- Exhaust Silencers (AREA)
Description
The present invention relates to a silencer that constitutes an automobile exhaust device.
An automobile equipped with an internal combustion engine (hereinafter referred to as an engine) is equipped with an exhaust manifold, a catalytic device, an exhaust pipe, a silencer (in order to detoxify (purify) exhaust gas exhausted from the engine and reduce exhaust noise. An exhaust device composed of a muffler is also provided. Recent silencers include shells made of thin steel sheets that form the outer shell, multiple separators that divide the shell into expansion chambers and resonance chambers, inlet pipes connected to the exhaust pipe, outlet pipes protruding from the rear of the shell, etc. In general, a welded structure product is made of an element member (see, for example, Patent Document 1). In this type of silencer, the exhaust gas introduced into the shell from the inlet pipe attenuates pressure fluctuations in the expansion chamber and attenuates a predetermined frequency component of the exhaust sound by the resonance chamber, thereby suppressing pulsation noise. At the same time, the sound pressure level of an unpleasant low frequency (for example, about 80 to 200 Hz) is also released into the atmosphere from the outlet pipe in a low state (that is, a muffled state).
In general, the silencer has a cylindrical or elliptical shell, and it is desirable to increase the internal space volume in order to ensure the silencing performance. However, since silencers for automobiles are mounted under the rear floor of the vehicle body, they must be placed in a limited space such as between fuel tanks, tire pans, and suspensions. In combination with demands for flooring, it is difficult to employ a silencer having a cylindrical or elliptical shell with a large internal space volume. Therefore, it is conceivable that the shell has a shape other than a cylindrical shape or an elliptical cylindrical shape (for example, a square and flat casing), but in this case, the planar portion is widened and the surface rigidity is reduced. There was a case where a radiated sound was generated due to the surface vibration of the flat portion accompanying the circulation of the exhaust gas.
In Patent Document 1, in order to suppress the generation of such radiated sound, a wide surface of a flat shell is formed into a corrugated curved surface in which a plurality of arcuate curved surfaces are continuous from one side to the other side, and the surface rigidity is increased. Vibration is reduced. Moreover, in the silencer of patent document 1, each opening is facing the pair of shell halves formed in a flat container shape each having a bottom portion and a side portion forming an opening at a position facing the bottom portion. The upper and lower shell halves form a shell that overlaps in the vertical direction. The upper shell half and the lower shell half have the same depth from the opening to the bottom, and the inlet pipe and outlet pipe are connected to the upper shell half and the lower shell half. It is provided in the shell so as to be sandwiched between and.
However, when the depth from the opening of the shell half to the bottom is deep and the length of the side part forming the opening is increased in the vertical direction, there is a problem in that radiated sound due to surface vibration is also generated at the side part.
The present invention has been made in view of such a background, and provides a silencer capable of suppressing radiated sound due to surface vibration generated at a side portion of a shell formed by overlapping a pair of shell halves in the vertical direction. With the goal.
In order to solve such a problem, according to the present invention, each has a bottom portion (21, 31) and side portions (23, 33) forming openings (22, 32) at positions facing the bottom portion (21, 31). A pair of shell halves (2, 3) formed in a flat container shape are overlapped with each other so that their openings (22, 32) face each other, and in the internal space of the shell (4) A silencer (1) to which an inlet pipe (5) for introducing exhaust gas and an outlet pipe (7) for discharging exhaust gas from the internal space of the shell (4) are connected, one shell half (3) The depth (b) from the opening (32) to the bottom (31) is deeper than the depth (a) from the opening (22) to the bottom (21) of the other shell half (2). The inlet pipe (5) and Said outlet pipe (7) has a structure in which the connected to the side (33) of said one shell half (3).
According to this configuration, a rigid inlet pipe and outlet pipe are connected to the side of one shell half where the depth from the opening to the bottom is deep and the length of the side forming the opening is long. Therefore, the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe function as a reinforcing member that increases the surface rigidity of the side, and the side vibration of the side of one shell half, which is more likely to generate radiated sound than the other shell half, is effectively suppressed. Therefore, generation of radiated sound can be suppressed. Moreover, it is not necessary to change the shape of the side part or add a new reinforcing member.
Moreover, according to this invention, it can be set as the structure by which said one shell half (3) is arrange | positioned below.
