Description
本発明の3D立体メガネ300は、右目用映像光を透過させる右目領域300Rと、左目用映像光を透過させる左目領域300Lとを含む。
光学フィルタの第1領域240Rと右目領域の補償フィルム360Rは、光軸が平行するので、光学フィルタの第1領域240Rを透過した光(すなわち、右目用映像光)は、右目領域の補償フィルム360Rを通過することができる。なお、この右目用映像光は、光学フィルタの第1領域240Rを通過しながら150nmの位相遅延が発生し、右目領域の補償フィルム360Rを通過しながら130nmの位相遅延が発生するようになる。光学フィルタの第1領域で発生した位相遅延と右目領域補償フィルムで発生した位相遅延を総合すれば、全体280nmの位相遅延が発生するようになり、これは、λ/2に該当するので、最終的に、右目用映像光は、全体λ/2の位相差値を有するようになり(すなわち光軸90゜回転)、右目領域の偏光板320Rを透過することができるようになる。したがって、右目用映像光は、3D立体メガネの後方にある右目に透視されることができる。
本発明の立体映像表示装置は、表示パネル100、光学フィルタ200及び3D立体メガネ300を含む。これらのうち表示パネル100と3D立体メガネ300は、前述した通りなので、具体的な説明を省略する。

Claims (12)
- 右目用映像光及び左目用映像光を排出する表示パネル;
前記右目用映像光の偏光状態を調節する第1領域及び前記左目用映像光の偏光状態を調節する第2領域を含む光学フィルタであって、第1領域及び第2領域が互いに対して垂直な配向方向を有し、位相差偏差が第1領域と第2領域との間で生じるようにパターニングされたλ/4位相差層である、光学フィルタ;及び
右目用映像光を透過させる右目領域及び左目用映像光を透過させる左目領域を含む3D立体メガネを含み、
前記右目領域及び左目領域に偏光板及び、前記偏光板上に付着された、前記光学フィルタの第1領域と第2領域との位相差偏差を補償するための補償フィルム(等方性フィルムを除く)が含まれ、
前記右目領域に設けられる補償フィルムと左目領域に設けられる補償フィルムの位相差値が異なる、立体映像表示装置。 - 前記光学フィルタの第1領域の位相差値をα、前記第2領域の位相差値をβ、前記表示パネルから排出される映像光の波長をλとすれば、α+β=λ/2であり、α≠βであり、
前記右目領域に含まれる補償フィルムは、位相差値がβであり、光軸が前記第2領域の光軸と垂直であり、前記左目領域に含まれる補償フィルムは、位相差値がαであり、光軸が前記第1領域の光軸と垂直である、請求項1に記載の立体映像表示装置。 - 前記光学フィルタは、
基材;
前記基材の全面に形成される第1配向膜;
前記第1配向膜の上面に一定のパターンで形成される第2配向膜;及び
前記第1配向膜及び第2配向膜の上面に形成され、第1配向膜により配向された第1領域及び第2配向膜により配向された第2領域で構成される液晶層を含む、請求項1に記載の立体映像表示装置。 - 前記第1配向膜と第2配向膜は、配向処理方式が異なる材料よりなる、請求項3に記載の立体映像表示装置。
- 前記液晶層は、λ/4位相差層である、請求項3に記載の立体映像表示装置。
- 前記第1配向膜は、ラビング配向膜であり、
前記第2配向膜は、光配向膜である、請求項3に記載の立体映像表示装置。 - 前記第1配向膜は、光配向膜であり、
前記第2配向膜は、ラビング配向膜である、請求項3に記載の立体映像表示装置。 - 前記第1配向膜と第2配向膜の配向方向は、互いに垂直である、請求項3に記載の立体映像表示装置。
- 前記光学フィルタは、
基材;
前記基材上に形成され、前記第1領域に対応する部分と前記第2領域に対応する部分が異なる配向方向を有するようにパターニングされた配向膜;及び
前記配向膜の上面に形成される液晶層を含む、請求項1に記載の立体映像表示装置。 - 前記配向膜は、光配向膜である、請求項9に記載の立体映像表示装置。
- 前記液晶層は、λ/4位相差層である、請求項9に記載の立体映像表示装置。
- 前記第1領域に対応する部分と前記第2領域に対応する部分が互いに垂直である配向方向を有する、請求項9に記載の立体映像表示装置。
