Claims (10)
- データを記憶するように構成された複数のストレージデバイスを含むデータ記憶媒体と、
前記データ記憶媒体に結合されたデータストレージコントローラと、
を備え、前記データストレージコントローラは、
前記データ記憶媒体を対象とする、第1のタイプの動作及び第2のタイプの動作を含む要求を受け取り、
前記第1のタイプの要求を、前記複数のストレージデバイスによって直ちに処理されるようにスケジュールし、
前記第2のタイプの要求を、前記複数のストレージデバイスによって後で処理されるようにキューに入れる、
ように構成され、
前記第2のタイプの動作に対応する前記要求は、書き込み要求に対応し、前記ストレージコントローラは、前記書き込み要求の後に、所与のデバイスに対してダミーの読み込みを自動的にスケジュールするように構成される、
ことを特徴とするコンピュータシステム。 - 前記第1のタイプの動作は、レイテンシが相対的に短いと予想される動作に対応し、前記第2のタイプの動作は、レイテンシが相対的に長いと予想される動作に対応する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンピュータシステム。 - 前記第1のタイプの動作は、読み込み要求に対応し、前記第2のタイプの動作は、書き込み要求、キャッシュフラッシュ、又はトリム動作に対応する、
ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載のコンピュータシステム。 - 前記複数のストレージデバイスは、ソリッドステートストレージデバイスであり、該ソリッドステートストレージデバイスの各々は、読み込み要求を相対的に短いレイテンシで処理し、書き込み要求を相対的に長いレイテンシで処理する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンピュータシステム。 - 前記ストレージコントローラは、前記複数のストレージデバイスのうちの別のストレージデバイスが相対的に短い応答レイテンシを示していることを検出したことに応答して、前記第2のタイプの動作に対応する要求の処理を中断するように構成される、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンピュータシステム。 - 前記ストレージコントローラは、前記書き込み要求を、処理するための複数の不連続単位のデータとしてストリーミングし、前記ストレージコントローラは、前記単位のいずれかの後に前記ストリーミングを停止することができる、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンピュータシステム。 - 前記ストレージコントローラは、所与の状態を検出したことに応答して、前記第1のタイプに対応する要求の処理を直ちに停止し、前記第2のタイプに対応するキューに入れられた要求の処理を開始するように構成される、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンピュータシステム。 - 前記状態は、特定数の前記第2のタイプの要求がキューに入ったこと、前記第2のタイプの要求が処理されてからある時間が経過したこと、及び一定の時間にわたって新たな要求が受け取られなかったことのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項7に記載のコンピュータシステム。 - コンピューティングシステムで使用するための方法であって、
データを記憶するように構成された複数のストレージデバイスを含むデータ記憶媒体を対象とする、第1のタイプの動作及び第2のタイプの動作を含む要求を受け取るステップと、
前記第1のタイプの要求を、前記複数のストレージデバイスによって直ちに処理されるようにスケジュールするステップと、
前記第2のタイプの要求を、前記複数のストレージデバイスによって後で処理されるようにキューに入れるステップと、
を含み、
前記第2のタイプの動作に対応する前記要求は、書き込み要求に対応し、前記ストレージコントローラは、前記書き込み要求の後に、所与のデバイスに対してダミーの読み込みを自動的にスケジュールするように構成される、
ことを特徴とする方法。 - プログラム命令を含むコンピュータ可読記憶媒体であって、前記プログラム命令は、処理デバイスによる実行時に、
データを記憶するように構成された複数のストレージデバイスを含むデータ記憶媒体を対象とする、第1のタイプの動作及び第2のタイプの動作を含む要求を受け取り、
前記第1のタイプの要求を、前記複数のストレージデバイスによって直ちに処理されるようにスケジュールし、
前記第2のタイプの要求を、前記複数のストレージデバイスによって後で処理されるようにキューに入れる、
ように動作可能であり、
前記第2のタイプの動作に対応する前記要求は、書き込み要求に対応し、前記ストレージコントローラは、前記書き込み要求の後に、所与のデバイスに対してダミーの読み込みを自動的にスケジュールするように構成される、
ことを特徴とするコンピュータ可読記憶媒体。
