Claims (8)
- 光を放射するバックライトの前面に設けられ、開閉動作により前記バックライトから表示画面側に放射される光量を制御するMEMSシャッターが設けられたMEMSシャッターアレイと、
前記バックライトと前記MEMSシャッターアレイとの間に設けられたアパーチャープレートと、を有し、
前記アパーチャープレートは、前記MEMSシャッターが設けられた位置に対応して開口部が形成された金属層を有し、前記金属層の前記MEMSシャッター側の表面に金属の酸化物層が形成され、
前記金属層における前記開口部の側面にも、金属の酸化物層が設けられていることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記金属の酸化物層が、前記金属層を形成する金属材料の酸化物であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記アパーチャープレートの前記MEMSシャッターアレイ側の面の反射率が50%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2のいずれか一に記載の表示装置。
- 前記金属層が、銀又は銀合金で形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の表示装置。
- MEMSシャッターアレイとアパーチャープレートとを有する表示装置の作製方法であって、
透光性の基板上に金属層を形成し、
前記金属層上に開口パターンが形成されたレジストマスクを設け、
前記レジストマスクが設けられた状態で前記金属層の露出部分をエッチングし、前記透光性の基板まで貫通する開口部を形成し、
前記レジストマスクを除去し、
前記金属層の表面及び前記開口部の側壁面を酸化することにより、前記アパーチャープレートの表裏の反射率を異ならせるようにすることを特徴とする表示装置の作製方法。 - 前記レジストマスクをアッシング法により除去することで、該レジストマスクの除去と同時に、前記金属層の表面及び前記開口部の側壁面の酸化を行うことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の表示装置の作製方法。
- 前記金属膜の表面及び前記開口部の側壁面の酸化を、オゾン酸化法又は酸素ラジカルを生成するプラズマ酸化法で行うことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の表示装置の作製方法。
- 前記金属層を、銀又は銀合金を用いて形成することを特徴とする請求項5乃至7のいずれか一項に記載の表示装置の作製方法。
