(2)ビス(グリオキシム)を前記吸着された遷移金属イオンに錯化させて、ビス(グリオキシム)−遷移金属錯体を形成する工程と、を含み、
前記固体ポリマー支持体が、強酸カチオン交換樹脂である、比色水分指示センサを作製する方法である。
湿度制御空気
試験アセンブリを使用して、加湿空気を加湿し混合チャンバに送達し、そこで、乾燥空気と混合され、実施例で詳述される%の相対湿度(%RH)の段階変化に制御された加湿空気を提供した。制御された湿度空気(%RH±1%)を試験チャンバに送達し、そこで、水分インジケータを試験した。
水分指示組成物をインジケータテープの形態で試験及び画像化した。ワットマン濾紙1号の1cm×9cmの矩形片の中心に、約20mgの水分指示組成物を配置した。水分指示組成物を、透明な粘着テープ(SCOTCH Premium Transparent Filmテープ600 Clear(3M Company,St.Paul,MN))の1cm×3cmの一片で被覆し、紙の外縁をテープに密閉し、水分指示組成物を封入し、インジケータテープを形成した。紙側がチャンバの内側に面し、テープ側が頂部ガラスプレートに接触して、インジケータテープを試験チャンバの頂部ゴムシート上の開口部にわたってつるした。制御された湿度空気を、上記に詳述されたように、チャンバ中に流した。
アンバーリスト15イオン交換樹脂(0.10g、Sigma−Aldrich,St.Louis,MO)を、10mLのガラスバイアル瓶中で、酢酸ニッケル四水和物の3.25gの5重量%の水溶液(EM Science,Gibbstown,NJ)中に15分間浸漬した。次いで、ビーズを脱イオン水で洗浄し、上清溶液が無色になるまで、上清溶液を少なくとも3回デカントした。0.12gのジメチルグリオキシム(Mallinckrodt;New York,NY)、水酸化カリウムの11.54gの1M水溶液(BDH/VWR International,West Chester,PA)、及び28.34gの脱イオン水を混合することによって、塩基性ジメチルグリオキシム溶液を調製した。次いで、4.93gのジメチルグリオキシム溶液をビーズのバイアル瓶に添加し、60秒間混合した。次いで、ビーズを脱イオン水で洗浄し、上清溶液が無色になるまで、上清溶液を少なくとも3回デカントした。次いで、湿った濃い赤色のビーズを小さいガラスペトリ皿に移し、66時間、空気中で110℃のオーブンで乾燥させた。乾燥したビーズは、暗緑色を有した。実施例1は、湿潤及び乾燥状態の間で予想外に明確な色の区別を示す。
アンバーライトIRC−50 C.P.イオン交換樹脂(0.35g、Mallinckrodt Chemical Works,St.Louis,MO)を、酢酸ニッケル四水和物の3.80gの5重量%の水溶液(EM Science,Gibbstown,NJ)中に15分間浸漬し、次に、上清溶液が無色になるまで、小さい10mLのガラスバイアル瓶中で、脱イオン水洗浄及びデカントサイクル(少なくとも3回)が続いた。最終デカント後、2.51gの塩基性ジメチルグリオキシム溶液(配合:0.12gのジメチルグリオキシム(Mallinckrodt Chemical Works,New York,NY)+水酸化カリウムの11.54gの1M水溶液(BDH Chemicals,West Chester,PA)+28.34gの脱イオン水)をバイアル瓶に添加し、上清溶液が無色になるまで、小さい10mLのガラスバイアル瓶中で、水洗浄/デカントサイクルを(少なくとも3回)実施する前に、混合物を30秒間混合した。次いで、湿った明るいピンクの固体を小さいガラスペトリ皿に移し、空気中で66時間、110℃のオーブンで乾燥させた。乾燥した固体は、赤色を有した。色の差が比較例1の湿潤及び乾燥状態の間で見られた一方で、比較例1の湿潤及び乾燥状態の間の色の区別は、実施例1の湿潤及び乾燥状態の間の色の区別と比べて、ヒトの目にはほとんど明らかではなかった。
水分指示テープを、実施例1の水分指示組成物に関する上記の通り、調製、試験、及び画像化した。テープを上昇する湿度レベルに曝露した。色の変化が安定し、色の変化が少なくとも20分間観察されなくなるまで、テープを各湿度レベルで保持した。インジケータテープを20〜90分の間曝露した。試験チャンバの温度は、22.9±0.2℃であった。
Claims (2)
- 固体ポリマー支持体と、
前記固体ポリマー支持体に結合したビス(グリオキシム)−遷移金属錯体と、
を含む比色水分指示組成物を含み、
前記固体ポリマー支持体が、強酸カチオン交換樹脂であり、且つスルホン酸基を有する、比色水分指示センサ。 - 水分を検出する連続的な工程を含む方法であって、
(1)
固体ポリマー支持体と、
前記固体ポリマー支持体に結合したビス(グリオキシム)−遷移金属錯体と、
を含む比色水分指示センサを提供する工程であって、
前記固体ポリマー支持体が強酸カチオン交換樹脂であり、且つスルホン酸基を有する、工程、及び
(2)前記比色水分指示センサを湿潤雰囲気に曝露する工程、を含む、方法。
