Description
請求項1:
黒鉛粉末、エポキシ樹脂及びフェノール樹脂を含む組成物を成形してなる成形体の表面を粗面化処理した後、赤外線レーザを照射することによって前記成形体の表面の樹脂を消失させ、更に親水化処理して得られる燃料電池セパレータであって、下記(1)及び(2)の特性を備えることを特徴とする燃料電池セパレータ。
(1)初期の静的接触角が20°以下
(2)製造後、大気中で3,000時間保存した後の静的接触角が30°以下
請求項2:
更に、下記(3)の特性を備える請求項1記載の燃料電池セパレータ。
(3)90℃のイオン交換水に10,000時間浸漬した後の静的接触角が30°以下
請求項3:
前記親水化処理が、三酸化硫黄ガス処理、フッ素ガス処理、真空プラズマ処理又は大気圧プラズマ処理である請求項1又は2記載の燃料電池セパレータ。
請求項4:
前記粗面化処理が、ブラスト処理、バレル研磨処理又はブラシ研磨処理である請求項1〜3のいずれか1項記載の燃料電池セパレータ。
なお、本発明における平均粒径d50は、レーザ回折法による粒度分布測定におけるメジアン径として表される。
更に、本発明の燃料電池セパレータは、(3)イオン交換水:セパレータ=9:1(質量比)の条件で、90℃のイオン交換水に10,000時間浸漬した後の静的接触角が30°以下であることが好ましい。
天然黒鉛粉末(平均粒径d50=30μm)100質量部、o−クレゾールノボラック型エポキシ樹脂(エポキシ当量:199、ICI粘度0.29Pa・s、加水分解性塩素370ppm)18.3質量部とノボラック型フェノール樹脂(水酸基当量:103、ICI粘度0.22Pa・s)9.6質量部と2−フェニルイミダゾール0.19質量部とからなるバインダー成分、及び内部離型剤であるカルナバワックス0.5質量部をヘンシェルミキサ内に投入し、500rpmで3分間混合して燃料電池セパレータ用組成物を調製した。得られた組成物を、ガス流路の溝に対応するリブを有する300mm×300mmの金型に投入し、金型温度180℃、成形圧力29.4MPa、成形時間2分間にて圧縮成形し、ガス流路溝を有する板状成形体を得た。
大気圧プラズマ処理に代えて、真空プラズマ処理装置((株)ニッシン製MT110-ST)を用いて、セパレータ搬送速度500mm/min、窒素ガス100体積%、ガス流量200L/minの条件で真空プラズマ処理によって親水化処理を施した以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で燃料電池セパレータを得た。
大気圧プラズマ処理に代えて、50℃に加熱した3,000mLの耐酸耐圧容器に赤外線レーザ照射処理した板状成形体を収容し、窒素ガスで10倍に希釈された三酸化硫黄ガスを用いて、流速5,000mL/分で15分間の条件で親水化処理を施し、次いで炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液で洗浄し、更にイオン交換水にて洗浄し、乾燥した以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で燃料電池セパレータを得た。
大気圧プラズマ処理に代えて、3,000mLの真空容器に赤外線レーザ照射処理した板状成形体を収容し、容器内を減圧した後、処理容器内を窒素ガスで置換し、更にこの処理容器内にフッ素ガスを供給することで、処理容器内のフッ素ガス分圧を30kPa、窒素ガス分圧を70kPaとし、25℃で15分間の条件で親水化処理を施した以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で燃料電池セパレータを得た。
親水化処理を施さなかった以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で燃料電池セパレータを得た。
赤外線レーザ照射処理を施さなかった以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で燃料電池セパレータを得た。
赤外線レーザ照射処理を施さなかった以外は、実施例2と同様の方法で燃料電池セパレータを得た。
赤外線レーザ照射処理を施さなかった以外は、実施例3と同様の方法で燃料電池セパレータを得た。
赤外線レーザ照射処理を施さなかった以外は、実施例4と同様の方法で燃料電池セパレータを得た。
粗面化処理を施さなかった以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で燃料電池セパレータを得た。
赤外線レーザ照射処理前の成形体の表面性状を、表面粗さ計((株)東京精密製、サーフコム14000型)を用い、プローブ先端径5μmで、算術平均粗さRa及び粗さ曲線要素の平均長さRSmはJIS B 0601−2001に、局部山頂の平均間隔SはJIS B 0601−1994にそれぞれ準拠して測定した。
接触角計(協和界面化学(株)製、CA−DT・A型)を用いて、下記(1)〜(3)の状態のセパレータ表面に、大気中でイオン交換水5μLを滴下し、静的接触角を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
(1)初期(製造後1時間後)
(2)製造後、大気中で3,000時間保存後
(3)イオン交換水:セパレータ=9:1(質量比)の条件で90℃のイオン交換水に10,000時間浸漬した後、取り出したセパレータ表面の水分をブロアーで除去後
Claims (4)
- 黒鉛粉末、エポキシ樹脂及びフェノール樹脂を含む組成物を成形してなる成形体の表面を粗面化処理した後、赤外線レーザを照射することによって前記成形体の表面の樹脂を消失させ、更に親水化処理して得られる燃料電池セパレータであって、下記(1)及び(2)の特性を備えることを特徴とする燃料電池セパレータ。
(1)初期の静的接触角が20°以下
(2)製造後、大気中で3,000時間保存した後の静的接触角が30°以下 - 更に、下記(3)の特性を備える請求項1記載の燃料電池セパレータ。
(3)90℃のイオン交換水に10,000時間浸漬した後の静的接触角が30°以下 - 前記親水化処理が、三酸化硫黄ガス処理、フッ素ガス処理、真空プラズマ処理又は大気圧プラズマ処理である請求項1又は2記載の燃料電池セパレータ。
- 前記粗面化処理が、ブラスト処理、バレル研磨処理又はブラシ研磨処理である請求項1〜3のいずれか1項記載の燃料電池セパレータ。
