Description
無機繊維体である保持材10を脱水成形により製造した。すなわち、まず、アルミナ繊維(アルミナ80質量%、シリカ20質量%)100質量部と、有機バインダー(アクリル樹脂)5質量部と、無機バインダー(アルミナゾル、シリカゾル等)1質量部と、水20000質量部と、を含む水性スラリーを調製した。
図11に示すような試験装置50を使用して、静摩擦係数を測定することにより、保持材10と金属表面との摩擦抵抗を評価した。すなわち、この試験装置50は、ステンレス(SUS)製の平板である引張ジグ51(ケーシング40に相当する部材)と、当該引張ジグ51及び保持材10を圧縮するステンレス(SUS)製の平板である一対の圧縮ジグ52と、を備えていた。
上述の実施例1と同様にして、坪量が800〜1500g/m2程度、嵩密度が0.15〜0.20g/cm3であるマット状(370mm×90mm×厚さ9mm)の無機繊維体を得た。
外径110mmの円筒状であるセラミックス製の触媒担体である処理構造体20と、上述した保持材10と、内径118mmの円筒状であるステンレス製のケーシング40と、を備えた触媒コンバータである気体処理装置1を製造した。
図13に示すような試験装置60を使用して、キャニング時の挿入力及びキャニング後の押出力を評価した。すなわち、この試験装置60は、処理構造体20の長手方向一方端に載置されたステンレス製の円板である押出用治具61と、当該押出用治具61を介して当該処理構造体20を図13における下方に押す棒状の押し棒62と、を備えていた。
上述の実施例1と同様にして、坪量が1350g/m2、嵩密度が0.15g/cm3であるマット状(200mm×250mm、厚さ9mm)の無機繊維体を得た。

Claims (12)
- 前記ケーシングの前記内表面と前記保持材の前記外表面とは、硬化した前記接着層を介して接着している
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載された気体処理装置。 - 前記ケーシングの前記内表面と前記保持材の前記外表面とは、前記接着層を介したアンカー効果によって接着している
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載された気体処理装置。 - 前記ケーシングの前記内表面と前記保持材の前記外表面とは、前記ケーシングと前記保持材とを分離した場合に、前記保持材の前記無機繊維の破片が前記ケーシングの前記内表面に接着して残るように、接着している
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載された気体処理装置。 - 前記接着層は、前記一般式(II)において少なくとも1つのR2が水素原子であることによるヒドロキシル基を有する前記化合物と、前記ヒドロキシル基を保護するためのキャッピング化合物と、を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載された気体処理装置。 - 前記化合物は、シリコーンオイルである
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載された気体処理装置。 - 処理構造体と前記処理構造体を収容する金属製のケーシングとを備える気体処理装置において、前記処理構造体と前記ケーシングとの間に配置される無機繊維製の保持材であって、
前記気体処理装置において前記ケーシングの内表面と接する外表面を有し、
前記外表面の少なくとも一部に接着層が形成されていて、
前記接着層が、下記一般式(I)で表される構造単位を有し加熱により前記ケーシングの内表面と前記外表面とを接着させる化合物を含む
ことを特徴とする気体処理装置用保持材。
- 処理構造体と、前記処理構造体を収容する金属製のケーシングと、前記処理構造体と前記ケーシングとの間に配置される無機繊維製の保持材とを備える気体処理装置を製造する方法であって、
前記ケーシングの内表面と前記保持材の外表面とが下記一般式(I)で表される構造単位を有する化合物を含む接着層を介して接するように、前記保持材を、前記処理構造体と前記ケーシングとの間に配置する配置工程と、
前記ケーシングの前記内表面と前記保持材の前記外表面とが前記接着層を介して接した状態で、前記接着層を加熱し、硬化することにより、前記内表面と前記外表面とを接着する接着工程を含む
ことを特徴とする気体処理装置の製造方法。
- 前記配置工程において、前記接着層が予め形成された前記外表面を有する前記保持材を、前記処理構造体と前記ケーシングとの間に配置する
ことを特徴とする請求項9に記載された気体処理装置の製造方法。 - 前記配置工程において、前記接着層が予め形成された前記内表面を有する前記ケーシングと、前記処理構造体との間に、前記保持材を配置する
ことを特徴とする請求項9又は10に記載された気体処理装置の製造方法。 - 処理構造体と前記処理構造体を収容する金属製のケーシングとを備える気体処理装置において、前記処理構造体と前記ケーシングとの間に配置される無機繊維製の保持材を製造する方法であって、
前記保持材の前記ケーシングの内表面と接する外表面の少なくとも一部に、下記一般式(I)で表される構造単位を有し加熱により前記ケーシングの内表面と前記外表面とを接着させる化合物を含む接着層を形成することを含む
ことを特徴とする気体処理装置用保持材の製造方法。
