Description
一実施形態において、たとえば、以下の項目が提供される。
(項目1)
エンジンおよびクラッチを有するオートバイを潤滑する方法であって、該クラッチではなく該エンジンに、以下を含む潤滑剤を供給することを含む、方法:
(a)潤滑粘性のある油、
(b)過塩基化清澄剤、
(c)分散剤、
(d)リンの酸の金属塩、および
(e)少なくとも約8個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル置換基を有するヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンであって、該ヒドロキシアルキル置換基は2〜約8個の炭素原子を含むヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリン。
(項目2)
前記ヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンの量は、前記潤滑剤の約0.01〜約5重量%である、請求項1に記載の方法。
(項目3)
前記ヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンは、1−(ヒドロキシアルキル)−2−(ヒドロカルビル)イミダゾリンを含む、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
(項目4)
前記ヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンは、1−(2−ヒドロキシエチル)−2−(C8〜C24脂肪族ヒドロカルビル)イミダゾリンを含む、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の方法。
(項目5)
前記ヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンは、下記式:
(式中、Rは8〜約24個の炭素原子の分枝または非分枝の、飽和または不飽和脂肪族炭化水素基である)
によって表される、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の方法。
(項目6)
前記ヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンは、下記式:
によって表される、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。
(項目7)
前記過塩基化清澄剤は、過塩基化カルシウムスルホネート清澄剤を含む、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の方法。
(項目8)
前記過塩基化清澄剤は、約0.6〜約5重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の方法。
(項目9)
前記分散剤は、スクシンイミド分散剤を含む、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の方法。
(項目10)
前記分散剤は、約0.3〜約6重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の方法。
(項目11)
前記リンの酸の金属塩は、ジアルキルジチオリン酸亜鉛を含む、請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の方法。
(項目12)
前記リンの酸の金属塩は、約0.1〜約4重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の方法。
(項目13)
前記オートバイのエンジンは、4サイクル火花点火ガソリンエンジンである、請求項1〜12のいずれかに記載の方法。
(項目14)
(a)潤滑粘性のある油、
(b)過塩基化清澄剤、
(c)分散剤、
(d)リンの酸の金属塩、および
(e)少なくとも約8個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル置換基を有するヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンであって、該ヒドロキシアルキル置換基は2〜約8個の炭素原子を含むヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリン
を含む、潤滑剤。
(項目15)
請求項14の成分を混合することによって調製された組成物。
(項目16)
(a)潤滑粘性のある油、
(b)過塩基化清澄剤、
(c)分散剤、
(d)リンの酸の金属塩、および
(e)少なくとも約8個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル置換基を有するアルコキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンであって、該アルコキシアルキル置換基は3〜約9個の炭素原子を含むアルコキシアルキル置換イミダゾリン
を含む、潤滑剤。
(項目17)
内燃機関を潤滑する方法であって、請求項1〜16のいずれかに記載の潤滑剤を該内燃機関に供給することを含む、方法。
(項目18)
前記内燃機関はオートバイのエンジンを含み、前記潤滑剤は前記内燃機関と関連するクラッチを潤滑しない、請求項17に記載の方法。

1−(ヒドロキシエチル)−2−(8−ヘプタデセニル)イミダゾリン
1H−イミダゾール−1−エタノール,2−(8−ヘプタデセン−1−イル)−4,5−ジヒドロ−
によって表され得るが、市販の物質が様々な異性体の混合物であってもよく、特に、長いヒドロカルビル鎖が、示されたものからかなりの変形を含み得ることが理解される。特に、ヒドロカルビル鎖内の二重結合は、異なる位置にあってもよく、または完全になくてもよい;それはシスまたはトランスであってもよい;または、様々な位置に1つより多い二重結合があってもよい。炭素鎖は同様に分枝され得る。ヒドロカルビル鎖の詳細な性質は、イミダゾリンが調製され得る脂肪酸の構造を反映し得る。例えば、イミダゾリンがオレイン酸から調製される場合、二重結合は、典型的に、示されるようにヒドロカルビル鎖の8位の位置に、または近傍にある。ステアリン酸などの他の酸は、十分に飽和される。さらに、示されたイミダゾリン構造以外の他の成分が存在し得る。そのような物質は、アミド(非環式)、オキサゾリン、またはエステル縮合生成物を含んでいてもよい。

