Description
Claims (15)
- 小角度の光と大角度の光を含む光を所定の範囲の方向へ放出する及び/又は散乱する発光面を有しており、前記小角度の光が前記発光面の法線方向に対して前記大角度の光よりも小さい角度を持っている第1の光源と、
第2の光源及び光学系を含む光リサイクルシステムであって、前記第2の光源は光を放出する及び/又は散乱する発光面を有し、且つ該発光面と前記第1の光源の発光面とが互いに対向するように平行に配置され、前記光学系は前記第1の光源と前記第2の光源との間に配置された1つ又はそれ以上の反射器を含む光リサイクルシステムとを備え、
前記第1の光源から放出される光の中の小角度の光は前記光学系により前記第2の光源に案内され、該第2の光源の発光面で反射又は散乱され、前記第1の光源の発光面に戻り、
前記第2の光源から放出される光は前記光学系により前記第1の光源に案内され、該第1の光源で反射または散乱された光の中の小角度の光は、再度前記光学系により案内され、前記第2の光源に入射することにより、前記小角度の光がリサイクルされる、
ことを特徴とする光源装置。 - 前記光リサイクルシステムの前記反射器は、1つ又はそれ以上の球面反射器、複合放物面集光器、又は平坦な反射器を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光源装置。
- 前記光リサイクルシステムの前記反射器は、小角度の光を反射し、大角度の光を透過する前記発光面に隣接配置された角度選択フィルタを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光源装置。
- 前記大角度の光を集光して出力するための集光システムを更に備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光源装置。
- 前記集光システムは、前記第1の光源の周囲に配置された、1つ又はそれ以上の反射器、もしくは1つ又はそれ以上のプリズム、もしくは1つ又はそれ以上の反射器および1つ又はそれ以上のプリズムの組合せを備えることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の光源装置。
- 前記第1の光源は、発光ダイオードを含み、前記発光面が前記発光ダイオードの表面であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光源装置。
- 前記第1の光源は、
第1の波長を有する第1の励起光を放出する第1の発光ダイオードと、
前記第1の発光ダイオードによって放出される前記第1の励起光を吸収し、前記第1の波長よりも長い波長を有する変換光を放出する少なくとも1つの波長変換材料を有する波長変換素子と、
を含み、
前記発光面は、前記波長変換材料の表面であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光源装置。 - 前記波長変換素子は、2つ又はそれ以上の異なる波長変換材料を有し、前記第1の励起光に2つ又はそれ以上の異なる前記波長変換材料を交互に露出させるように移動可能であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の光源装置。
- 前記第1の発光ダイオードから前記波長変換素子に前記第1の励起光を送達するための送達光学素子を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の光源装置。
- 前記波長変換素子は、逆進行する変換光を前記光リサイクルシステムに向かって順方向に反射するために、前記波長変換材料と前記送達光学素子との間に配置されたダイクロイックフィルタを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の光源装置。
- エアギャップは、前記ダイクロイックフィルタと前記波長変換材料との間に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の光源装置。
- 第2の波長を有する第2の励起光を放出する第2の発光ダイオードと、
前記第2の発光ダイオードによって放出される前記第2の励起光を吸収し、前記第2の波長よりも長い波長を有する変換光を発光する前記波長変換材料に前記第2の励起光を案内するように、前記光リサイクルシステムと協働する光学系と、
を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の光源装置。 - 前記第2の発光ダイオードは、前記光リサイクルシステムの後方に配置され、前記光リサイクルシステムは、前記変換光を反射し、前記第2の励起光を透過するダイクロイック素子を含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の光源装置。
- 前記光学系は、中空又は中実の複合放物面集光器(Compound Parabolic Concentrator、CPC)を含み、前記ダイクロイック素子は、前記CPCの出力ポートに配置されていることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の光源装置。
- 前記光学系は、中空の複合放物面集光器(CPC)と前記中空のCPCの出力ポートの近傍に配置されたレンズを含み、又は中実のCPCと前記中実のCPCの出力ポートの近傍に配置されたレンズを含み、又は湾曲出力面を有する中実のCPCを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光源装置。
