Description
図1Aは、本発明を実施するディスク駆動装置を示している。図示のように、少なくとも1つの回転可能な磁気ディスク112が、スピンドル114上において支持されており、且つ、ディスク駆動モーター118によって回転する。それぞれのディスク上の磁気記録は、磁気ディスク112上の同心データトラックの環状パターン(図示されてはいない)の形態を有する。
図2は、本発明の一実施形態によるTAR対応型ディスク駆動装置の断面概略図を示している。具体的には、図2は、熱をディスクに伝播させるための光学チャネル又は導波路135を使用するTARディスク駆動装置用のエアベアリングヘッド101と、関連する垂直磁気記録ディスク112と、の一部分を示している。ディスク112は、基板と、垂直磁気記録層(Recording Layer:RL)246と、を含む。一実施形態においては、ディスク112は、任意選択の「軟磁性(soft)」の又は相対的に低保磁力の透磁性基層(SUL)を含んでもよい。但し、SULは、TARディスク駆動装置100にとって必須ではない。
図5は、本発明の一実施形態によるワイヤパッドを有する温度センサの概略図である。図示のように、温度センサ145は、両端部において、2つのワイヤパッド260a、bに接続されている。但し、ワイヤパッド260a、bは、電位がワイヤパッド260a、bの両端に印加された際に電流が温度センサ145の少なくとも一部分を流れることを許容するなんらかの方式によって温度センサ145に接続してもよい。B−Bというラベルが付与された破線は、センサ145及びワイヤパッド260a、bの図3に示されている断面図を示している。

Claims (16)
- ディスク駆動装置のヘッドであって、
前記ヘッドに近接した磁気媒体を加熱するように構成された光学トランスデューサと、 前記光学トランスデューサに熱的に結合されるように構成された温度センサと、
を備え、
前記温度センサと前記光学トランスデューサは、第1距離だけ離隔しており、前記温度センサと前記光学トランスデューサとの間の前記第1距離は、10〜50nmである、ヘッド。 - 前記磁気媒体内に保存されたデータを読み取るように構成された読取り磁極と、
前記磁気媒体にデータを保存するように構成された書込み磁極と、
を更に備え、
前記温度センサは、前記書込み磁極と前記読取り磁極との間に存在する、請求項1に記載のヘッド。 - 前記温度センサは、エアベアリング表面から離れるように奥まった位置にある、請求項1に記載のヘッド。
- 前記磁気媒体内に保存されたデータを読み取るように構成された読取り磁極を更に備え、前記温度センサは、前記光学トランスデューサと前記読取り磁極との間に配置されている、請求項1に記載のヘッド。
- 前記磁気媒体内にデータを保存するように構成された書込み磁極及び戻り磁極を更に備え、前記光学トランスデューサは、前記書込み磁極と前記戻り磁極との間に配置されており、且つ、前記温度センサは、前記光学トランスデューサと前記戻り磁極との間に配置されている、請求項4に記載のヘッド。
- 前記温度センサに接続された少なくとも1つのワイヤパッドを更に備える請求項1に記載のヘッド。
- 前記少なくとも1つのワイヤパッドは、前記温度センサの材料とは異なる材料を有しており、前記少なくとも1つのワイヤパッドの前記材料の電気抵抗値は、前記温度センサの材料に比べて、温度に基づく変化がより小さい、請求項6に記載のヘッド。
- 前記温度センサは、Ta、Pt、Au、Rh、NiFe、及びこれらの組合せのうちの少なくとも1つを有し、且つ、前記少なくとも1つのワイヤパッドは、Ru、Cu、Ta、Cr、及びこれらの組合せのうちの少なくとも1つを有する、請求項6に記載のヘッド。
- レーザーから、ディスク駆動装置のヘッド内に配置された光学トランスデューサまで、光学エネルギーを伝播させるステップと、
前記光学トランスデューサに熱的に結合された温度センサの電気抵抗値を計測するステップであって、前記電気抵抗値は、前記温度センサの温度と相関しており、且つ、前記温度センサ及び前記光学トランスデューサは、第1距離だけ離隔しており、前記温度センサと前記光学トランスデューサとの間の前記第1距離は、10〜50nmである、ステップと、
前記計測された電気抵抗値に基づいて前記レーザーによって伝播される前記光学エネルギーを調節するステップと、
を有する方法。 - 磁気媒体内に保存されたデータを読み取るように構成された読取り磁極と、
前記磁気媒体にデータを保存するように構成された書込み磁極と、
を更に備え、前記温度センサは、前記書込み磁極と前記読取り磁極の間に存在する、請求項9に記載の方法。 - 前記温度センサは、エアベアリング表面から離れるように奥まった位置にある、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 磁気媒体内に保存されたデータを読み取るように構成された読取り磁極を更に備え、前記温度センサは、前記光学トランスデューサと前記読取り磁極との間に配置されている、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記磁気媒体内にデータを保存するように構成された書込み磁極及び戻り磁極を更に備え、前記光学トランスデューサは、前記書込み磁極と前記戻り磁極との間に配置されており、且つ、前記温度センサは、前記光学トランスデューサと前記戻り磁極との間に配置されている、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記温度センサに接続された少なくとも1つのワイヤパッドを更に有する請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つのワイヤパッドは、前記温度センサの材料とは異なる材料を有しており、前記少なくとも1つのワイヤパッドの前記材料の電気抵抗値は、前記温度センサの材料に比べて、温度に基づく変化がより小さい、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記温度センサは、Ta、Pt、Au、Rh、NiFe、及びこれらの組合せのうちの少なくとも1つを有し、且つ、前記少なくとも1つのワイヤパッドは、Ru、Cu,Ta、Cr、及びこれらの組合せのうちの少なくとも1つを有する、請求項14に記載の方法。