炭化水素置換基、すなわち、脂肪族(例えば、アルキルまたはアルケニル)置換基、脂環式(例えば、シクロアルキル、シクロアルケニル)置換基、ならびに芳香族、脂肪族、および脂環式置換芳香族置換基、ならびに環が分子の他の部分を介して完成している環状置換基(例えば、2つの置換基が一緒になって環を形成する);
置換炭化水素置換基、すなわち、本発明の状況で、置換基(例えば、ハロ(特にクロロおよびフルオロ)、ヒドロキシ、アルコキシ、メルカプト、アルキルメルカプト、ニトロ、ニトロソおよびスルホキシ)の主に炭化水素的性質を変えない非炭化水素基を含む置換基;
ヘテロ置換基、すなわち、本発明の状況で、主に炭化水素の特性を有しているが、環または鎖の中に炭素以外のもの(その他は炭素原子からなる)を含み、ピリジル、フリル、チエニルおよびイミダゾリルのような置換基を包含する置換基。ヘテロ原子としては、硫黄、酸素、および窒素が挙げられる。通常、ヒドロカルビル基中の10個の炭素原子毎に2つ以下または1つ以下の非炭化水素置換基が存在する;あるいは、ヒドロカルビル基中に非炭化水素置換基が存在しなくてもよい。

1.1%過塩基化カルシウムスルホネートおよびフェネート清澄剤(44%油)

実施例2
参照配合物Aに類似する別の配合物が調製される。しかし、それはグループIIの鉱油で調製される;DIパッケージは、3.9%スクシンイミド分散剤(50%油)、2.9%過塩基化CaおよびNaフェネートおよびスルホネート清澄剤(27〜42%油)、1.0%ジアルキルジチオリン酸亜鉛(9%油)、0.25%アミン酸化防止剤、140ppm商用消泡剤、ならびに少量の追加希釈油を含む。配合物は1−ヒドロキシエチル−2−(ヘプタデセニル)イミダゾリン0.5%を添加することによってトップ処理される。

下記量のイミダゾリン物質を含む、参照配合物Cに類似する潤滑配合物を調製する:
Claims (14)
- エンジンおよびクラッチを有するオートバイを潤滑する方法であって、該クラッチではなく該エンジンに、以下を含む潤滑剤を供給することを含む、方法:
(a)潤滑粘性のある油、
(b)過塩基化清澄剤、
(c)分散剤、
(d)0.1〜2重量パーセントのリンの酸の金属塩、および
(e)0.1〜2重量パーセントの少なくとも8個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル置換基を有するヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンであって、該ヒドロキシアルキル置換基は2〜8個の炭素原子を含み、該ヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンは、下記構造
(式中、Rは少なくとも8個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル置換基である)
の物質からなる、ヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリン。 - Rは8〜24個の炭素原子の分枝または非分枝の、飽和または不飽和脂肪族炭化水素基である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンは、下記式:
によって表される、請求項1または請求項2に記載の方法。 - 前記過塩基化清澄剤は、過塩基化カルシウムスルホネート清澄剤を含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記過塩基化清澄剤は、0.6〜5重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記分散剤は、スクシンイミド分散剤を含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記分散剤は、0.3〜6重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記リンの酸の金属塩は、ジアルキルジチオリン酸亜鉛を含む、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記オートバイのエンジンは、4サイクル火花点火ガソリンエンジンである、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- エンジンおよびクラッチを有するオートバイを潤滑するための潤滑剤であって、ここで、該潤滑剤は、該クラッチではなく該エンジンに供給されるものであって、
(a)潤滑粘性のある油、
(b)過塩基化清澄剤、
(c)分散剤、
(d)0.1〜2重量パーセントのリンの酸の金属塩、および
(e)0.1〜2重量パーセントの少なくとも8個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル置換基を有するヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリン
を含み、
ここで、該ヒドロキシアルキル置換基は2〜8個の炭素原子を含み、該ヒドロキシアルキル置換イミダゾリンは、下記構造

- 前記分散剤(c)は硫酸灰分を前記潤滑剤に寄与させない、請求項1〜9または請求項12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記分散剤(c)は硫酸灰分を前記潤滑剤に寄与させない、請求項10または請求項11に記載の潤滑剤。
