Description
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an optical member.
For example, as a plastic lens used for spectacles or the like, a lens having a high refractive index has been actively researched and developed in recent years in order to realize a reduction in thickness.
A plastic lens is advantageous in that it is lighter and more workable than a conventional glass lens, and exhibits a relatively high strength against impact. On the other hand, it has a disadvantage that it is inferior in friction resistance and weather resistance than a glass lens due to its low hardness.
Therefore, in particular, when a plastic lens is applied to a spectacle lens, it is generally performed to form a cured film called a hard coat layer on the plastic lens.
Furthermore, when a plastic lens is applied to a spectacle lens, an antireflection layer is generally formed on the hard coat layer. However, if the refractive index difference between the antireflection layer and the hard coat layer is too large, interference fringes are formed. Therefore, a material having a high refractive index is required as a constituent material of the hard coat layer.
As a hard coat layer realizing such a high refractive index, for example, a hard coat layer formed using a hard coat material containing an organosilicon compound (silane coupling agent) and a metal oxide is known.
More specifically, after preparing a hard coat layer forming material containing an organosilicon compound or a hydrolyzate thereof and a metal oxide (composite oxide sol), and supplying the hard coat material onto a plastic lens A sol-gel method is known in which a hard coat layer is obtained by gelation by heating.
Moreover, in the spectacle lens provided with such a hard coat layer, the cause of the occurrence of the above-mentioned interference fringes may be that a hard coat layer having a non-uniform film thickness is formed. For this purpose, as shown in
In the method described in
However, in this method, in order to create a database showing the relationship between the film formation conditions and the film thickness, it is necessary to form a hard coat layer for a plurality of samples and obtain the relationship between the film formation conditions and the film thickness. There is a problem that it takes time and labor.
An object of the present invention is to provide an optical member manufacturing method capable of manufacturing an optical member in which a hard coat layer having a uniform film thickness is formed in a use region of an eyeglass lens without requiring time and labor. It is in.
Such an object is achieved by the present invention described below.
The method for producing an optical member of the present invention includes:
With the curved concave surface of the lens base material vertically upward, supplying a hard coat layer forming material that forms a liquid for forming a hard coat layer so as to cover the curved concave surface;
Reversing the curved concave surface of the lens base material vertically downward;
Heating the hard coat layer forming material to form the hard coat layer.
When the liquid hard coat layer forming material is applied with the curved concave surface vertically upward, and the lens substrate is inverted, the hard coat layer forming material flows down the curved concave surface. Thereby, the film thickness of the center part of the lens for which appropriate optical performance is required as spectacles becomes uniform. Therefore, it is possible to manufacture an optical member in which a hard coat layer having a uniform film thickness is formed in the eyeglass lens use region without requiring time and labor.
In the method of manufacturing an optical member of the present invention, after the reversing step, the hard coat layer forming material flows down the curved concave surface that is vertically downward, and stays at the edge of the curved concave surface, whereby the hard coat The layer is preferably formed with a thick film portion whose thickness is thicker at the edge than at the center.
Thereby, the optical member in which the hard coat layer having a uniform film thickness is formed in the use region of the spectacle lens can be manufactured without requiring time and labor.
In the method for producing an optical member of the present invention, the supplying is preferably performed using a spray coating method.
The spray coating method is suitable for forming a hard coat layer having a relatively thick film thickness, and further, a liquid hard coat layer forming material can be uniformly supplied to the curved concave surface that is directed vertically upward. .
In the method for producing an optical member of the present invention, the hard coat layer forming material is represented by the general formula (1): (R 1 ) n Si (X 1 ) 4-n (in the general formula (1), R 1 is polymerizable). An organic group having 2 or more carbon atoms having a functional group, X 1 represents a hydrolyzable group, and n represents an integer of 1 or 2.) is dissolved in a solvent. It is preferable.
The method for producing an optical member of the present invention is more suitably applied when the hard coat layer forming material is a sol.
In the method for producing an optical member of the present invention, it is preferable that the hard coat layer has an average thickness at the center of 5.0 μm or more and 50 μm or less.
When a hard coat layer having a film thickness in such a range is formed, a thick film portion is particularly formed in the hard coat layer.
In the method for producing an optical member of the present invention, the lens base material includes a curved convex surface facing the curved concave surface,
Prior to the heating step, it is preferable that a hard coat layer forming material for forming the hard coat layer is supplied to the curved convex surface of the lens substrate.
Accordingly, an optical member in which a hard coat layer having a uniform film thickness is formed on both the curved concave surface and the curved convex surface in the use region of the spectacle lens can be manufactured without requiring time and labor.

