料に取り付けられ、グラフト材料によりほぼ覆われてもよい)は、従来のzステントと変わらない、概してきつい丸みを有する。しかし近位側の頂点203は、より大きい丸みを有する。近位側の頂点202と遠位側の頂点203との違いは、図5に絵的に図示される。図示された例では、丸みのある近位側の頂点202は6.0mmの曲率半径を有する。一方、よりきつい遠位側の頂点202は、1.0mmの曲率半径を有する。本発明に係る非対称のステントの特定の実施例では、丸みのある近位側の頂点の曲率半径(図5に示す方法で測定される)は、約4mm〜約9mmであってもよく、よりきつい遠位側の頂点の曲率半径は、約0.5mm〜約1.5mmであってもよい。
丸み302bは、中央丸み302aから略等距離にあってもよく、異なる距離に配置されてもよい。ステント300の近位側の頂点として、中央丸み302aの各々は1.0mmの曲率半径を有し、肩丸み302bの各々は0.5mmの丸み曲率半径を有する。遠位側の頂点304は1.0mmの曲率半径を有する。丸屋根形状を有する他の実施例(図示せず)では、近位側の頂点の中央および肩丸みは各々、たとえば0.5mmの同一の曲率半径を有し、遠位側の頂点もまた0.5mmの曲率半径を有してもよい。他の実施例では、中央および肩丸み302a,302bは各々約0.5mm〜約5mmの曲率半径を有し、遠位側の頂点は約0.5mm〜約1.5mmの曲率半径を有してもよい。丸屋根形状を有する他の実施例(図示せず)では、近位側の頂点の中央丸みと各々の肩丸みとの曲率半径の比は約3:1であってもよい。図8はまた、ステントの実施の形態において望ましい比を説明するために有用な三つの距離を示す。「X」は、肩丸み302bの頂点の先端間の距離を示す。「Y」は、遠位側の頂点304の先端間の距離を示す。「N」は、遠位側の頂点304の先端と近位側の丸み302aの頂点の先端との間の、長手軸に沿う距離を示す。望ましい実施の形態は、約1:3〜約7:8のX:Yの比と、約1:1〜約3:1のY:Nの比とを含んでもよい。さらに他の実施例(図示せず)では、この実施例の丸い頂点が、図4−7を参照して述べられた実施例の略半球状の頂点に組み合わされてもよい。

グラフト材料の第一層を含む第1の筒状グラフトを備え、少なくとも1つの管腔が前記グラフト材料の第一層内を長手方向に延び、前記第1の筒状グラフトは、前記グラフト材料の第一層を貫通する第1の開口を含み、前記人工器官はさらに、
前記グラフト材料の第一層に取付けられたグラフト材料の第二層を備え、前記グラフト材料の第二層は、前記第1の筒状グラフトの前記管腔内に設けられ、前記第1の開口を前記第1の筒状グラフトの前記管腔から区画し、前記人工器官はさらに、
前記第1の開口に近接して設けられ、前記グラフト材料の第一層と前記グラフト材料の第二層の間で前記第1の開口に連通する第1の通路と、
近位端および遠位端、ならびにその間を長手方向に延びる管腔を含む第2の筒状グラフトとを備え、
前記第2の筒状グラフトは、前記グラフト材料の第一層と前記グラフト材料の第二層との間に形成された通路と前記第1の開口とを通り抜け、
前記グラフト材料の第一層に結合された少なくとも1つのステントを備え、
前記ステントは、より大きい丸みのある前記近位端側の頂点と、よりきつい丸みのある前記遠位端側の頂点とを有し、
前記第1の開口は前記ステントのうちの少なくとも1つの頂点の近傍に形成され、
前記第2の筒状グラフトは、前記ステントのより大きい丸みのある前記近位端側の頂点の内側を経由して配置される、人工器官。 - 第2の開口と、
前記第2の開口に近接して設けられた第2の通路とを備え、
前記グラフト材料の第二層はさらに、前記第2の開口を前記第1の筒状グラフトの前記管腔から区画し、
前記第2の通路は、前記グラフト材料の第一層と前記グラフト材料の第二層の間で前記第2の開口に連通する、請求項1に記載の人工器官。 - 前記第1および第2の通路は、前記グラフト材料の第一層の外周上において互いに130°から230°離れて位置づけられる、請求項2に記載の人工器官。
- 前記第1の通路は、実質的に円または楕円の形状を有する、請求項1から請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の人工器官。
- 前記第2の筒状グラフトは、前記近位端および遠位端に各々配置された第1および第2のステントを含む、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の人工器官。
- 人工器官であって、
グラフト材料の第一層を含む第1の筒状グラフトを備え、少なくとも1つの管腔が前記グラフト材料の第一層内を長手方向に延び、前記第1の筒状グラフトは、前記グラフト材料の第一層を貫通する複数の開口を含み、前記人工器官はさらに、

前記複数の開口に近接して設けられ、前記グラフト材料の第一層と前記グラフト材料の第二層の間で前記複数の開口うち少なくとも1つに連通する第1の通路と、
近位端および遠位端、ならびにその間を長手方向に延びる管腔を含む第2の筒状グラフトとを備え、
前記第2の筒状グラフトは、前記グラフト材料の第一層と前記グラフト材料の第二層との間に形成された通路と前記複数の開口のうち少なくとも1つとを通り抜け、
前記グラフト材料の第一層に結合された少なくとも1つのステントを備え、
前記ステントは、より大きい丸みのある前記近位端側の頂点と、よりきつい丸みのある前記遠位端側の頂点とを有し、
少なくとも1つの前記開口は前記ステントのうちの少なくとも1つの頂点の近傍に形成され、
前記第2の筒状グラフトは、前記ステントのより大きい丸みのある前記近位端側の頂点の内側を経由して配置される、人工器官。 - 前記グラフト材料の第二層は、近位側セグメントに比べて拡径した遠位側セグメントを含む、請求項6に記載の人工器官。
- 前記拡径した遠位側セグメントは前記グラフト材料の第一層を貫通する複数の開口を概ね取り囲む、請求項7に記載の人工器官。

前記ステントは、より大きい丸みのある前記近位端側の頂点と、よりきつい丸みのある前記遠位端側の頂点とを有し、
前記第1の開口および前記第2の開口は前記ステントのうちの少なくとも1つの頂点の近傍に形成され、
前記第2の筒状グラフトおよび前記第3の筒状グラフトは、前記ステントのより大きい丸みのある前記近位端側の頂点の内側を経由して配置される、人工器官。 - 前記第1および第2の通路は、前記グラフト材料の第一層の外周上において互いに130°から230°離れて位置づけられる、請求項9に記載の人工器官。

- 前記第1の通路は、前記グラフト材料の第一層と前記グラフト材料の第二層との組み合わせによる外周を含み、前記第1の通路の外周の半分よりも小さい部分が前記グラフト材料の第二層により形成される、請求項1から請求項11のいずれか1項に記載の人工器官。
