Description
水性オーバーコート配合物#27は、表1に示されるような配合を有するように調製された。以下の表2に、水性オーバーコート配合物#27に使用される共結合剤の構成成分であるJoncryl693 Solutionの詳細を示す。適用および乾燥時、水性オーバーコート配合物#27は、良好な耐摩耗性、耐引掻性、折り特性および高い光沢を示した。
1:熱水(130−150°F)、AMP−95(商標)およびSURFYNOL(登録商標)DF−58脱泡剤(消泡剤)を、高速分配撹拌器を備えた被覆容器に添加した。
2:混合物を撹拌し、JONCRYL(登録商標)693を徐々に添加し、ランプまたはボールの形成を防止した。撹拌を、構成成分が完全に溶解するまで中程度の速度にて継続した。
固体インクジェットプリントは、2つのパッケージング紙:GP33#褐色クラフトおよびGP26#白色トップライナーにて得られた。Xerox自家製装置は、XEROX COLORQUBEプリンタの一部に使用される市販の固体インクと共に使用した。プリントは、600DPIにて得られた。オーバーコートは、0.010インチのワイア直径を有する数字#10Mayerロッドを用いて手動で製造された。次いで湿潤コーティングは、Mathis labコーターのオーブンに送り、90℃で1分乾燥させた。約6−7ミクロン乾燥フィルム(オーバーコート)は、プリントの表面の頂部に得られた。
TABER(登録商標)Rotary Abraserを、摩耗試験のために使用した。ホイールCS−17(粗い)を試験のために使用した。500グラムの重りをホイールに取り付けた。80摩耗サイクルをTABER(登録商標)Rotary Abraderにて行った。図2は、オーバーコーティングされていない記録媒体と、市販の1407Dオーバーコーティング組成物でオーバーコーティングされた記録媒体、および1つの実施形態の記録媒体を比較する回転taber摩耗試験の結果を示す。
自家製の3つのフィンガーゴージ引掻テスターを使用して、固体インクプリントの表面にわたって人の指の引掻きを模倣した。重いロードフィンガー(528g)および中程度のロードフィンガー(264g)を、プリントの表面に下げ、スクラッチャを実行して、フィンガーにより設定速度にてサンプルにわたって直線を引っ掻いた。図3は、オーバーコーティングされてない記録媒体、市販のオーバーコーティング組成物1407Dでオーバーコーティングされた記録媒体、および水性オーバーコート組成物#27でオーバーコーティングされた記録媒体を比較する3つのフィンガーゴージ引掻試験の結果を示す。
この試験は、国際標準ISO16726−2、パート2:コーティングの接着性および粘着性を評価するためのクロスカット試験に従った。試験手順は次の通りである:
1:ルーラーおよび「片刃かみそり」を用いてプリントのコーティングされた表面上に手動で5−7X−カットする。
2:Xerox標準テープA1Xを用いて機器をセットアップする。
3:LINTVIEW機器(Labtech Instruments,Inc.,Laval,Canada)に同梱されたプラスチック裏打ちシートの頂部にプリントを置き、頂部上にXカット領域を注意深く並べる。
4:プラスチック裏打ちシートと共にプリントを、短縁部レディングを通してLINTVIEWに通す。
Claims (5)
- 基材の上の固体インク画像と、
前記固体インク画像を少なくとも部分的に覆うワニス組成物と、
を備えた固体インクプリント物の製造方法であって、
前記ワニス組成物は、乾燥前は、ラテックスエマルション、20重量%〜30重量%の範囲のポリエチレンワックス、共結合剤を含有し、
前記共結合剤は、樹脂、水、消泡剤、及び、アミノアルコールを含む、
固体インクプリント物の製造方法。 - 前記基材は、コーティングされていない紙、コーティングされていないボール紙、コーティングされた紙、コーティングされたボール紙、合成紙、及びプラスチックフィルムからなるグループから選択された材料を含む、請求項1に記載の固体インクプリント物の製造方法。
- 前記ラテックスエマルションが、ポリマーマイクロ粒子、乳化剤、及び水性媒体を含み、
前記ポリマーマイクロ粒子が、アクリル系ポリマー、スチレン/アクリル系ポリマー、ポリエステル、またはこれら2つ以上の混合物を含む、請求項1に記載の固体インクプリント物の製造方法。 - 前記ワニス組成物は、乾燥前は、45重量%〜90重量%のラテックスエマルションを含む、請求項1に記載の固体インクプリント物の製造方法。
- 前記ワニス組成物の粘度は、乾燥前は室温において、50cP〜1000cPである、請求項1に記載の固体インクプリント物の製造方法。
