Description
確かつ均一に冷却することができる新規な冷却系を有する摩擦撹拌接合装置を提供することを目的とする。
載置治具12を備える載置部材である。かかる載置部10aは、充分な強度及び剛性を有する典型的には鉄材等の金属製であり、載置治具12は、充分な強度、剛性及び熱伝導性を有する典型的には金属製である。加工対象部材Wは、典型的には第1部材W1及び第2部材W2が上下方向に並置されて互いに重なり合った部分を有するアルミニウム材等の金属製の板状部材であり、第1部材W1及び第2部材W2の重なり合った部分の所定の部位が、所定の加工方向に沿って移動されるべき接合ツール30により所定の接合線でもって接合されるものである。載置治具12上における加工対象部材Wの位置は、保持機構20で加工対象部材Wの一部を保持することにより、正確に維持される。また、接合ツール30により形成される所定の接合線は、典型的には加工対象部材Wの縁部を延在するものを含む。
す下方位置にあって加工対象部材Wの第1部材W1の上面を所定荷重で押圧し保持している際に、保持部材22aに配された温度センサDの温度が所定温度を超えた場合には、クーラント供給源Sからクーラントが供給され、クーラントは配管Pを介して流路22hに流入してその中を流れた後その後段の配管Pに排出される。また、保持部材22aが図2及び図3に示す下方位置にあって加工対象部材Wの第1部材W1の上面を所定荷重で押圧し保持している際には、加工対象部材W及び載置治具12の上面視で見た重複部分を覆って位置される。
部12aにおける流路12cと保持部材22aの流路22hとの間でクーラントが流通するものであれば、その流す順序は限定的なものではない。また、配管Pが載置部10aを通過する構成としては、載置部10aに流路10bや切欠き等を設けてそれを通過させる構成でもよいし、それらを設けずそれを迂回させる構成であってもよい。また、載置治具12の形状が、加工対象部材Wの形状に応じて、他の角形状や円状等である場合には、載置治具12の冷却系は、それらの各辺や所定長の各円弧等に関して分割されて独立させればよい。また、載置部10aと載置治具12の下側載置部12aとを、一体化させた構成としてもよく、かかる場合には、載置部10aには、充分な熱伝導性をも呈する材料を用いて流路を設けてもよい。
、プローブ32の下部の移動した軌跡に対応して、摩擦攪拌接合されていく。併せて、補助支持部材42は、加工対象部材Wを挟んでプローブ32の下部と対向するように補助支持部材42の上部の1点において載置台10の載置部10aの下面に当接した状態でホルダ44内において回転しながら、所定の加工方向の方向に移動されている。
置治具12の部分が対を成す保持機構20と、対を成した保持部材22a及び載置治具12の部分に対して、クーラントを供給自在なクーラント供給源Sと、を備えることにより、多種多様な加工対象部材Wを摩擦撹拌接合する際に、簡便な構成で、載置治具12の不要な熱膨張を抑えながら、冷却が必要な部位を的確かつ均一に冷却することができる。

Claims (3)
- 加工対象部材の加工対象側面に対して上下移動自在であり、前記加工対象部材に対して回転自在であるプローブを有する接合ツールと、
前記加工対象部材を載置する載置治具を有する載置部材と、
前記接合ツールが装着される装着治具を固定したアームを有して、前記アームを移動して前記接合ツールを前記加工対象部材に対して移動自在な移動機構と、
前記加工対象部材を保持自在に、前記加工対象部材に対して可動な保持部材を有して、前記保持部材及び前記保持部材に対向自在な前記載置治具の部分が対を成す保持機構と、
前記対を成した前記保持部材及び前記載置治具の前記部分に対して、クーラントを供給自在なクーラント供給源と、
を備え、
前記対を成した前記保持部材及び前記載置治具の前記部分の間は、柔軟性を有する配管で接続され、前記クーラントは、前記クーラント供給源から前記保持部材及び前記載置治具の前記部分の一方に供給され、前記保持部材及び前記載置治具の前記部分の前記一方から、前記配管を介して、前記保持部材及び前記載置治具の前記部分の他方に流された後、前記クーラント供給源に戻される摩擦撹拌接合装置。 - 前記載置治具は、下側載置部、及び前記下側載置部上に設けられて前記加工対象部材に接する上側載置部を有して、前記下側載置部の熱伝導率は、前記上側載置部の熱伝導率よりも大きく、かつ、前記上側載置部の強度は、前記下側載置部の強度よりも大きく設定される請求項1に記載の摩擦撹拌接合装置。
- 前記対を成した前記保持部材及び前記載置治具の前記部分は、前記載置治具の上面視での形状に応じて複数の対を成し、前記複数の対を成した前記保持部材及び前記載置治具の前記部分は、前記クーラントを独立して循環させる互いに独立した冷却系を成す請求項1又は2に記載の摩擦撹拌接合装置。
