 1-5, there is no large difference in the total carbon combustion rate, but as the Ag ratio increases, the carbon combustion rate in the rapid combustion region tends to increase, while the Pt ratio increases. There is a tendency for the carbon combustion rate in the slow combustion region to increase as it increases. Increasing the ratio of Ag is advantageous for improving the carbon combustion rate in the rapid combustion region, but as a result of the relative decrease in the Pt ratio and the deterioration of the carbon combustion rate in the combustion region of the slow combustion region, As in Example 5, since the total carbon burning rate tends to decrease, it is not always preferable to increase the Ag ratio excessively. According to the results of Example 1-5, it can be seen that when the mass ratio Ag / Pt between Ag and Pt is in the range of 1/3 to 6/1, good carbon combustibility is ensured.
Moreover, when the carbon burning rate of the comparative example 1-4 is seen, it is the result of comparative example 1> comparative example 2> comparative example 3> comparative example 4. From this result, it can be said that the carbon burning rate decreases in the order of Ag-supported ZrNdPr composite oxide> PtPd-supported ZrNdPr composite oxide> Pt-supported ZrNdPr composite oxide.
When Comparative Examples 5 and 6 are seen, the carbon burning rate is better for the PtPd-supported ZrNdPr composite oxide than for the Pd-supported ZrNdPr composite oxide.