Further, the coating method for supplying the hard coat layer forming material to the curved
[B-2] Next, as shown in FIG. 2B, the
Here, after the supply of the hard coat layer forming material that forms a liquid to the curved
On the other hand, in the present invention, after the hard coat layer forming material is supplied, the
In this step, it is only necessary that the curved
[B-3] Next, as shown in FIG. 2C, the hard coat layer forming material is heated to form the hard coat layer 4 (heating step).
By heating the hard coat layer-forming material, hydrolyzable groups X 1, wherein the organic silicon compound represented by the general formula (1) is possessed, gelled by siloxane oligomer is produced by hydrolysis and polycondensation reactions The
When the
In the manufacturing method of the optical member of the present invention, the
As described above, according to the present invention, after the hard coat layer forming material is supplied to the curved

Furthermore, the atmosphere during heating is not particularly limited, but is an oxygen-containing atmosphere or an inert gas atmosphere such as nitrogen gas.
By heating under the above conditions, the hydrolysis / polycondensation reaction can surely proceed, so that the

FIGS. 3A and 3B show a second embodiment in which an optical member manufactured by the method for manufacturing an optical member of the present invention is applied to a spectacle lens ((a) a plan view, (b) A shown in FIG. 3 (a). FIG. 4 is a longitudinal sectional view for explaining a second embodiment of a method for manufacturing a spectacle lens to which the method for manufacturing an optical member of the present invention is applied. In the following, the upper side in FIGS. 3B and 4 is referred to as “upper”, and the lower side is referred to as “lower”. 3 and 4, for convenience of explanation, the size and thickness of members constituting the spectacle lens are schematically shown exaggerated, and the size and thickness of each member are actually Are very different.

As described above, when the hard coat layer forming material is supplied to the curved

The optical member is not limited to the eyeglass lens described in each of the embodiments, and can be applied to various lenses that transmit light. For example, the optical member can be applied to a lens included in a television, a projector, a computer display, or the like. it can.
As mentioned above, although the manufacturing method of the optical member of this invention was demonstrated, this invention is not limited to this.
For example, in the method for producing an optical member of the present invention, the order of the steps may be changed without being limited to the configuration of the embodiment. In addition, one or two or more arbitrary processes may be added, and unnecessary processes may be deleted.

The hard coat layer forming material adjusted in (1) was applied (supplied) from the upper side of the curved concave surface to form a coating film.

<3 ′> Next, the lens base material is turned upside down, and the curved convex surface is repositioned downward. Then, from the upper side of the curved concave surface that has turned upward, in the same manner as in the step <2 ′>, 1. The hard coat layer forming material prepared in (1) was applied (supplied) to form a coating film.
<4 '> Next, the curved concave surface of the lens base material is dried by heating the film with the curved convex surface facing downward (the curved concave surface facing upward) by heating at 80 ° C. for 30 minutes. The lens with the hard coat of the comparative example in which the hard coat layer was formed on both the curved convex surface was obtained.
3. Evaluation on the thickness of the hard coat layer About the lens with hard coat obtained in the examples and each comparative example, in the thickness direction, by using a microtome (Richert-Nissei ULTRACUT N), to create an observation cross section, The observation cross section was observed with a scanning electron microscope, and the film thickness of the hard coat layer formed on both the curved concave surface and the curved convex surface of the lens substrate was measured for the central portion and the edge portion, respectively.
In addition, the film thickness in the edge part of a hard-coat layer was taken as the film thickness in the position of 7 mm inside from the end surface of a lens.
The results are shown in Table 1.
As is apparent from Table 1, in the lens with a hard coat of the example, the hard coat layer is formed on both the curved convex surface side and the curved concave surface side from the center portion to the edge portion (position of 7 mm inside from the lens end surface). It was revealed that was formed with a uniform film thickness.
When the position closer to the end face than the position 7 mm on the inner side from the end face of the lens was observed, a thick film part having a thickness greater than that of the center part and the edge part was observed.
On the other hand, in the lens with the hard coat of the comparative example, the film thickness of the hard coat layer on both the curved convex surface side and the curved concave surface side is the center portion and the edge portion (at a position 7 mm inside from the end surface of the lens). It was uneven.
From the above, it was found that according to the method for manufacturing a lens with a hard coat of the example, a hard coat layer having a uniform film thickness can be formed in the use region of the lens without requiring time and labor.
