本発明の複合材料の構成について説明する。本発明の複合材料は特定の骨格を有する有機化合物と無機化合物との複合材料である。本発明の複合材料の作製方法には限定はないが、当該有機化合物と無機化合物を同時に蒸着する共蒸着法により形成することができる。本発明の有機化合物と無機化合物の混合比はモル比で1:0.1〜1:10程度が好ましく、さらに望ましくは1:0.5〜1:2である。混合比は複合材料を共蒸着法により形成する場合は有機化合物と無機化合物各々の蒸着レートを調節することによって制御することができる。
本発明の発光素子について説明する。本発明の発光素子は、一対の電極間に発光物質を含む層と複合材料でなる層とを含んでいる。なお、複合材料とは、実施の形態1で説明した本発明の複合材料である。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態2で示した発光素子の作製方法について説明する。
本実施の形態では、複合材料よりなる層を、陽極と発光層の間、かつ、陽極と接しないように設ける場合について説明する。
本実施の形態では、他に示した構成とは異なる構成を有する発光素子について、図5を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、発光機能を担う層を複合材料よりなる層を挟んで複数有する発光素子の構成について説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の発光素子を有する発光装置について説明する。

- 一般式(2)乃至(4)で表されるいずれか1つの有機化合物及びモリブデン酸化物を含むことを特徴とする複合材料。
- 一般式(2)乃至(4)で表されるいずれか1つの有機化合物及びモリブデン酸化物を含むことを特徴とする複合材料。
- 第1の電極と第2の電極との間に、
一般式(2)乃至(4)で表される有機化合物のいずれか1つ及びモリブデン酸化物を含む層と、
発光物質を含む層と、
を有することを特徴とする発光素子。
- 第1の電極と第2の電極との間に、
一般式(2)乃至(4)で表されるいずれか1つの有機化合物及びモリブデン酸化物を含む層と、
発光物質を含む層と、
を有することを特徴とする発光素子。
- 請求項4乃至請求項6のいずれか一項に記載の発光素子と、
前記発光素子の発光を制御する手段を有することを特徴とする発光装置。 - 表示部を有し、
前記表示部は請求項4乃至請求項6のいずれか一項に記載の発光素子を有し、
前記発光素子の発光を制御する手段を備えたことを特徴とする電気機器。
