Description
図1〜4に示されるように、本発明の好適な実施形態は、ステントの縦軸に沿った中央部8および同一の端部6および7から成るステント3を含む。すべての部分は、直接接続または「s」状リンク機構を介して特定の方法で結合される複数の正弦波状部9(閉鎖)および12(開放)を有する拡張可能なストラット素子9’、9”、12’、12”、および13を有してステントの本体全体を形成する。正弦曲線状の閉鎖セル9は図5に示されるようなストラット9’および9”を有する。正弦曲線状の開放セル12は図6に示されるようなストラット12’および12”を有する。閉鎖セル9のストラット9’および9”は、接合部11を形成する長さに沿って、図5に示されるように接合部10を形成する先端で、相互接続される。ある列の開放セル12は、図6に示されるように「s」状相互接続リンク13によって次の列の別の開放セル14に接合される。ストラット9’、9”、12’、12”、および13の幅は同一でも異なっていてもよく、ステントの所望の特性を達成するように調節することができる。これらの素子およびセルの形状とストラットの幅は、所望の機械的強度および柔軟性をステントに与え、圧着プロセスを容易にするように調節することができる。ステントは軸方向断面にわたって均一に拡張し、特定の展開圧力で全長にわたって特定の直径を達成する。
2.標準的方法を用いて切断したステントを清掃し、汚れ等を除去する。
3.汚れを除去したステントを熱処理して、所望の微細構造ならびに金属の機械的強度および疲労抵抗を得る。
4.熱処理ステントを電解研磨して、工程パラメータを正確に制御することによってストラット(幅および厚さ)の所望の表面特性および正確な最終寸法を達成する。
5.治療薬/生体適合性材料での被覆後にカテーテルのバルーン上にステントを圧着させる。
上記実施形態の様々なサイズのステントに各種機械試験を施し、その結果を以下に示す。
1.異なる機械的強度を提供する閉鎖セルおよび開放セルの構造。
2.中央部が最初に拡張してドッグボーニング作用を解消するステント。
3.形状、寸法、および装着の数と位置を変更することで構造上の柔軟性を提供する形状。
4.十分な機械的特性を有する最薄ストラットのステント。
Claims (5)
- 動脈などの身体内腔に埋め込むための薄く均一なストラット厚を有するバルーン拡張式金属ステントであって、
当該ステント(3)は円筒状の本体を有し、この本体は、中央部(8)と、その中央部(8)に対して本体の軸方向に隣接配置された少なくとも1つの端部(6,7)とを有しており、
当該ステント(3)は、リングを形成する円筒状素子の複数列を備えており、その複数列の円筒状素子は前記本体の軸方向に沿って配列されており、前記円筒状素子の各々は、山と谷とを有する正弦波型素子(9’,9”,12’,12”)の複数個を周方向に連結することで不規則的な曲線湾曲状をなすように構成されており、
前記少なくとも1つの端部(6,7)は、当該端部用の正弦波型素子(9’,9”)で構成された円筒状素子の複数列を備えると共に、
前記少なくとも1つの端部(6,7)は複数の閉鎖セル(9)を備え、これらの閉鎖セル(9)は、隣り合う二列の円筒状素子のうちの一方の正弦波型素子の谷と、隣り合う二列の円筒状素子のうちの他方の正弦波型素子の山とを接続リンクなしに接続することで形成されており、

前記閉鎖セル(9)は前記開放セル(12)よりも機械的に強靭であり、よって前記開放セルよりも大きな径方向拡張抵抗を提供する、ことを特徴とするバルーン拡張式金属ステント。 - 前記少なくとも一つの端部(6,7)は、第1の端部(6)及び第2の端部(7)であり、バルーン拡張時に、前記第1の端部(6)及び第2の端部(7)よりも前記中央部(8)が早く拡張することで、ドッグボーニング作用を解消することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバルーン拡張式金属ステント。
- 前記ステント(3)は、コバルトクロム合金L−605から作製され、ストラットの厚さが35マイクロメートルであると共に、当該ステントは、平均崩壊圧力が少なくとも1.2barの径方向強度、及び、4億サイクルの疲労抵抗を有してなることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のバルーン拡張式金属ステント。
- 前記ストラットの厚さが35マイクロメートルである前記ステント(3)は、放射線不透過性を有することを特徴とする請求項3に記載のバルーン拡張式金属ステント。
- 当該ステントの外周に沿って1つの列をなすセルを「冠部」と定義するとき、当該ステントの外周に沿って1つの列をなす冠部は、平均崩壊圧力が少なくとも1.2barの径方向強度、及び、少なくとも4億サイクルの疲労抵抗を達成すべく、ステントの直径と、閉鎖セル又は開放セルの幅(b)に基づいて決定される数の冠部を具備する、ことを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載のバルーン拡張式金属ステント。
