Description

本発明は、エンジンオイル用添加剤に関するものである。
従来のエンジンオイル用添加剤としては、固体および半固体から選ばれた形状で存在する少なくとも一つの過塩基性の清浄剤、すなわちエンジンに使用される潤滑剤の分解によって生成される酸性の分解生成物を中和し、オイルの塩基性を維持するために潤滑剤に加えられる塩基性化合物を含んだ放出添加剤組成物により、潤滑システムおよびオイルの換油期限を改良するもの（特許文献１）があった。
また従来、エンジンの使用中に、オイルに例えばカーボンブラック、シリカ、アルミナなどの添加剤組成物を溶解して、エンジンの潤滑油中のすす量および／またはエンジンの排気を低下されるもの（特許文献２）があった。
上記従来のエンジンオイル用添加剤では、エンジンの燃費や排煙等の改善が不十分であった。

本発明は、エンジンの燃費向上や排煙改善等の十分な効果が発揮されるエンジンオイル用添加剤を提供することを目的とする。
本発明のエンジンオイル用添加剤は、エンジンオイルに混合添加される粉末状あるいは粒状のリン酸カルシウムまたは炭酸カルシウムを少なくとも含有することを特徴とする。また、上記リン酸カルシウムが天然アパタイトであることを特徴とする。さらに、上記エンジンオイルが、４ストロークガソリンエンジン用オイル、２ストロークガソリンエンジン用オイルあるいはディーゼルエンジン用オイルであることを特徴とする。
本発明のエンジンオイル用添加剤の添加により、エンジンおよびオイルに次のような効果が発揮される。
１）エンジンの燃費が約１０〜３０％向上
２）排ガスの煙（排煙）のすす含量の減少
３）エンジン音（騒音）の低下
４）オイルの温度上昇の抑制
５）オイルの汚れ減少による換油期限の延長化
６）エンジン寿命の延長化
７）エンジンメンテナンス時間の短縮化
８）エンジンのトルク出力・加速性能の向上
以下、本発明のエンジンオイル用添加剤の実施例について説明する。
本発明において、エンジンオイル（モーターオイルともいう）に添加される添加剤としては、粉末状あるいは粒状のリン酸カルシウム、例えば、天然アパタイト（ハイドロキシアパタイトCa5(PO4)3(OH)）が好適であるが、これに限定するものではなく、フルオロアパタイトCa5(PO4)3F、塩素燐灰石（chlorapatite）Ca5(PO4)3Cl、炭酸フッ素燐灰石（carbonate-fluorapatite）Ca5(PO4,CO3)3F、あるいは炭酸水酸燐灰石（carbonate-hydroxylapatite）Ca5(PO4,CO3)3(OH)であってもよい。また、このリン酸カルシウムに代えて、あるいはリン酸カルシウムと共に、炭酸カルシウムCaCO3を添加してもよい。
また、上記添加剤の添加量としては、例えば、一般的な乗用車（排気量2,000ccクラス）のエンジンに約４リットルのエンジンオイルに対して、上記天然アパタイト粉末を約８ｇ（約スプーン２杯）添加する。添加の時期としては、オイル交換の際に、予めオイルに混合添加してからエンジン室に注入するか、新しいオイルをエンジン室に入れてから、添加剤を入れる。
エンジンオイルとしては、４ストロークガソリンエンジン用オイル、２ストロークガソリンエンジン用オイルあるいはディーゼルエンジン用オイルのいずれにも添加可能である。

Claims (3)

  1. エンジンオイルに混合添加される粉末状あるいは粒状のリン酸カルシウムを含有することを特徴とするエンジンオイル用添加剤。
  2. 上記リン酸カルシウムが天然アパタイトであることを特徴とする請求項１に記載のエンジンオイル用添加剤。
  3. 上記エンジンオイルが、４ストロークガソリンエンジン用オイル、２ストロークガソリンエンジン用オイルあるいはディーゼルエンジン用オイルであることを特徴とする請求項１または２に記載のエンジンオイル用添加剤。