Inside the shell, condensed water, which is a condensation of moisture contained in the exhaust gas, collects at the bottom, but according to this configuration, one shell half is placed on the lower side, and the outlet pipe is placed closer to the bottom of the shell. Then, discharge of the condensed water to the outside of the shell through the outlet pipe is promoted. Therefore, not only can the radiated sound generated from the side portion of the lower shell half be suppressed, but also the amount of condensed water accumulated in the shell can be reduced.
Further, according to the present invention, the pair of shell halves (2, 3) has an annular engagement edge portion that forms the opening (22, 32) at the tip of each of the side portions (23, 33). (26, 36), and both the engaging edge portions (26, 36) are welded to each other in a state of being overlapped in the overlapping direction of the pair of shell halves (2, 3). It can be configured.
According to this configuration, both the shell halves can be welded to each other without increasing the size of the shell, the thickness of the portion is increased, and the rigidity of the side portion of the shell can be increased. Thereby, generation | occurrence | production of the radiation sound by the surface vibration from the side part of a shell can be suppressed.
Further, according to the present invention, the engagement edge portions (26, 36) of the one (26) disposed on the outer side are shorter than the outer peripheral length of the other (36) disposed on the inner side. The one engagement edge (26) is formed and welded together while being press-fitted into the other engagement edge (36).
According to this structure, since both engagement edge parts can be bent by press-fitting and can be reliably brought into close contact with each other, occurrence of poor welding can be prevented.
Further, according to the present invention, it has a separator (11, 12) that is fixed to the both shell halves (2, 3) inside the shell (4) and partitions the internal space of the shell (4), Both the engaging edge portions (26, 36) can be separated from the separator (11, 12).
According to this configuration, the other engagement edge disposed on the inside can be appropriately bent without interfering with the separator, so that both engagement edges are securely brought into contact with each other to prevent occurrence of poor welding. it can.
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a silencer that can suppress radiated sound due to surface vibration generated at the side portion of the shell formed by overlapping a pair of shell halves in the vertical direction.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of a silencer 1 according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the description of the silencer 1, front and rear, left and right, and top and bottom are indicated by arrows in FIG. 1, and the position and direction of each member will be described along this.
As shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 3, the silencer 1 includes a shell 4 formed by joining an
As shown in FIG. 4, first and
The extending direction of the corresponding
As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the
The
In a cross section (FIGS. 5 and 6) along the first and second
図3に示すように、アッパシェルハーフ2の深さa(開口22から底部21までの最大寸法)に対し、ロワシェルハーフ3の深さb(開口32から底部31までの最大寸法)は大きく設定されている。
As shown in FIG. 3, the depth b (maximum dimension from the
At the edge of the
In this embodiment, the outer peripheral length of the
In this way, both the engagement rims 26 and 36 are welded in a state where they overlap each other in the vertical direction, so that both the shell halves 2 and 3 are joined without increasing the size of the shell 4. By increasing the thickness, the rigidity of the side portion of the shell 4 is increased, and the radiated sound generated from the side portion is suppressed. Further, since both the
As shown in FIG. 8, the
Further, a
As shown in FIG. 9, the
Further, a
As shown in FIG. 8, only the
The
In the present embodiment, the
The
On the other hand, the
As shown in FIGS. 4 and 9 , the lower two of the interference holes 54 of the
As shown in FIG. 4, the
The
The
The
The
As described above, the height of the
In the silencer 1 configured as described above, when the engine of the automobile is started, exhaust gas generated in the cylinder passes through the exhaust manifold, the catalyst device, and the like, and thereafter, as shown in FIG. It passes through and is introduced into the shell 4 from the
The exhaust gas introduced into the
On the other hand, the exhaust gas contains a large amount of moisture, and condensed water is generated by cooling the moisture in the shell 4. In the case of the present embodiment, the condensed water generated in the
Next, a method for manufacturing the silencer 1 will be described with reference to FIGS.
In assembling the shell 4, first, as shown in FIG. 12, the
Next, as shown in FIG. 13, the sub-assembly 71 is turned upside down and placed on the receiving
When the
Next, as shown in FIG. 14, the muffler 1 being assembled is turned over and installed on another
Then, the engaging
Thereafter, the muffler 1 being assembled is removed from the
In the silencer 1, it is inevitable that the shell 4 undergoes surface vibration due to intermittent flow of high-pressure exhaust gas into the internal space. However, in the case of this embodiment, the first and
Further, with respect to the
On the other hand, as described above, in the
In the present embodiment, the
The pair of
