Next, the insulator 40 will be described. The insulator 40 is an electrically insulating plastic, and is manufactured by known injection molding or cutting. This material is appropriately selected in consideration of dimensional stability, workability, cost, etc. Examples thereof include polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyamide (66PA, 46PA), liquid crystal polymer (LCP), polycarbonate (PC), and synthetic materials thereof. In this embodiment, it is manufactured by injection molding.

The insulator 40 has a substantially box shape. In this embodiment, the insulator 40 includes a main body 402 and flanges 403 on both sides in the longitudinal pitch direction. The main body 402 of the insulator 40 is provided with an insertion hole 401 for holding and arranging the contacts 20. The contact 20 is fixed to the insertion hole 401 by press fitting, hooking (lance), welding, integral molding or the like. In this embodiment, the contact 20 is fixed by press-fitting. The insertion hole 401 may have any shape and size as long as the contact 20 can be held, and is appropriately designed in consideration of holding force, strength, workability, downsizing, and the like.

The main body 402 is provided with a fitting port 12 into which the counterpart is inserted. The shape and size of the fitting port 12 may be designed as long as the fitting port 12 can be fitted to the counterpart, but is designed appropriately in consideration of strength, workability, and the like along the shape and size of the counterpart.

In the present embodiment, the flange 403 is provided with a mounting hole 404 for mounting the fixing tool 60 in order to connect the flange 403 more firmly. The mounting hole 404 only needs to be able to mount the fixture 60 and is appropriately designed in consideration of holding strength, holding force, workability, strength, and the like.

In this embodiment, an erroneous insertion prevention pin 405 for preventing erroneous connection to the connection object is provided on the connection side of the flange 403 with the connection object. The shape and size of the erroneous insertion prevention pin 405 are only required to prevent erroneous insertion, and are appropriately designed in consideration of the role, strength, workability, and the like. In the present embodiment, erroneous insertion is prevented by changing the shape of both ends.

Next, the fixture 60 will be described. The fixture 60 is made of metal and is manufactured by a known press working or cutting process. The material of the fixture 60 is required to have springiness, conductivity, dimensional stability, etc., and examples thereof include brass, beryllium copper, and phosphor bronze. However, any fixing device 60 may be used as long as it can be fixed, such as lance, welding, and integral molding.

Next, another contact 30 in FIG. 4 will be described. Here, only differences from the contact 20 described above will be described. The different part of the contact 20 is in the way of forming the main body 201. In contrast to the box bending of the contact 20, the contact 30 is bent tightly to further reduce the longitudinal pitch direction. The dimensions are twice the plate thickness.

Next, another contact 50 will be described with reference to FIG. Here, only differences from the contact 20 described above will be described. The different parts of the contact 20 are such that one second contact piece 505 is folded back from the tip in a substantially curved shape, and the tip of the other first contact piece 504 is folded in a substantially L shape. And the tips of the second contact pieces 505 are wrapped. By doing in this way, sufficient fitting length can be ensured and it will also invite the said other party. However, the front end of the first contact piece 504 and the second contact piece 505 are designed not to contact each other when completely mated with the counterpart.

Thus, by making the tips of the first contact piece 504 and the second contact piece 505 overlap each other, it is an effective distance from the start of contact to the complete fitting when mated with the counterpart. A sufficient fitting length (effective contact length) can be secured. By keeping the distance between the first contact portion 506 and the second contact portion 507 at about 0.3 to 0.6 mm, it is possible to secure a sufficient effective fitting length.

Based on FIG. 7, the contact of FIG. 1, FIG. 4, and FIG. The contact 90 shown in FIG. 7 is such that the two first contact portions 206, 306, 506 and the second contact portions 207, 307, 507 of the contacts 20, 30, 50 of FIGS. 1, 4, and 5 face each other. The side walls 202, 302, 502 on either the first contact piece 204, 304, 504 side or the second contact piece 205, 305, 505 side are connected by connecting portions 21, 31, 51. Is. The shapes and sizes of the connecting portions 21, 31, and 51 are appropriately designed in consideration of the miniaturization of the connector, the size / shape of the counterpart, the intended use, strength, workability, and the like.

Next, another contact 70 will be described with reference to FIG. Here, only differences from the contact 20 described above will be described. A different part of the contact 20 protrudes from a bottom wall 703 corresponding to the connecting portion 203 in a fitting direction with a counterpart and is provided with a folded back first contact piece 704 to connect to the bottom wall 703. A second contact piece 705 that protrudes in the fitting direction with the counterpart from 702 is provided, and the first contact portion 706 of the first contact piece 704 and the second contact portion 707 of the second contact piece 705 are arranged in the width direction. They are in the same position. In order to make the first contact portion 706 of the first contact piece 704 and the second contact portion 707 of the second contact piece 705 the same position in the width direction, the side wall 702 is bent substantially vertically and the second contact is made. The piece 705 is bent.

Next, another contact 80 will be described with reference to FIG. Here, only differences from the contact 20 described above will be described. A different portion of the contact 20 protrudes from a bottom wall 803 corresponding to the connecting portion 203 in a fitting direction with a counterpart and is provided with a folded back first contact piece 804 to connect to the bottom wall 803. A second contact piece 805 that protrudes in the fitting direction with the counterpart from 802 is provided, and the first contact portion 806 of the first contact piece 804 and the second contact portion 807 of the second contact piece 805 are arranged in the width direction. They are in the same position. In order to make the first contact portion 806 of the first contact piece 804 and the second contact portion 807 of the second contact piece 805 the same position in the width direction, the side wall 802 is bent obliquely.

Finally, what changed the position of the said fixing | fixed part 208 is demonstrated based on FIG.8 and FIG.9. The rest is the same as described above except that the position of the fixing portion 208 is changed. In order to eliminate rolling when the contacts 20, 30, 50 are inserted into the insulator 40, the position of the fixing portion 208 is at least on the contact portion side above the connecting walls 203, 303, 503. One of the two contact pieces was provided. That is, the connecting walls 203, 303, 503 and the side walls 202, 302, 502 that are U-shaped or tightly bent are projected from the insertion hole 401 of the insulator 40 toward the substrate. Further, by providing the fixing portion 208 at such a position, the insulator 40 can be used in common for the single contact and the double contact.

As an application example of the present invention, it is used for contacts used in connectors used in industrial equipment, electrical equipment, electronic equipment, and the like, and in particular, it has a simple structure and is small in the longitudinal pitch direction and the short (width) direction of the connector. The present invention relates to a structure that can be reduced in size and is not damaged even if it is reduced in size, and that provides stable contact (connection) reliability.
