Claims (1)
- 気筒内に直接燃料を噴射する燃料噴射弁を備えた筒内直接噴射式の内燃機関において、
排気通路と前記気筒内の燃焼室とを連通する排気ガス再循環通路を設け、
前記燃焼室の内壁またはシリンダの内壁であって前記燃料噴射弁から噴射される燃料が付着し得る部分であり、前記燃料噴射弁に対向する排気弁の下方、且つ気筒におけるピストンの上死点と下死点との間の領域に臨む位置に、前記排気ガス再循環通路の燃焼室側開口部を設けており、
吸気行程且つ前記燃料噴射弁から燃料を噴射するタイミングで、前記燃焼室側開口部から排気ガスを気筒内に流入させる
ことを特徴とする内燃機関。
