Description
Claims (14)
- 標的組織を加熱する装置であって、
組織接触面を含むハウジングと、
前記ハウジング内に且つ配列面上に設けられた超音波振動子のアレイと、を含み、前記配列面は、前記超音波振動子からの超音波エネルギーを前記組織接触面から既定の深さのところの標的領域に集中させる形状を有し、
更に、前記ハウジングに取り付けられたデフレクター(deflector)部材を含み、前記デフレクター部材は、前記超音波エネルギーが前記標的領域に向かう途中に通過する選択された領域の中に延び、前記超音波エネルギーの選択された一部を屈折させ、前記アレイと、前記超音波エネルギーのレベルが既定の閾値水準を超えている領域の近位端部との間の隔離距離が、前記デフレクター部材が前記ハウジングに取り付けられていないときの屈折なしの前記隔離距離に対して変更されるように設計された、装置。 - 前記デフレクター部材が、前記ハウジングに結合された近位端部から、前記配列面から既定の距離のところの遠位端部まで延在する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記配列面の中心に接する面に対して実質的に平行な面における前記デフレクター部材の外形により、前記超音波エネルギーレベルが前記既定の閾値水準未満である遮蔽領域を形成し、前記デフレクター部材が存在しないならば、前記遮蔽領域における超音波エネルギーレベルは、前記既定の閾値水準を超えることになる、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記デフレクター部材の遠位端部が、その近位端部よりも幅広である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記デフレクター部材は、中心ステムから移行領域を通って徐々に外側に拡張し、実質的に円錐状の遠位端部を形成する、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記デフレクター部材は、中心ステムから急に拡張し、実質的に円盤形の遠位端部を形成する、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記デフレクター部材の遠位端部は、前記超音波エネルギーが前記標的領域に向かう途中に通過する前記領域の実質的に中心に配置される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記アレイは、円形の複数の前記超音波振動子を含み、円形の前記超音波振動子の直径は、1cmである、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記超音波振動子は、2.5MHzの周波数で振動する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記アレイは、少なくとも10の前記超音波振動子を含む、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記デフレクター部材の近位端部は、前記ハウジングに取り外し可能に結合される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記超音波振動子及び前記配列面は、前記デフレクター部材との相互作用を介してのみ、前記アレイと、前記超音波エネルギーのレベルが既定の閾値水準を超えている領域の近位端部との間の隔離距離が変化するように、前記ハウジングに対して固定される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記デフレクター部材は、前記ハウジングから取り外し可能であり、前記装置は、前記デフレクター部材が前記ハウジングに連結されているときに、前記アレイと、前記超音波エネルギーのレベルが既定の閾値水準を超えている領域の近位端部との間の第1の隔離距離を達成し、前記デフレクター部材が前記ハウジングから取り外されているときに、前記アレイと、前記超音波エネルギーのレベルが既定の閾値水準を超えている領域の近位端部との間の第2の隔離距離を達成するように構成される、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 標的組織を加熱する装置であって、
組織接触面を含むハウジングと、
前記ハウジング内に且つ配列面上に設けられた超音波振動子のアレイと、を含み、前記配列面は、前記超音波振動子からの超音波エネルギーを前記組織接触面から既定の深さのところの標的領域に集中させる形状を有し、
更に、ハウジングに選択的に取り付け可能なデフレクター(deflector)部材を含み、
前記デフレクター部材が前記ハウジングに取り付けられているとき、前記デフレクター部材は、生成した前記超音波エネルギーが前記標的領域に向かう途中に通過する領域の中に延び、前記超音波エネルギーの選択された一部を屈折させて、前記アレイと、前記超音波エネルギーのレベルが既定の閾値水準を超えている領域の近位端部との間の隔離距離が、前記デフレクター部材が前記ハウジングに取り付けられていないときの前記隔離距離に対して変更されるように設計された、装置。
